  1. Wut? Are you saying “another tribunal” is his way of saying “appellate court”? If he thinks that his ruling is correct, why would he think an appellate court would reverse him. Moreover, why would he want them to?
  2. Any idea why he would clam up on the stand after telling so many of his fellow attorneys what had happened? Surely he realized they would impeach his testimony. If McAfee doesn’t disqualify them, what are the chances he signs off on a pre-trial appeal of his decision? https://nypost.com/2024/03/05/us-news/evidence-mounts-against-fani-willis-as-new-witness-unearthed/ What do you mean by “signs off on a pre-trial appeal”?
  3. NSIAP, but in Texas, A person with a felony conviction can vote if they have finished the full terms of their sentence. This includes any periods of incarceration, parole, community supervision, and probation.
  4. Yep/. Also, you’re leaving out the potential charges for mass murder when fertilized embryos are destroyed. They can’t be frozen forever and currently, a lot of couple donate them for medical/scientific research.
  5. Nope. The trial court judge can just refuse to even have a hearing on the motion, if he chooses.
  6. If you believe that the system needs to be changed in order to prevent all of this shit, please propose some rules that we can adopt going forward. Also make sure to state whether these rules are to be universal or only applicable when a defendant is coming up (within some specific timeframe) on an election for public office, etc. I’m all for fixing problems, but I’m not sure how you fix the timetable fuckery that you take issue with.
  7. Like to Barr redacting the Mueller report? * The issue surrounding a redacted internal memo within the DOJ, where they discussed Mueller’s findings and conclusions? I’ll concede the “front-ran” portion for sure, at which point Mueller went public to counter that. Barr’s “thing” was twisting the conclusions and findings of Mueller in order to justify a decision to NOT prosecute DOTARD. What you are suggesting is something entirely different. What you are suggesting would be a scenario where there’s really no point to a special counsel at all. Just handle it all in house.
  8. So, when he gets asked “hey, what’s up with that special counsel report we have been waiting on?”…would Garland just reply, “I’m not going to release it because it was a terrible hatchet job. I’m not going to let you see it so just trust me, the attorney general, when I tell you I’m making the right call here.”? Seems problematic.
  9. Yeah. It’s like the nonsense “no gestapo in my Bastropo” people were losing their shit over, but this is actually happening.
  10. It wasn’t vanilla ice cream on top. It was Cereal Milk ice cream from Milk Bar (Christina Tosi). It’s fucking amazing. Heb just stopped carrying it (even when they’re open). It can still be found at Target though.
  11. As to your last comment, have you ever considered that the licensed contractors might be using undocumented labor?
  12. I’m just glad that they finally did away with the “thing” where a DV plate was allowed to use the spots, without the need for a placard.
  13. I did, and I do not. Doesn’t hold a candle to Narcos.
  14. Right. My point was that the idea proposed was not some novel idea.
  15. Worse than that…courts actually WILL intervene to ban/get rid of products they deem unsafe that have been approved by regulatory agencies. See, for example, the federal courts overturning/fucking with the FDA approval of the “abortion pill”. The revocation of the approval was overturned by the 5th Circuit. It seems like this expected SCOTIS ruling might give the 5th the precedent they need to revisit that issue and rule differently.
  16. It’s worth a read. I didn’t know him that well but any time his name came up, I was always talking about how much a nice/solid guy he was, deserving the success he was achieving. The tributes do a great job of showing how much he meant to people. He had been on a serious health kick over the last several years and was in really good shape, which is the real motherfucker to all of this.
  17. Is this thread really just going to not mention Saltburn?
  18. Lol. Maybe he was just dejected that we lost generally. Maybe he didn’t like the play call. Maybe he didn’t like the OL failure, etc. You have no fucking idea what he is specifically thinking with that reaction.
  19. Re: Colt’s thoughts on that play, how do you know that’s what he was thinking?
  20. Worthy actually was looking back for the ball, but in a totally different area. It was just weird.
  21. You’re confusing two different plays/flags. The “cut block” was the below the waist called on us when we were on D. Replay showed he did not initiate contact below the waist. The block in the back was committed against Watts, but likely after the play was over. In any event, because I’m not sure, can you block in the back at the LOS?
  22. At one point in the 1h. We stopped a guy short. Sideline ref immediately waved the chains ahead. Then when they actually spotted the ball, after the chains had moved, the ball, spotted correctly was at least a foot short.
