  1. Thanks a lot, y’all. Subway is a fuck of a hike. Done it twice now, but the first time was in the spring. Pro tip, do NOT do it in the spring. I have been there….7 times now (and driven thru 2 or 3 more times), and I have concluded that early November is the absolute perfect time to visit. Talked to a 65 year old down there that was on his 6th subway hike. Cool dude. I will try to use some lower res ones for here next time. I know it can kinda clog it up a bit with a lot of full res stuff.
  2. Yes, their engine division is in a separate location, in Brixworth. They started as Ilmor in the 80s and were eventually taken over completely by Daimler. They do make 100% of the power unit stuff, though. None is done by the car side.
  3. There used to be like official 3 hour long season reviews that would tell you everything without having to invest the time to watch every single race beginning to end. Those may be on F1TV for those years, not sure.
  4. No way. It’s not my job to make you change your mind on your own opinion. I do not care what or how you think of anything or anyone.
  5. Pretty salty in here today.
  6. But in other news, Guanyu Zhou was confirmed for Alfa next year. Not really excited about it tbh.
  7. ^ That has always been “allowed”, and Lewis plays it right on the edge, which he’s very good at. He also stayed on the track. But anyway, whatabouting to things that happened 6 years ago doesn’t really benefit the current discussion.
  8. Yeah, Canon is very proud of their RF stuff, and it’s priced as such. Unfortunately the third party options are still slim pickings.
  9. I had that Tokina 11-16 when I shot on a 7D. I liked it. I might’ve gotten the 11-20 but went with a native 16-35 instead.
  10. I had Mitchell tonight. Was down 1.2 points at the end of the game and lucky for me SF decided to do this The deficit went to down by .1, then he lost 4 yards, then that 8 yard carry put me over. Thanks, Shanahan!
  11. *Disclaimer: the engine mode rules are part of a technical directive, so we don’t have access to the exact wording/ruling for it* The manufacturer provides the same power unit hardware and engine modes, but the customer teams pretty much just use the more “standard” modes for a few reasons: 1) their individual cooling packages are almost never as good as the works team (though there was that time where Merc miscalculated the cooling requirements on the W09 which hurt them some on the engine side that year) 2) they are always going to be more conservative since they don’t have all of the same ingrained knowledge of the power units as a works team (there are actually engine manufacturer technicians deployed to the customer teams by the manufacturer). I do believe that they can choose to take an older spec as well. Like say Ferrari introduces their upgrade, and it needs X amount of cooling capacity. Haas might opt to take the old spec because they cannot achieve that capacity without significant aero loss or cost investment, or maybe they take the new one and just run it in a less powerful mode, etc. A lot of this depends on the weather and the circuit, too. Relating to the disclaimer above, I am not sure on exactly when they have to make any upgraded spec components available to the customer teams.
  12. They are essentially running “party mode” (remember that??) the entire time now since this unit only has to last 4 races instead of 7/8. Plus, they still have the Turkey (I think) engine that can do the FP 1/2 sessions.
  13. Yeah. I think the €20k is like a probation type thing but I’m not totally sure.
  14. As a Mercedes fan, me too, lol.
  15. I don’t think the Max move is over with yet either, pending the onboard view. Think we may see a protest lodged.
  16. Quietly a good race for Lando after lap 1. The retirements helped, but still.
  17. Black and white flag. Fuck off, Max.
  18. Goddamn that was some Austria 2019 shit.
  19. Lol, the penalty system was literally changed because the Hondas kept failing so much a few years ago.
  20. They are, and my reply was mostly sarcasm, because this stuff happens relatively often. They want to make sure they don’t get caught out for the same thing. Everyone on mediums to start the race except TSU on sorts.
