  1. Script Pitt, as we call it, is actually based on the signature of William Pitt, The Younger. He was the Prime Minister of England in the years following the Revolutionary War. Pittsburgh though, is named for his father William Pitt, The Elder. The basketball team used to have a closer representative of Pitt's signature on the jersey until 1985, I think. Then they adopted the one from the helmet. That softer version was designed by Johnny Major when he came in 1973. He also designed the football uniform. Majors hated the uniform change to DinoCat in 1997. That was courtesy of Idiot Steve Pederson.
  2. That’s sharp
  3. 1. Pitt (homes) 2. UNC (homes) 3. SMU (homes) 4. Miami (homes) 5. Clemson (homes) Syracuse and Virginia Tech would be in contention if they went back to their 25-years ago uniforms.
  4. Went down to the World Trade Center yesterday
  5. Just drove past the exit on my way to NYC
  6. From that link: He was then asked whether he still had the passion to continue racing and Hamilton was more emphatic. “No, I still love it, I still love the team,” the 40-year-old said. ----------------------------------------- Of course he still loves it/the team. They are paying him a very large amount of money, and from reports, a lot of it not tied to racing, rather his off-track projects. Some, including this website link, have put the deal worth over $400,000,000. Kudos for him being able to get that deal. https://www.planetf1.com/news/lewis-hamilton-ferrari-salary-details
  7. I'm not trying to be argumentative as I agree on the fantastic ball of confusion that surrounds Ferrari. It's astounding that they shoot themselves in the foot so often. Even with all of the dramatic fuck-ups Ferrari has finished second in the constructor's championship seven times, since and including 2012 and are currently second. They have also finished third five times, since and including 2010. Obviously the third-place finishes are much, much less impressive than the seconds, and they have not won a driver's title since 2007. Hamilton has two victories in his last 82 races. I just think at 40 years old he isn't up to snuff. I think the same about Alonso, who has not won in 203 races. I think LeClerc has six wins in his last 80 races. And yes, there are a ton of factors that go into it all. I agree with your son
  8. That was baffling by Ferrari but, on par for recent history. I felt a bit bad for LeClerc cuz he seems like a good guy. As for Hamilton, I've said it before, I think he's done. His car at Mercedes was light years ahead of the competition. He still drove so very well but, I rate Schumacher above Hamilton is the greatest-ever discussion. I think Schumacher had more to do with building teams and making teams & cars better. That's just my opinion. Schumacher's winning % is 29.7 and Hamilton is now at 28.37. That was a great job by Lando running so many laps on those tires, and holding off a couple of dives by Piastri. I was pretty certain that in those final four laps, or so, that Lando would lock up in a turn and lose position. Well done. The top-10 from today is kind of nuts too. Alonso is 5th, Bortoleto in 6th, Stroll in 7th and Lawson in 8th; all in front of Max. Now we have to wait until the 29th for P1 at Zandvoort.
  9. It’s just the name I gave to a party we started having in 2018. It was the summer after my mother died and we had other deaths in the family and I figured a bunch of us needed some fun. I put a bunch of meat on my pellet smokers, limited sides. Lots of Bier and good-natured ribbing. Today I did three beef tenderloin, two pork loins, salmon, & chicken. Some ginger slaw for the one pork loin I turned into something similar to a pulled pork, some Asian cucumbers, and pies from the Oakmont Bakery. It was great fun. Probably about 40 people.
  10. I didn’t get to watch much. I saw bits and pieces as I was getting stuff ready here for MeatFestVIII here at the house today. I’ll have to watch the highlights a bit later. I kinda like LeClerc.
  11. So far nobody has said anything about it. Well done, Chuck. Amazing how the RedBulls are shit now.
  12. no dickin' around in that league!
  13. "That green thing" "We're not sure where it came from"
  14. Is that worse than the wig on the floor?
  15. Mrs Usyk? Just kidding. I can't disagree with what you said. The dude is amazing. He's amazing for 46.
  16. I agree that it is time for a complete re-boot, or extermination, of Renault/Alpine. I wanted them to succeed as I like as many different constructors and engines as possible. And I still have fond memories of Schumacher’s second title with Renault power. I too like Nico. He’s got a dry sense of humor and good timing. Karun is horrible. I try to not watch the pre-race show. I do go straight to YouTube to watch the post-race show though to see the interviews from drivers through the field. I guess Horner could also dip into the Spice Girl $$$ from Geri. I’m glad I saw that first-lap pass by Oscar before I kind of fell asleep on the couch.
  17. Norris with some electrical issue it seems which I reckon helped Piastri
  18. Piastri with a brilliant move for the lead at the top of the hill.
  19. Safety Car still on the track, four laps down. Should be about to start. Now.
  20. Getting ready to start now. Two laps behind the Safety Car
  21. They said pretty bad weather for tomorrow’s race. Should be interesting
  22. Max with the win. Sainz, both Haas and Hadjar in the top-10. Well done
  23. Max got around Piastri on the first lap. The RedBull looks good. Reports that McLaren has temperature issues. Two Haas in top-seven halfway through the sprint
  24. Yes it was. Apparently the group did it first and Ozzy saw the first video and when he and Jack were doing their show they made sure to stop there and see them in person. Those kids will never forget that.
