  1. What’s bizarre is that the flag was for just a run of the mill block in the back. I’m cynical, so my theory is that that official told the others what he flagged, at which point they said, “nope. Couldn’t have been a block because the play was already over”. White hat then says “I guess that settles that then!” * Obligatory disclaimer: The refs did not cost us the game, but that non-call was some fuckery (of the incompetent variety, not some conspiracy/fix).
  2. What was the risk of going for two and losing? Makes no difference to the Lions going forward.
  3. No. Fuck Goff. When he played us in Austin, we had a player go down with a shoulder injury (didn’t play the rest of the season). They stopped play when Hoff was trying to go fast. Goff went off on the ref like a maniac complaining about us “faking an injury”. He should have been flagged, but wasn’t. He’s a Cal cunt just like Rodgers.
  4. Just checking in to this thread for some Christmas discussion, as our 7 month old was the star of the show, even though he has no idea why. He started teething this week, so…yeah.
  5. Another option no one has mentioned ruined is betting UW +4.5. Make some money back if we lose or potentially make money if we win but don’t cover. Obviously without the plus money odds, you have to add a decent chunk more to your hedge stake, but it’s an option, I guess. I crunched numbers for a while and made my best guess. Essentially, I didn’t love the actual seating sections assigned to the RSVP lower level seats (deep endzone corner). I ended up just pulling the trigger on some club level seats in 333 for $2,900 each. I compared that to buying Bama/Michigan rsvp combo and somehow it made sense to just get the tickets, n a better location, IMO, and sit with Texas fans.
  6. I haven’t had a criminal case go to trial at/on the first setting in 18 years of practice.
  7. How did they catch all of those illegal crossers with the current open borders that we have?
  8. Checking in to note that we just had our first in May 2023. I’m 48. Wife is 42. Doing life backwards I guess.
  9. I just learned two years ago about “luck of the Irish”.
  10. I’m assuming that you are referring to Sugar Bowl tickets. Wrong thread, but cool.
  11. I wonder how it would work to just organize regular trips through Little River-Academy trying to bait people into reporting/suing people. Maybe just shoe polish the car windows to say “New Mexico Abortion or Bust!”?
  12. If I wasn’t almost 50 years old, I would say that maybe this could be some sort of NFT thing?
  13. This is 100% correct. I said basically the day after dobbs was leaked that no doctor will perform these procedures anymore. It’s can be clear as fucking day that an exception applies, and doctors still won’t do it (without some sort of TRO, court clearance, etc.) But why if it clearly qualifies as an exception? Because the only GUARANTEED way to not get indicted for a 1st degree felony is to just not perform abortions.
  14. This makes sense. I was not factoring in the fees, which is a fatal error on my part.
  15. Correct, which is why I was comparing that with the option of just buying tickets now, for about $850+ face. If we don’t make it, sell those tickets to recoup some of the costs.
  16. For the Championship game? You don’t think that tickets will be well in excess of $1,300? I think you might be the first person I’ve seen make that call. ETA, to me it seems like the best “insurance” protection against massive price spike is just to buy the tickets now, and then resell if we don’t advance. I tend to think that taking an $850 loss on each seat seems highly unlikely.
  17. One reason for not proceeding would be the State of Texas threatening them with prosecution/lawsuits.
  18. So, I. Your opinion, the medical providers and plaintiffs can go ahead and perform the abortion? The TRO stuff is kinda irrelevant. I think your point is that she is entitled under the current law to get an abortion and this TRO stuff was just some political ploy. Fine. The TRO being struck means that the laws as written are still there…and from what we know, she is entitled to the exception under those laws. THEN WHY IS PAXTON THREATENING TO PROSECUTE THEM?
  19. So, you’re saying that she is legally entitled to the procedure, and as proof, cite… an objection lodged by Paxton explaining why she is NOT legally allowed to get the procedure? What the fuck are you talking about? That objection clearly states that the plaintiffs do not state a medical basis for a notion that meets the requirements of the current Texas law as written. What “shenanigans” are you talking about?
  20. In 2001, 3 of Simms’ INT’s weren’t really his fault. Also, our defense struggled because we weren’t prepared for some old dude in knee braces named Jason White running all over us.
  21. Incorrect. They all had the letter “W” tattooed on them, to signify their connection with the movie “The Wood”. Not sure if that’s worse than each others initials or not, TBH.
  22. I would also add Major taking a sack that put us out of FG range. JT was literally the only thing other than a turnover that we could not allow to happen.
  23. No it’s not. We are Texas. We have a coach that is by far our preferred choice to hold the job. We will pay the amount that goes with that reality. Again, if you’re in charge, do you let him walk if he wants $9M/year and not a penny less? Then what?
  24. Agreed. I was being conservative with the hypothetical.
