  1. Your friendly reminder that people like this and people like this and this honestly and earnestly think they are being advocated for by people like this and this and this
  2. Nothing inspires unity in a country faster than a common enemy.
  3. Oops. I meant @Al_4_ISU. Anyway, I feel like tbone's only goal next week is to get back out with his balls intact, but there is a lengthy thread on Twin Cities recs.
  4. Oh man. Be gentle @ISU Fan.
  5. And here's why none of this shit matters. Front Page:
  6. https://www.politico.com/news/2025/02/13/forest-services-fires-3400-employees-00204213 Don't worry, the firefighters aren't affected (yet), just the thousands of staff who work to prevent fires. It'll be fine. For clarity, This is the National Forest Service, which is far more relevant to me where I live and visit.
  7. Meanwhile, every teen-aged boy in the Metro... Including my son, who hasn't worn a jacket, besides when skiing, all winter.
  8. Depends where you're going. You could spend a month downtown and literally never step outside.
  9. Sure. But the gif is a 1993 movie about the summer of 1962. Also a little ironic, given your soapbox argument, that you said "his father failed him".
  10. English cheddar is my favorite cheese. I especially like when it's got those little crystallization in it.
  11. Borderline Personality Disorder. I'd bet my mortgage on it.
  12. What's the accomplishment? That they scaled the building without safety equipment? Hundreds of Chinese construction workers did that every day building it.
  13. Yeah, the analogy would (maybe) hold if the DOGE kids were currently auditing the Pecos County Commissioner's office.
  14. This is the one challenging cuts of Federal funding for hospitals that perform gender affirming care: https://clearinghouse.net/doc/155016/ Honestly it seems kind of emotional for a legal document- It reads more like a press release. Here's the (much more traditionally written) PFLAG lawsuit against the same order: https://clearinghouse.net/doc/154829/
  15. Dr. Lucky Tran... Not in this administration.
  16. I imagined this being read in the manner of some random rube calling in to the Jim Rome Show circa 1996.
  17. I remember the first time I was asked to explain to my son the roles of three branches of government as well as the idea, and criticality, of separation of powers and oversight. He was 4. It was difficult but worth it. This is not worth it.
  18. "Triggered" is a bit over the top, but come on. The same Time magazine that put him on the cover as "Man of the Year" a month ago, and he doesn't know if they're still in business...
  19. That's Jon Lampley on the trumpet. He's on Colbert's Late Show band and works with Cory Wong as well. There's a cool thing going on right now, in that there's about 30 or 40 musicians all floating around with different projects within the Jazz/Pop/Funk fusion wave. Here's Jon with Dirty Loops.
  20. True, but don't sleep on the Nerd Reich.
