  1. Not saying these particular kids wind up going to Texas, but... I wonder what it's like to live in a world where Brandon Jones, Joseph Ossai, Javonne Shepherd, Chance Mock, Kris Boyd, Holton Hill, Malcom Brown, Malik Jefferson, Traylon Shead, Marcus Davis, Tim Cole, Jake Oliver, Patrick Hudson, Jeffrey McCulloch, Deandre McNeal, Keontay Ingram, Jalen Green, Josh Moore, Jordan Whittington, Moro Ojomo, and David Snow all went to aggy? I'm sure I left more than a few players off the list that chinpubes and crew were just completely positive aggy was getting, but I think you get the idea. And yes, I know a few kids we thought were Texas locks that went to aggy. But our list is just a little bit longer. Only slightly.
  2. Irony, thy name is "aggy."
  3. I think they're talking about Willie Tyler - the Iowa JUCO kid they recruited late in the 2019 class. Kid was definitely a project, but I know the staff felt like all of the physical traits were there. The good news is that I'm pretty sure I remember that reading Tyler Johnson has also been solid. Kool-Aid for everyone.
  4. If anyone would know "systemic issues," it's Baylor fans. Also, as a general rule, are you really even allowed to talk shit about school you've never beaten more than twice in a row in almost a hundred fucking tries? A school that beat you sixteen straight times at one point? When that same school went 2-1 against you during that programs darkest hour?
  5. Katy could have lined up Case McCoy at running back and rushed for 300+ yards behind that OL.
  6. When I went to the 2015 (?) Katy vs. Taylor game, there were two ancient looking guys sitting behind us who spent most of the game talking about some super talented kid named "Christian" from the area. They said he had a really bad attitude about football and school. I don't remember much in the way of specifics, but I think refusing to take practice seriously, being high all the time, and ignoring/mouthing off at coaches were all on the list. I obviously don't know for sure that they were talking about Wallace, but... Katy's OL looked like it was composed of full grown men. Katy had Rodney Anderson and Kyle Porter and both ripped off multiple 50+ yard TDs. My wife and kids felt bad for Taylor. /csb
  7. I know he's playing in 3A and some of the players are just a little bit smaller, slower, and less agile than you'd see in higher levels. But all you can do is dominate the team you line up against and he looks incredible. I have no idea what kind of prospect he is - just that his highlights are kind of ridiculous and the 4.5 number on his HUDL page looks pretty accurate to me. I'm curious to see if a bunch of other teams start recruiting him. Direct link to his HUDL for anyone that's interested: http://www.hudl.com/v/2CY43K
  8. Baylor is just big enough for the NCAA to make an example of them and still small time enough that no one who matters will really give a shit. In other words, I cannot wait to see how this turns out. Might take a couple of years, but the payoff is going to be SO worth it.
  9. Coming soon to the SEC: Fentanyl Hubbard.
  10. This. If he isn't coming here, I'm fine with him at Baylor. He'd be an absolute nightmare for us somewhere like OU or LSU.
  11. Are you saying that there may have untoward motives behind Jimbo's decision to meet with Uncle Ro before any other coach when aggy hired him? How dare you, sir. Jimbo is very obviously a man of great integrity - just ask Meemaw and Looch. He would never do what you're implying here. Covering up for a rapist and serial sexual abuser "good kid in a bad situation," on the other hand... Jimbo's all about second chances, you know.
  12. This. I thought he was going to be nails as a pass rusher. Anyway, even though neither had much of an impact on the program, there are many worse things in life than getting a free bachelor's from Texas followed by free grad school. Congrats to both young men on their degrees and best of luck at their next stops.
  13. Wow. He doesn't even look Cro-Magnon man or even a Neanderthal like Orlando and Ash. He's something much more early-primitive. More like Homo ergaster or even an Australopithecus. I fully expect him to be our DC after Ash.
  14. With plenty of background in science, too. So I'd say it's definitely much more likely to be the Hayden Connor/Frank Okam/Dallas Griffin type of focus on academics.
  15. I believe his mom is an adjunct professor somewhere, so I'm guessing he's very serious about academics. Edit: She's a longtime educator with a master's and teaches at Lone Star CC. Looks like she has a pretty extensive background in science, as well: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tamikarsullivan/.
  16. Wow. He's out there making the right reads, running people down, looking good in pass coverage, wrapping up his tackles, stripping the football, getting off of blocks... Are we even allowed to recruit linebackers like that?
  17. In that case, I really, really hope Wells is right. Okam definitely seems like a (fast) rising star as a coach and it would be great to have him back. Hopefully, I have to come back soon to eat more crow after the fit I threw over this however many pages back.
  18. My understanding was that he was out as a candidate. I hope the people below are right - like I said, it would just make too much sense for him to coach here. He'd be another really solid hire. You have to think he'd be an amazing asset in terms of recruiting other Nigerian kids. A coach and former-player who was ultra focused on academics when he was here? A player who considered foregoing the NFL in favor of grad (med?) school? Yeah. I think Nigerian parents just might warm up to him. Just a little bit.
  19. I, like many people, shat all over the possibility of hiring Wizard, Jr. I threw a forum tantrum with much wailing and gnashing of teeth. With that in mind, I'm here to eat my crow. I was dead ass wrong. Herman's new staff is looking stout and I think Boulware was an awesome hire. I still strongly dislike Mensa, but he's made some really good decisions this off-season. Just imagine if he'd made these kinds of hard choices three years ago. Edit: I just wanted to add that I am still pissed about Okam. That hire would've been too perfect and made too much sense to happen.
  20. I really, really hope you're right. I believe it was one of the OB goons, so hopefully this is similar.
  21. Well, he is friends with Herman, so I would certainly guess that places him a pretty fair distance from "normal."
  22. Per 247, Snyder's all time recruiting list is composed of... Evan Curl and Winston Dimel (or, as I refer to them, "who the fuck are those guys?"). He should be an absolutely spectacular asset on the recruiting trail... https://247sports.com/Coach/Sean-Snyder-1625/
  23. Does he not look like an aluminum siding salesman from Iowa? Or even some aggy middle manager? Tell me I'm wrong. Please?
  24. Yeah, this guy should really help bring some enthusiasm...
