  1. As far as sunshine pumping is concerned, the mocks for next year think we’re gonna be alright. 2. Big year Whit!! 🤘🏼
  3. Bryce has been on a heater since being brought back up 4 starts - 23.2 innings pitched 2-0 record 1.14 ERA 23 Ks to 7 BBs Left the game tonight up 4-1 on the Astros and Atlanta’s pen blew his W.
  4. Couldn’t go anywhere else with a name like Trill Hook’Em.
  5. Yep. Bear Alexander in the portal
  6. Kinda surprises me that it was that way. It’s as close to what the KD-Russ era felt like since KD left. Being built the same way if you ask me. SGA-Chet are your KD-Russ. Williams is Harden. Dort is Roberson/Sefalosha. Plus now you have the hindsight of watching it through once. I’ll be curious if it’s this or next summer that Presti uses the treasure trunk of picks to make a splash. I wouldn’t hate moving up in the draft to grab Miller.
  7. There were reports about Chet possibly getting run if OKC were to make a deep run so I’d think he’d be back. July will be the year mark.
  8. I’ve done a yearly OKC post in the past with some people that follow em like me but I figured it’d be easier to just have one rolling instead. Year 4 of the post Russ era rebuild ends with a play-in birth, a 31 ppg scorer in SGA, an emergence of some of latest first round picks in Giddey and Williams and a roster with 14 players under 25 and 15 first round picks going forward. Hoping the off-season brings some excitement. Chet being back will raise the level of play along with another top 12 pick. Possible move arounds in the draft, maybe the trading of some picks for pieces. Let’s see what Presti has up his sleeve.
  9. Matter of opinion. I think if we don’t hire RT and don’t bring in a top tier guy, the perception isn’t good. “Texas let’s go of the guy that took em to an E8 and had backing from KD and TJ Ford to hire ____”. If it’s Miller, maybe that checks the elite box. But you better bring in someone with a resume from a perception standpoint.
  10. Fair enough. I get that it’s directed at specific people but give Terry a chance before we burn down the program. The first thing to happen and it’s the I told you so game. A month from now we could sitting here with a starting 5 of Hunter, Abmas, Holland, Boone, Disu and be pretty content with the idea of that. Or I could anyways.
  11. It’s the same in the sense of it’s April and the spots on the roster aren’t filled yet. If we finish out the roster and you still think we’re fucked then so be it. Shit I might to. But it’s a bit early to make that call. Oklahoma HS education. Reading fucks with me sometimes.
  12. Fair enough It was a no win situation in my eyes for CDC if it wasn’t Terry. Unless you’re bringing in a name that everyone says, yeahhh I get it. If Miller was the name and it would’ve happened, I’d have a different feeling about it (I’m not a fan of his but I know he’s had good teams in the past).
  13. I’m in the same boat. I’m not saying Terry is gonna lead is to the promised land. It just is funny watching Derka “I told y’all motherfuckers” multiple people on this thread. At this point in Beards first few months on the job our roster was shit too. Let’s see what happens.
  14. You think Sean Miller is the best current coach in college hoops? This isn’t me being a dick, I’m just asking out of curiosity.
  15. The guy that dodged NCAA sanctions at Arizona and got his ass whipped by Terry in the tourney?
  16. These types of reactions in April are funny. The team on the court in November will be fine. Especially coming from a guy who would still have Shaka Smart coaching our basketball team if he had his call. The question I’ve had through this whole thing for the non Terry crowd is who is the hire? Who should we have hired? Who we pulling away from a spot? Billy Donovan who’s not leaving the NBA? Calipari from Kentucky? Nate Oats from Bama? Musselman coming from Arky? Odds are you don’t pull these names and then what? You’ve fired a coach that took your team to is first elite 8 in some time to give the job to Doug McDermott?
  17. This specific year yes. I was talking more in general than us specifically. I’m thinking we look something like this Guards: Hunter, Abams (ORU), Johnson, Perry (UNT), Dixon-Waters (USC) Forwards/Centers: Disu, Cunningham, Anamekwe, Holland, Shedrick (UVA)
  18. Welcome to the portal. Expect to have an unexpected leave every year and to have 2-3 new guys coming in. There’s no such thing as getting and stashing a talented freshman to build up a program. Too much opportunity to play and play how you want. Brumbaugh left to go to 7-25 Georgetown because he wants minutes. Morris will go somewhere where he can have the ball in his hands 80% of possessions. It is what it is. Gotta be able to replace em in the portal. You get the usc kid, Abmas and the Virginia big guy plus Disu possibly back and we’re sitting just fine. If you’re looking for retention of low to no minute playing freshman (especially on a team with multiple 5th year seniors), good luck finding a coach that you can have faith in.
  19. Uhhhh these guys are considered top 10 locks for this years draft Will Levis and Anthony Richardson It’s based on potential. He’s got a cannon arm and will look great throwing in front of scouts during a pro day, combine setting. He’ll get drafted strictly off that even if he doesn’t make a jump (which he will with the better line, weapons he has this year.)
  20. Bryce had a day 6 IP, 2 H, 3 BB, 1 HBP, 6Ks, 0 R on 79 pitches
  21. This made me curious. this last season at Cal 15/3/3 on 37/30/86 splits (14 shots per game)
  22. Pure stats, really only Miller and Swoopes and Lieberman (that I’ve seen) match up. Better stats than Parker, Taurasi, Bird, Stewart, Moore etc. The greats from the 80s-90s of Tennessee I’m not as familiar with so I’m sure I’m missing some players there. Definitely more stat driven now a days but there was talent all over those UConn and Tennessee teams every year. Iowa really only has one other player that’s decent. Clark commands a ton of attention for obvious reasons I don’t know enough to have a true arguement for or against it. Just straight stat searching shows another level with Clark but I’m sure there are greats that have close to her stats that I don’t know about.
  23. Got on this topic with a buddy of mine. Is she the best women’s player of all time? Over a 3 year career at Iowa 27.0 PPG 7.1 RPG 8.0 APG 1.4 SPG 46/38/86 % Splits 1000+ points in one season. 2,687 (and counting) for her career. 74-24 since she’s been on campus. 3 tourney appearances, 2 sweet 16s, 1 E8, 1 F4, 1 NC game appearance. The 5 years before she was there 115-50, 1 S16, 1 E8, missed the tourney 3 of 5 years. Only player to ever have back to back 40 point tourney games in women’s history. Most points scored in a Final Four game in women’s history.
  24. I don’t feel like that’s bad. No announcement of name being in the portal or anything like that. Test the nba waters, not what he feels it should be, come back.
  25. That’s the point of my post though. Keeping RT and what we have momentum wise coming off our first E8 since 08 is more important in my eyes then the results he had from 2 historically bad programs. Barnes two previous stops before Texas was Providence from 88-94 where he made the tourney 3 times with 3 first round losses and Clemson from 94-98 with 3 tournament appearances and 2 first round exits and he was very successful at Texas because of the brand. Fact of the matter is RT will have the resources he’s never had with a program with momentum from an Elite 8 appearance and a brand new stadium. He’ll recruit well because of the brand and has seen what kind of team he wants to have. His contract is half of what beard was making and the buyout won’t be insane so if 3 years from now it’s not great, cut ties. But this moment in time, there’s not someone better for the spot that’s feasible.
