  1. I only have about 10 feet to project from so going with a mounted projector would give me about an 80 in screen. I've started looking at the new ultra short throw projectors that can fill my screen of about 110in and require no mounting (saving $800 or so). I'm watching this one for a sale, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FBNDGBK/?coliid=ILAENIMDNBIV
Samsung has a couple coming out soon too but they will probably be $4000+
I saw Samsungs latest short throw laser, which looked amazing but $$$$. I'm confused by the mount amount though. Aren't mounts only like $100? How are you getting to $800?
  2. @bradinatx make sure your pool builder installs a drain to prevent overflow. It most likely won’t be a problem where you are, but we all know how quickly we can get 8-10 inches of rain dumped on us here in Texas. The last thing you want to do is to have to run out in the rain to start draining the pool if it becomes too full. I’d also talk to him about installing a couple of drains on your decking to make sure the water doesn’t pond during heavy rain events. You don’t want standing water on your deck as it will lead to staining.

Some people have an auto fill on their pool as well so they don’t have to worry about the water level getting too low. I don’t have that on mine and I have mixed thoughts about it. On one hand, it’s nice to know your water level will remain constant if you go out of town. On the other hand, if you ever do develop a leak in your pool you won’t know it without discovering the physical evidence or recognizing it on your water bill.
This is what I want to add after the fact
  3. Why drain water out of the pool?  It will evaporate at some point and it doesnt hurt if it overflows a little.  When you drain, you lose chemicals.
I had to drain abt 5" out after the storms earlier this week and the water line is still at the decking. To not have done that wojld have flooded the entire yard and, maybe, the house.
  4. Speaking of electrical problems...i just got a new house and have an interesting problem. All the under cabinets lighting won't turn on. I've confirmed the breaker works and have even put in brand new bulbs. It is the last switch on a 3 plug (pole?) switch. All other fixtures on the relay work fine. What are the odds that every undermount light is broken? All the others work in the house, its just the kitchen.

  5. Follow The Idaho Painter on YouTube. He looks kinda douchy but he has really great videos.

I'm about to sell this house and needed to get stuff done quick and cheap. Bought the better grade SW paint from Lowes. I already had a lower pressure tip from another job so used that...310 graco green tip I think. I did set up dexter style in the garage but rest assured, that paint still gets everywhere. Also, no way you will find a ventilator right now w COVID so hope you already have one. I didnt pay attention and didnt wear it on the first coat which resulted in me tasting metal all day.

  6. I did it recently in my bathroom w a spray gun. What I learned:

The most important step to not skip is proper prep work. I.e. sanding, cleaning, taping, etc.

Select the right paint to make sure it won't peel or chip after

There is a pretty good learning curve on the gun. Not too heavy, not too light.

Cleanup still sucks either way if you want to make sure that gun works next time
