  1. So, on lap 26, Fernando will hit 100,000 km of racing laps in F1. That's just nuts. Enjoy! Yet another on the list of races I really wanna do. Looks like an awesome place to visit.
  2. Yeah, exit of T14 will be more important now. But I do like the normal T16. IIRC that was always a place with some conflict and mistakes. It'd probably be cool if they straight-lined 18-21 instead.
  3. Apparently the Singapore lap will be about 7s quicker this year (and probably this year only). The track has been altered somewhat for construction near the normal T16-19.
  4. Thanks for going out of your way on this. Very helpful! Makes sense, because it didn't appear until it started hitting 100+ every day, which made me think it was just getting 'burnt up'.
  5. @cactusflinthead Heree you can see the grey in the middle that I was talking about before.
  6. Yeah it's definitely an adventure. I just went back out to look at it with what you said in mind. That biggest patch is really grey in the middle and more light brown/yellow just dead looking as you go toward the edges. Pull a leaf and it's grey/black, darker as you go toward the base.
  7. Thanks brother! That's what I was afraid of. Appreciate the help and all of your good info here!
  8. What would you say is causing this? My shaded areas are doing great. This is only in the 2 areas of my yard with pretty much full sun most or all of the day, so I figured the sun was just burning it out. Could it be something else, like bugs, worms, disease, etc? SW Austin. Thanks in advance! thumbnail (1).jfif thumbnail.jfif
  9. OBTW, after we built the pool and had to re-landscape my completely destroyed back yard, I went with SA Palmetto because it's supposed to best the best all-around SA for handling both shade and sun. Haven't been disappointed in the least. It's crushing my old Raleigh SA in the same conditions. Also, any of y'all use Sunday Lawn products? I've been using them for about 18 months now and over that period this is the healthiest my lawn has looked overall in 22 years living here.
  10. This. Water it deeper & less frequently, and cut it long. I schedule a watering night be split into two full cycles to reduce water running off down the street and increase absorption. If I want, for example, 10 minutes total per zone, I do zones 1-9 for 5 minutes each, then repeat the whole thing. I'm watering 2x a week and the only problems I'm having are in the spots with very few hours of shade to no shade at all. Another thing that I've found has helped a ton this year is adjusting my sprinklers to make sure the water is being distributed as evenly as possible. I had my sprinkler system built 20 years ago, so what was left after we built the pool last year needed some work after 20 years of yard work, adding dirt, sodding here and there, women & kids in cars running over the sprinkler by the driveway, etc. We had to replace the back yard sprinkler, so that needed a lot of tweaking as well. This crazy heat has made it obvious exactly where the sprinklers needed work - where there was too little water, too much water, or it was just right. I'm not surly 1%, so I did most of that shit myself. It's a pita, and dirty work, but it's really paid off.
  11. ^Eh ... *strapped Got dammit.
  12. Love the reaction of those little Bama kids to VY there at the end, staring up at him in awe. They know ...
  13. I was watchingn that game in the fire station with the crew. One aggy guy was talking shit with Okie State up 35-7. I said Texas was still gonna win. Watch what VY does, etc. I bet him $20 on Texas down 28. He jumped all over that like it was free money. Best $20 I ever made. Not even close Quinn's a decent-sized guy. VY just dwarfs him there lol.
  14. LOL. See this all the time for some odd reason. Kinda reminds me of the pickup I saw headed up Mopac toward 290/Ben White with a 16' roof ladder trapped to its bed --- across its bed with 5' of ladder sticking out on either side. True story.
  15. Probably got that hat at Allen's on South Congress.
  16. Yeah I've been assistant coaching youth (ute) baseball for several years with a Sooner. In the process, we've become good buddies. He gets it. The only time we talk shit about the other school it's just playful joking. I can't see myself ever doing that with a got damn aggy. /csb
  17. Exactly the way it was the first time we played Nebraska up there. Cool folks at the time, but they didn't know what was coming. As we all know, they got nasty in the years to follow.
  18. It was funny and warranted, but I gottsa admit I was real nervous the Unsportsmanlike flag was about to come flying in.
  19. Man, my kid & I were talking about this during the game. Fair catch at the fucking 5? WTF? I see it all the time now throughout CFB and too often in the NFL too. Whatever happened to standing on the 10, and then if it's over your head you let it go, and try to catch anything else you can reasonably get to? Do they just not teach it anymore?
  20. Yeah that was a clown show by way too many guys.
  21. Yeah I been saying for a while that we should just do it too. Just do the Horns up, down, sideways, all over the place. Take the fun out of it for them. But whatever, they do seem to need it to make them happy.
