  1. Kulusevski being out of the lineup is kind of glaring right now. I feel like the punch he brings with the attack is just not there and totally missing.
  2. Are you fucking kidding? I just turned the game on!!!
  3. I'm not even sure it was that late. I think the front office lost the plot before the UCL final. Poch would be gone less than 6 months after that final, but clearly the issues had started before his firing and likely before the UCL final. The stadium would open in April of that year and that was a big moment for the club. One thing that went out with Poch, and very possibly before - was his vision of what to do with the club. And without a path of what to do, they are going to be lost. Good read that addresses some of this: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5928008/2024/11/19/pochettino-fifth-anniversary/ Anyway - who knows? But going back to the Ange talk - I just hope the team stick with him more for consistency and seeing if they can keep advancing. I don't see what firing him will get you.
  4. this was one of the things that Breaking Twitter really showed - the guy has no ability to read the room. They talked about his appearance at the Chappelle show and his Super Bowl Tweet and his appearance at the World Cup final - and though all of that thought posting that poll "Should I step down as Twitter CEO" was a good idea. I know he can (and does) blame it on "being on the spectrum", but the dude wants a public life, so what does he expect?

  6. Also - it's game day Motherfuckers! Europa League - let's see what we can do!
  7. Running against Paxton? That doesn't really make much sense financially. I'm pretty sure that paying off Paxton is pretty much cheaper and easier than running against Paxton.
  8. Maybe, but IMHO, like other here (@Schulz2.0), I think the problem isn't COMPLETELY the manager and more on the club. What I would like is a real fucking plan from the organization! Since they dumped Poch with little to no plan, the managerial job has been a rotating door! Mourinho (2019–21) - hired mid-season, fired mid-season Masoni (2021) - interim Nuno (2021) - fired after 17 games!!! Conte (2021–23) - hired mid-season, fired mid-season Stellinii (2023) - interim and we had to fire him Masoni (2023) - interim Postecoglou (2023–) If you include Poch in that, you're talking 8 managers across 5 seasons (which is now 6 seasons)!!! WTF!?!?!?!? The club is a mess and while maybe the manager is wrong, this is like complaining about the table settings on the fucking Titanic.

  10. I don't see it happening. The guy has always been this asshole, we just didn't see it. So I finished reading this. The basic gist I finally came away with is that his biggest mistake was buying something as public facing as Twitter - and by that I mean their day to days. Because he was able to do stuff at SpaceX and Tesla through force of will and being an asshole because it was behind closed doors. Social media and Twitter isn't like that. He was on very public display being the top dog at Twitter. And the JUST DO IT force of will he exerted at Tesla and SpaceX, behind closed doors worked. Twitter - just makes him an asshole. What this book really showed me? He shouldn't run a fucking lemonade stand, much less be a CEO. AND MUCH LESS be a CEO of however many companies he is the CEO of. The guy is a fucking idiot. Oh and the book end with him naming Yaccarino as CEO.
  11. It's a good thing that Ange doesn't have the force, because that dude has some fucking thin skin. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/apr/09/ange-postecoglou-tottenham-europa-league-quarter-final-eintracht-frankfurt

  15. My family was solid lower middle class but my parents both grew up not as well off. The stories of my dad's father - building his own car, building his own house, made his kids dig a swimming pool, with dynamite. Both of them instilled a frugal-ness in me and my siblings and some of that stuff sticks even to today (though I am breaking it slowly) Some of the stuff that stands out to me: Squeezing every last living drop out of every thing - toothpaste, condiments, etc. We weren't allowed to open new stuff until the other one was bone dry. To this day I still flatten my toothpaste out and get every damn drop of toothpaste out of the tube Rarely getting name brand anything, when I did it was from one of the discount stores, usually irregular. Always buying the cheapest car possible - I think I graduated high school before my parents got a car with power windows. Buying the cheapest everything - it wasn't just cars, my parents wouldn't spend any more than the bare minimum on anything and my dad would fix it to keep it going as long as possible (I actually don't mind having this skill now) My mom making our birthday cake every year instead of those cool ones from the store (now that said - I never realized how much better I really was getting on this). Those are the first that come off the top of my head. Oh and this

  17. He is no different than any other tech bro of the last 30 years. They were lucky, they got rich and they confuse their luck with skill. And he is of the same vein as Trump in his hucksterism. First let's look at the luck. He came up with a few ideas in the 90s, which culminated with X.com. Like most of us, you probably never heard of it (I only barely knew about the 90s version), and they were in the right place and right time and were bough up by PayPal and made a boat load of money. But he did shitty there and was forced out. But still rich. Then he invested in Tesla. And he did OK. But they nearly went bankrupt in 2008, except for a government bailout and around 2018 when the model 3 nearly broke them, but using regulatory credits was able to get them back on track. But this is where the hucksterism comes in. In exchange for taking no salary around that time, Musk was gifted that massive stock package for meeting stock metrics. And from that time on, he started to become a weaver of the future of Tesla. Most of which hasn't been achieved. Full Self Driving. Battery Swap out Stations, Humanoid Robots, RoboTaxis, etc. They make a great story, and people lap it up, like their stock and his net worth goes up. But it's all vaporware. I will give him one piece of credit, at at least prior to 2018. He either had a good eye for top level management or had the right person working under him that did, because he assembled some good teams because he had management in place that could do that. IE SpaceX - this is really the work of Gwynne Shotwell. She is THE reason they is successful, not Elon. Tesla did something right back with the Models S and X. But that management team has also left. But he's not all rainbows and lollypops. Remember SunCity? The Boring Company? Zip2? Hell even Tesla right now is stagnating and SpaceX is struggling to take their next step.
  18. The TL;DR the TL;DR: It's a grift. The TL;DR - this is Elmo gaming the market. He's diluting XAi and X stock to give them "value", but no money is being made or even changing hands. Let's not forget that neither X nor XAi are publicaly traded companies, so this is immaginary paper value. Ed Elson covered this last week on his show and sums it up well (cued up).
  19. I'm currently reading Breaking Twitter. It's kind of like a short oral history of Twitter around the time when Elon buys it. It starts 2 years prior and I'm assuming its maybe the 6 months after. Musk bought it the end of Oct 2022 and the book came out in Nov 2023. It's a fun and silly read, it really shows the sausage making of how Elon fucked things up. Dude is an idiot.
