  1. ^^although string was a bit slow to pickup that being the smartest motherfucker on the corner doesn't make him ready to cut cards with the real sharks

that scene where avon and stringer are reminiscing on the rooftop, both already having secretly betrayed the other - greatness

Jose Chung is my favorite.  Not only does it have Alex Trebek and Jesse Ventura as the "men in black" and Charles Nelson Riley,  it has my favorite X-Files quote, "I didn't play Dungeons and Dragons all those years without learning something about courage."

Plus the inaccurate memory scene where Mulder and Scully switch personalities.  And the scene where Mulder eats all the pies.  And the chain smoking alien saying “this is not happening”.  That’s another fantastic episode.  More on the zany side, but greatness.

  3. Is there such a thing as an all in one grinding brewing machine that is worth a shit/won't break immediately?  I require my coffee to brew on a timer so that it can be ready for me to stumble over to and pour when I wake up.  I used to get beans from Andersons when I lived up north (and drank much less coffee), but now that I'm south, I discovered Third Coast and love their medium roasts.  But I think I'm still a relative heathen getting them ground for my black and decker basket drip.

  4. Meanwhile we have people reporting coyote sightings.  No shit, they’re indigenous.  If you’re worried about your cat that you let roam free, just remember that it is the one that’s the invasive predator.

  5. Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose

It's everything that's great about the series, with an incredible performance from Peter Boyle on top.  Even without Boyle, this post credits scene is great

I wish every murderous asshole would get a chance to have their moment with Clyde Bruckman

I'm thinking through my list of best episodes, and it's heavy on season 3 - D.P.O., Pusher, Clyde Bruckman's From Outer Space.  Possibly because I had that season on VHS.  Squeeze (season 1) and Tooms.  Home (creepy as fuck).  I might go back and rewatch a lot of the monster of the week episodes.

But it's Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose.

  6. The gulp text was hilarious, but this was also a pretty good background chuckle -

    a) everyone else has acting headshots up and is a barista/works at the gap then there's Barry, the auto parts salesman from Cleveland with the DL photo where he looks like a murderer or at least a peeping tom

"My gut says we're missing something"
"Boss, do you think any of these cupcakes could honestly be a criminal?"

also, the black guy - "ties to drug dealers", and they guy whose picture he's holding "has part in CSI"

That's the magic bullet.  It definitely works, but you have to be careful -- use more than necessary and you'll probably taste it.

Do you have a recipe that definitely works with the sodium citrate?  Tried it for the Super Bowl, and it wasn't perfect, but I was making a trillion other things and may not have found a good recipe or exercised proper care.

  8. The picadillo - http://www.geniuskitchen.com/recipe/mexican-hash-picadillo-65159 .  You're going to want to drain the meat pretty well after cooking/keep the amount of liquid down.  Then put roughly 2 cups of that per pillsbury pie crust, fold/close, brush some whisked egg on it, into the oven at 400 for 25 minutes.  That picadillo recipe made enough for 4.  We managed to eat just a bit more than 1 before we were done (empanadas make great leftovers, will see if they stand up as well cut into wedges).

oh and I put some cotija cheese on top, as well as a little bit inside when making the empanada.  queso fresco would probably be a bit better.
