  1. 2 Killed, 2 just out of surgery. Holy shit.
  2. That's how it appears. They're neighboring suburbs though so it wouldn't have taken long to get from one to the other. I just spoke to my In-laws who live right on the border of the two. They were woken up by the emergency notice to shelter in place, and just got another to stay inside and not open the door.
  3. Jeebus, this is bad. https://www.fox9.com/news/melissa-hortman-john-hoffman-lawmakers-shot-minnesota
  4. I stand by the above post, but I hadn't realized that this thread was as long as it is- so it's unlikely those haven't already been suggested. Here's a deep cut for the Miss category though. For those of you who don't remember, this was a Cyrano de Bergerac adaptation in which Thurman (looks) and Garofalo (personality) combined efforts and fooled a dude into thinking they were one person. The problem- and I'll go to my grave with this opinion- is that Garofalo is way better looking that Thurman in this movie.
  5. Dammit! Cheapest fruit in the grocery store.
  6. Disgusting, but doesn't really matter. He's convicted of state charges too. They'll simply move him to a state prison for the duration of that sentence- because Walz is sure as he'll not letting him go.
  7. Sure, that. But even so, he has already effectively repealed the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/02/pausing-foreign-corrupt-practices-act-enforcement-to-further-american-economic-and-national-security/
  8. I've always been partial to this one.
  9. I don't have any knowledge of GPS programmable perimeters. I think you're kidding with what the post above infers but for others, if not you, I want to encourage to have reasonable, and humane, expectations about training, effectiveness, and how it's supposed to work. There are two categories of eCollar- I use both. They are both good training aids but have slightly different purposes. However, the goal in both is to not have to zap. 1) Active monitoring (you have the remote and utilize the collar to reinforce verbal commands). This is like an invisible leash. It took about two weeks until the vibrate-only feature and command were enough, and another month until the command itself was reliable. 2) Passive Monitoring (you set a perimeter that the dog learns- though training not pain- not to cross). This is your invisible fence, and what you appear to be asking about. It took two weeks of consistent daily training for each of my dogs on our electric fence (buried line). Assuming you have the ability to physically flag the boundaries at the lake and work daily on it up to Memorial, I don't think the GPS version would be any different. Please don't just set a parameter and leave it to the ZAP to tell them they've gone too far. It will only terrorize and confuse your dog.
  10. We just stocked up on batteries, paper towels, and toilet paper, but who knows.
  11. I'm not giving up yet, but I'm getting serious "Silo" Season 2 vibes here, in that we're introduced to and force fed a bunch of new characters that are just flat out non-compelling- either because they're poorly written, or played by shitty, miscast actors. Obviously, in both Silo and (and especially) Last of Us, the source material is pretty rigid. However, there are creative and casting decisions that I think are going to hurt them this season. And all that's to say nothing about Bella, who I actually still like in her role, though it remains to be seen (for me at least), whether she can evolve the character in season 2.
  12. Wordle 1,402 2/6 🟩🟩⬜🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  13. Oldie but goodie. I thought the one in 2018 was better though: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-was-only-joking-about-japanese-bowling-ball-test-cars-n857111 The truth is, regulatory hurdles are actually real (the bowling ball test is not). The article cites an example of one with Japan and how the disparity was addressed under the Obama administration (by, you know, talking). One problem though....
  14. It just occurred to me, that observing the market over the past week is a lot like back during and after Covid when I dabbled with the OTC for fun. Random, volatile as hell, and shady as all get out.
  15. I think it's going to slide more here at the end. There was some money made today, but who wants to hold overnight? Too much can happen.
  16. Aaaand the EU just responded with 25% tariffs.
  17. S&P actually has some green to it now. Might end up being a fairly neutral day.
  18. Nevermind, yes I will. But only because you gave into my demands.
  19. I'm all cash, baby. But I'm willing to put it aside to hear your financial analysis of the situation (because you haven't actually given any yet). Nevermind, no I won't.
  20. Yeah, I think the unpredictability of it all is the thing. Usually when something really bad happens it can't be undone, and there's a formula that follows. This, at least partially, can be undone so there's a variable in the calculus that's not usually there.
  21. The market further collapsed today (but don't mention why). The market at one point surged (but don't mention the report that Trump was considering a 90 day pause). The market then tanked again (but don't mention the White House calling the report fake news). This thread is much, much more reserved than the thread In Cloak (that's why I'm here), but come on. We don't have to pretend it's not a the thing.
