Given how Quinn has been playing the last 3 games, that doesn't seem hard to believe at all. I think Bond going down hurt him about as bad as Quinn's time away due to the injury. Bond was doing some incredible work every game, not just from making something about of Quinn's erratic throws but also by getting the ball around the LOS and making something happen. The lack of deep shots really just doesn't make sense other than he feels he never has enough time or he simply is afraid to throw it deep consistently.

How does a lack of deep shots not make sense? He’s terrible at it and he knows it. He wasn’t throwing deep when healthy.

Quinn’s passes get batted down because he slaps the football with his left hand immediately before he throws which tells the defense he is about to get rid of the ball.

The fade to Moore should have been outside to the back of the end zone and Moore should have caught it untouched. Instead Quinn throws it to the inside and Moore has to adjust and gets hit by the defender. Quinn’s terrible throws are making receivers adjust and become vulnerable to injury.

Throwing at the defenders head is also is a tell for them to get their hands up

I would be shocked if Quinn’s stock isn’t falling amongst NFL scouts and GM’s, and I’d go as far as to assume he’s currently off their radars as a day one draft pick with the one caveat that they “might” allow consideration that he’s been playing hurt since returning from OU and/or that his O-line has their own questions.  Quinn needs a special November/December to change that narrative

He probably was off quite a few day one boards the minute he got injured.  This was his year to show he can go injury free.  He isn't a big guy, and has a long list of injury issues.  That is not a good mix.  At this point there is no way he is first rounder.  His vertical passing game isn't just weak it's among the worst in NCAA.

Well, it's possible that good Quinn shows up, too.  The unpredictable nature of Quinn Ewers is fucking everything and everyone up, including Sark.

We had bursts of good Quinn yesterday, but not good Quinn all through the game.  I thought after that first drive, he might have turned the corner.

Seems reasonable, yes.  Either the run game or hitting a couple of deep balls.

"Good" Quinn at this point is completing a 5 yard pass to pre determined receiver based on the defensive look and that receiver makes the plays.  The "Good" Quinn that was elite against Bama hasn't been seen since that game.

Just wanna say, it's kind of odd that the two areas for which we had the most supreme confidence going into the year - QB and OL - seem to be the weak spots on the team.  In my unprofessional opinion, I think pass rushers are teeing off full speed on Quinn because he refuses to move in the pocket.  Just a step to the left, up, or right would alleviate so many of the sacks he's taking.  Yes, I know this has already been mentioned, but I'm speaking to the speed and angles at which he receives pressure.  It's almost as if the DL and LBs are told to just go straight at him because he'll f up whether they get to him or not.

/I don't really know what I'm trying to say.  I think I'm still hung over since the Horns forced my into my bourbon stash far earlier than I expected yesterday - first 2 mins.

Quinn's a game manager, not a playmaker.  If a unit is sup par, he is going to be sub par.  He doesn't elevate the play of anyone.

When Quinn is in zone, we are impossible to stop. The problem is that he goes through long stretches of being out of the zone, particularly after injury. I don't know how we fix this. It really seems all mental with him.

For Quinn to be in the zone the ol, rbs, and wrs all have to be making plays. None of that is happening right now.

That's not how GOOD run games work. It's pretty clear to see we barely have a run game and that is largely part of the problem. In the second half we were either getting stoned or getting called for holds on outside runs. Our running game isn't scaring anyone. We are in long yardage situations far too much whether it's ineffective running or penalties.

Agree. A feast or famine run game is misleading in the stats. Good run games consistently pick up good yards. We don’t have that right now.
