  1. It helped that I had bought this thing for only about $25, but it worked out fine and continues to take good, sharp images.
  2. Found them. You use the rubber stopper thing to remove the trim ring, then the spanner to remove the ring that holds the outer element, which then just kind of comes out. Then the aperture assembly comes out. I think I just soaked it in acetone (nail polish remover), but can’t remember for sure. Manually actuated it a lot to work the acetone between the blades to dissolve the oil, waited for it to dry, then re-assembled.
  3. They are pretty easy to take apart if you want to try to fix it. I fixed my FD 50 1.4 SSC myself that suffered from that issue. Let me see if I have photos of it. You’ll need this: Neewer Camera Lens Openning Repairing Tool Kit Includes: 10-100mm Lens Repair Set with 3 Tips, 6 Screws and 2 Hexagon Wrench for Canon Nikon Sony Olympus DSLR Camera https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0734PH87W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_WYPBQT7HT5THXVZ8QXJ2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 And something like this, BUT you can probably find a grommet or something similar in the hardware section at Walmart. I think that’s what I did. 4. Yeah, Trevor’s great. A true F1 fan, too.
  5. Sky published some more footage and a one-on-one that Lewis and Valentino Rossi did back in 2020 when they did the F1 car/MotoGP bike swap. Pretty cool. I didn’t realize that Lewis did 59 laps at Valencia (the MotoGP circuit not the old street circuit) a few days before this with Morbidelli (also peep James Vowles there, both he and Bono ride as well). That must have been a tiring day. Also, Rossi says that at one point in 2006 he was kinda close to driving for Ferrari, but ultimately says he wasn’t as good on 4 wheels as he was on 2, and since he wasn’t “ready” to stop riding, he continued with motorcycles.
  6. If one of them hasn’t recovered by then I would think they’d use Herbie Blash for the weekend. I do think that he’d have to inspect the new surface too, though. Not saying he can’t do that, but I am not sure how that process works.
  7. I should say, he did try to buy out Haas a bunch of times (and had a preliminary deal with Sauber), but currently they are trying to become a new entry.
  8. Ferrari Driver Academy is pretty bare at the moment. They have Schwartzman in F2 who is OK and is Ferrari’s current test driver, but he’s not spectacular (he’s also Russian, but competes under the Israeli flag now), and Arthur Leclerc in F3 who is ok but not even close to what his brother is.
  9. This doesn’t really help you since you’re staying in West Yellowstone, but just as an aside, when I went to YELL and GRTE from SLC, I stayed in Logan for the night and then cut through the Wasatch and went up around Bear Lake and eventually into Wyoming that way, into Jackson and eventually the South YELL entrance. It’s at least much more interesting than the normal highway drive. Some parts are still boring, but was worth it overall.
  10. The field, in general, is really damn good right now. It will be even better when Piastri gets a seat (which may be in a Williams next year).
  11. I’m just glad Latifi didn’t crash this time. But yeah.
  12. It was a covid casualty, but they are seemingly bringing it back now.
  13. Yes, bring the cool down room permanently back pls.
  14. O hey I saw her (and Jacques) at the 2014 USGP.
  15. Yeah, but they haven’t actually brought anything to fix their issues yet. They are naturally going to go backwards relative to the competition who have upgraded their cars some. Look at Aston, they were hopeless just a few races ago, but have brought some updates and are doing a bit better now. A lot of the qualifying speed issues also come from tire warmup, which is a separate issue but one they need to workout just as much (they have always struggled with this, though). If they are still shitty after Barcelona then yeah they might be turbo fucked, at least for this year.
  16. Silverstone, Monaco, Spa, Suzuka. Those are my 4. I can’t kick one out.
  17. Race day! James Hunt Who else? Scheckter actually took the lead going into T1 and Led for a bit But Hunt eventually got by And won the race Coca Cola and champs to the winner

  19. Got a cool little something for you all. I acquired some old press photo slides of the 1976 USGP at Watkins Glen and went ahead and scanned them using my DSLR, and the results were fun. These were shot on Ektachrome. The action shots are only so-so, but the rest are mostly great. 20. Apparently I’m in the minority, but I like that change. Qualifying and racing are two different things, so recognizing the person that goes fastest in that format is the correct move, I think. I of course abhor the sprint race in its current format anyway, so if we were to remove its affiliation with the race starting grid, that would make it better.
