  3. Re: the weight reduction, 50kg isn't much, but at least it's a start. If they make the cars lighter then they should be able to make them smaller as well, as they wouldn't need such huge aero surfaces to create enough downforce to make these heavy-ass cars stick to the road.
  4. F1 eyes 2025 rules tweak to combat 50% drop in key aero metric https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/f1-eyes-2025-rules-tweak-to-combat-50-drop-in-key-aero-metric-/10517669/ F1 targets 50kg weight reduction as part of 2026 rules revamp https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/f1-targets-50kg-weight-reduction-as-part-of-2026-rules-revamp/10517789/ Lighter cars? Yes, yes, yes. And then lighten them some more. Some want standard floors. That would be a massive step and too much imho, esp in a formula that relies so much on the bottom of the car for downforce. I'm all for clawing back to the proper 2022 regs though. They never should have been softened in the first place.
  5. Marko apologized. Good on 'im.
  6. Tell your Stang I said 'Get well soon'!
  7. Nah, I just believe in not being so totally self-absorbed and oblivious to my surroundings that I needlessly delay or inconvenience others around me. We all have shit to do. It's called 'common courtesy'. It's a bit of a rarely-exercised, outdated concept these days, but you may have heard of it. If your car is at the pump for 15-20 minutes at a busy gas station while you fuck around inside the store or eat burgers in the car with people waiting, sorry, but you're a piece of shit. Same with the dumbasses that pull up to the pump and just sit in the car fucking around on their got damn phones. Or maybe you're just being sarcastic. Who knows ...
  8. JFC. Can someone please just snip Collinsworth's vocal cords?
  9. Nice. I've never done that, but I can parallel park a 40 foot fire quint/ladder truck. That's probably way easier than a semi though. The tougher test for me was the one where we had to pull past an alley and then turn 90 degrees to the right to back into it with about 18" on each side. That was tricky. /csb
  10. This reminds me of the fucking pieces of shit who pull up to the pump at a busy gas station and leave their car there without even starting the pump - or they pump their gas and then leave the car there while they go into the store to buy their hohos & nachos, take a dump, etc. The other day I was one pump over from a car with nobody in it and no gas pumping. It was there when I drove up and got in line. 5 minutes later the guiy comes out with a burger, talking on his cellphone, taking his time while a guy waits for that pump. He gets in the car and starts eating his burger. me and the guy waiting for that pump are looking at each like wtf? About the time I finish pumping my gas, he finally decides to leave. Just completely oblivious to the world around him, like he's the only person there. Another common one now is the dipshits that pull up to the pump and then take 5 minutes to even get out of their car b/c they can't put their fucking phone down for a minute. Usually chicks. JFC.
  11. What a dumbass. This is why you always set your parking brake if you have a stick, even if you leave it in gear ... or think you did.
  12. Awesome, awesome, awesome. This is how I've been thinking it'd go for months.
  13. At HEB a while back. It was open. Not the greatest parking job, but nothing douchebaggy. The thing is, the car was wrecked and missing the right front wheel. Just gone. Right rear was flat, too. The weirdest thing was that there wasn't even a scrape mark on the pavement where they drive this wrecked car into the spot. It was like at the beginning of Close Encounters where they found those old Navy planes in the desert in Mexico, like it had just been dropped there.
  14. In Chicago? No pressure ...
  15. I had to go in this year, too, so I made an appointment for like 1130 am. I figured that would make it at least a little quicker. Nope. I show up 15 minutes early. After 45 minutes to an hour of waiting, I was about to go up and say wtf, when a lady beat me to it. She had a noon appt and asked how much longer it was going to be, and explained that she'd made the appointment for her lunch break because it was the only time she could do it & had to get back to work etc. The old guy at the counter said "Everyone is seen in the order they check in". The woman says "But I have an appointment. So people who walk in ahead of me with no appointment get seen before me?" The guy says "Yes Maam". Woman: "So what good did my appointment do me?" Old man just stood there with a blank stare. She finally got called, but only after she'd called her boss to ask for an extra hour off. I finally got called at about 130.
  16. People who who the word "verse" in place of "versus" ... 'Texas verse Alabama is a big matchup". These fuckers are evil and need to die.
  17. Bumpity bump. Where the fuck has this thread been? Wife tonight at bedtime: "Alexa, play 'You never even called me by my name', by Edgar Allan Poe." 100% true. You can't make up some of the shit she says. LMFAO. I completely lost it. (no pics, assholes)
  18. Hey, ya gotta put those bucks in the seats somehow ....
  19. Buy Miami ticket for Texas A&M, get one free for Georgia Tech. Canes want fans to show https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/college/acc/university-of-miami/article279017079.html
  20. Marko: "Checo has fluctuations because he’s South American and his head isn’t as focused as Max or Sebastian" streamin.one/v/d181ed64 Reprehensible racial/ethnic insult considerations aside, if I had a dollar for every time someone said Mexico is in South or Central America, I'd be rich lol. Geography is apparently very difficult.
  21. Oh I get it now. This must be some kind of competition to see who can make less sense than the OP did. Yeah Tulsa maybe, but Temple and Towson? Nope.
  22. Yeah Guenther is a dipshit. He, the other team principals (esp Honer & the Torger), and Domenicali have been screaming for months now that new teams need to show and prove that they'll increase F1's value - yet they refuse to explain what that added value should be. Steiner said it again the other day and when asked, said he has no clue what that actually means. I'm still waiting for one of these so-called F1 'journalists' to ask Steiner or anyone from Williams, Alpha Tauri, etc to quantify exactly what tangible value they bring to F1. Would they pass the same test to get into F1 right now according to their own nebulous, vague financial standards that are clearly artificial hurdles specifically imagined for the sole purpose of keeping new entrants out? And yep, the F1 grid gets an instant, massive upgrade the second Haas sells to Andretti.
