“It’s a mute point.”  She busted out that gem for the 12,348th time yesterday.  My response was “Shit I wish it was. Nothing with you is mute.”  She has also begun grossly overusing the word “narrative”.  At the slightest disagreement she’ll say something like “stop trying to control the narrative!”  Drives me fucking crazy.

    Stop gas-lighting...

If one more co-worker brings up chat gpt at the office I'm going to lose my shit.  Quit acting like a glorified google search tool is making you so much more effective because you lack the skills to string together a coherent and convincing series of words in a customer email.  It's quite easy to tell a chat gpt generated email from a human generated email.  It makes you look like a hack.

Wonder how many posters use GPT to shit post on here?

    It's really a great all-around story:

    Quote

They say that they witnessed a man "audibly disgruntled" about something and that the man was grumbling about something under his breath.

After most passengers were seated, the redditor says they overheard the disgruntled man say, "You thought that was rude? Well how about this smell?" before passing gas.

The man then proceeds to complain about the smell of food from other passengers and then gets in an argument with other passengers, the redditor says.

Flight attendants had to reportedly intervene to calm the disgruntled man.

The redditor says as the plane headed towards the runway, it stopped, and it was announced that the plane was returning to the gate.

Upon arrival at the gate, the redditor says they overhear a flight attendant inform the disgruntled man that he would not be able to remain on the flight. The disgruntled man reportedly said "I don't understand" but got off the plane quietly.

I specifically remember Texas being penalized against Tech for guns down in a game where one of they didn't get called for horns down.

Maybe not worth a new post but thought it'd be easier to find for a day or two. If you feel like arguing with the idiots that keep bringing this up, maybe this will help.
40:40 - The TD play where Davis holsters his shooty fingers.
    41:03 - The first holstering.
41:12 - The second holstering in the endzone celebration with his buds.
41:35 - Ref announces penalty. (Announcers guess wrong about why.)
42:36 - After break, announcers say why he was penalized.

Rape victims not too pleased about Acevedo’s hiring….

When are the women going to march on City Hall to protest while the City of Austin continues with its tone deaf policies.

They were raped during the Obama era, why didn't they blame him?  It's just a BS argument to blame the Chief because of some inept departments so far downstream.  Don't get me wrong, I'm no Art fan, but for other reasons he was more directly involved in.  Dude spent more time trying to whore his way on camera than actually doing his job.

Can we add that month to late summer/early fall....I love that time of year?   PLUS more 4 more weeks of football!!!

So, we're now looking at a shortfall of a day and a quarter every year, vs just the quarter of a day or so?  Let's do it, then every 291.2 years or so, instead of a leap day, we'll have an actual leap year, and we can all stay home for a year and just get trashed.

Watson went total politico on his way out the last time.  The man is worthless.

This is the best part.  The bulk of Austin voters can remember the last few days and that's about it.  All the new residents don't recall the previous dumpster fires (see: Romeo Rose and Fitlove), so if you don't win this time around, just wait a cycle or two and try your schtick again.

But, in Watson's defense, it was literally the race of the turd sandwich vs the douchebag.

Yeah we hear this literally every year.

Gundy just keeps "lucking" his way into 10-win seasons over and over again.

We basically have our entire team back this coming year plus we get our best WR back (Stribling) who missed basically the entire year.

Unless we have an injury wipeout year like we did in 2022 we'll be around the top of the league again.

Horse shoes and hand grenades.  Around the top vs at the top...

You have every right to that opinion, but like @gsoda3 said, this was Interim City Manager Jesus Garza's decision, not District Attorney Jose Garza's.

I was addressing the quote from Jose Garza, who has no moral ground to stand on.  Fuckstain wants to call Art out for letting rapists off the hook, all the while he lets sexual predators, rapists, and murders walk out of jail on reduced or $0 bonds.

But my overall point is elected officials set this shit-show in motion by electing people like Watson and the city council.

    1. Art was chief of police from 2007 to 2016. Yes, she was coming of age during that time frame. Don't you recall the political talk radio show she had for a hot minute in the 2014-2015 timeframe?

    2. Art's hiring is all on Watson/Garza, not the City Council (this time). Go look into the Art thread where it's spelled out that not only did the Council not have input, but they weren't even informed until just before it was announced. All of them, except for Kelly, are rightfully pissed.

    1. CGF came about DURING his tenure, but I highly doubt she gave a single f about anything political at the time.  She was an aspiring firefighter and sharpie hider.  And I never gave a single listen to her talk show, just figured it was a way for her to try and entrap some politicians into a live cam show.

    2. We elect the 10+1, they vet / appoint the City Manager, who then goes and hires Art.  Frankly, the fact most of the council is up in arms about it makes me think it might be a good hire.  But then I remember it's Art.  So not sure which side to take.

Art at least you didn't get raped Acevedo, Don't charge anyone DA Jose Garza, dipshit homeless have more rights than citizens Gerg Casar, and Fitlump...

WTF is wrong with the "leadership" in this city?

Most of the leadership is elected by the citizens of Austin, so the question is really, what is wrong with the dipshits within the city limits who elect Casar, Jose, Adler, Fitlump*, etc.

*As much as it pains me to say, FitLump might be the best candidate on that dais.

I guess Kelly and conservatives have just forgotten Art’s well documented history of ignorantly running his mouth about gun control in the wake of tragedies? Time to buy another thin blue line car decal and clean their tongues to lick the boot, I guess.

I don't think CamGirlFaith had even come of age when Acevedo was around.  And I'd bet my last dollar she wasn't paying attention to politics when she was busy getting bolt-ons.

My Dad passed on buying a 400 acre ranch on the north shore of Lake Travis for $100/acre in 1958.
It had almost a half mile of waterfront.
    Oh well.

Now it's a 700 acre ranch that borders a creek.

Saying Houston drivers suck does not mean Austin drivers are great.  They're just different kind of suck.

But, yes, as someone else said... Houston drivers ARE trying to kill you.  Was in Houston for three days... saw a dozen red light runners in three days at ONE intersection by my parents' house.  Every time I was at that intersection, at least one car blew through.  Three years ago friends were totally tagged by a red light runner.  Houston driving is a death wish.  THUS... yeah, Austin has dummies... they'll piss you off but they probably won't kill you.  Houston is at the top of the Crazy/Hot scale with hot meaning sweaty, not pretty.

And oddly enough, just walked over to my neighbor's house, and he had some hideously newish car in his garage.  Asked him what that piece of crap was doing in his garage, and he told me they just got back from a trip the other day, and while driving through Houston, his truck was sideswiped by some clown trying to thread the needle from the left lane to their exit.  So he's stuck with a rental while his truck is in the shop.

Oddly enough, I drove Houston for a year and a half daily in 2009 and 2010, no accidents or incidents.
