  1. never done a water cooled CPU.  But normally you will want some thermal grease between the CPU and the heatsink.  Arctic Silver is what i remember using last time i built one.

If you are not overclocking your CPU you probably don't need the water cooling.  I used to work for AMD way back in the day and the promotion/tradeshow guys would use water cooling to overclock the hell out of the display systems.

  2. those people that were waiting outside the fucking mall in a line stretching back that far should have their children taken from them...before they are shot.  don't want the kids to see that.

Seriously, most had to know it was not worth it and i would bet my life that 98% just wanted to post on social media about the big 'score' they got that day and how happy it made their kid. If they were selling kidneys for $35 and I just woke up in a tub of ice with a note saying call 911,  I would not wait that long in line.  That's what favor is for.

  3. I don't really understand the game mechanics having never played, but what's the etiquette on getting that last letter?  Were the couple in post #52 actively playing or lurking?   Why would they stop playing if so close?

To your first point, business models should never be confused for values. I bet there are more than a handful of halal or kosher businesses out there that aren't run by strictly Muslim or Jewish entities. Money knows no race or religion. If it sells, someone will be selling it.

To your question, because it was probably a marketing firm that was hired by The Domain to do the research. They were selling themselves just as much as they were selling their research. But someone is losing their job over this getting out.

  5. for big games like that there should be some fundamental law using quantum coupling that you can instantly be in contact with the person you were talking the most shit to prior to the game.  On the flight to the LA, this guy would not stop hyping Bush up.  Going on and on about his freaking HS recruiting tapes and how he was going to run all over Texas and how we should not even be on the same field as the greatest college football team in history (thanks a lot Bin Laden ESPN).  I asked him how much he really knows about VY and he said not much.  I just told him he would understand after the game what he needed to know about VY.

just awesome tailgating on the golf course all day exchanging smack talk with fuckers wearing those 'pete pete pete' shirts.  And to what everyone else was saying, yes, there were tons of people waiving 1000s of ameros around trying to buy tickets to the game.  Had never seen anything like it.  No one was selling.  I listened in to one guy's plan to get into the game by buying the apron and vendor ID from a worker.  Saw some unlucky people who bought counterfeit tickets standing to the side of the gate.

the game was ok, i guess.  glad we won.

  6.  a few years ago, a lady at work just would not believe that she didn't really win a Canadian lottery (that she could not remember entering).  Same as one of the above posts.  Wanted her to send in $ for the 'taxes' up front.  I don't think she ever ended up sending money...or at least admitting it to anyone.

I remember when Craig James and his son tethered themselves to an obvious lie but couldn't abandon it because they simply rode it too far.

pretty sure it was proven fact that CJ killed 5 hookers.  not sure what the son had to do with it

  8. got a 10yo and most gifts revolve around sports equipment (basketball, baseball mitt, etc...), dry fit material shirts/hoodies and xbox related crap.  'toys' don't ever get played with as far as I can tell.  occasionally, he can't fall asleep and will bust out a lego set and build for a little while, but that's it.

If you are hesitant on the idea because it will make him an xbox crack head, then you are correct.  I coach some of my boy's sports teams and it (Fortnite) is literally all they talk about when they get together.

One of our cats has killed no less than 4 birds and deposited them around our house in the last week alone.  Yesterday it was a small dove.  She dropped it at my daughter's feet and then rolled around looking for praise.  I praised her and threw it in the trash.  I did not try to resuscitate.

one of our childhood cats was a hunter.  took out an owl, tons of birds and rabbits.  it dropped a still breathing rabbit on our porch and me and little bro wanted to save it.  Dad said take it to grandpa.  Grandpa took the rabbit, grasp it by the hindlegs and beat its head against a brick wall to put it out of its misery.  WTF grandpa?

Struggling with how to handle my two girls today after hearing what happened at their Girl Scouts campout this weekend and how you teach empathy effectively to your kids? Long story short, my youngest took part passively in the bullying of a much younger girl resulting in that girl not wanting to leave her cabin the rest of the entire weekend. Her older sister claims she didn't do anything and her younger sister just sat by and didn't get an adult or stand up for the younger kid. They didn't get to take part in the activities that were planned for the weekend because of their behavior. The odd part is my kids are always telling me of other kids that bully their friends or them. Yet when they had a chance to stop it, they didn't. I'm in need of finding a good way to get them to be the ones who will stand up for others. We're definitely going to add more volunteering to their lives. They've done stuff before but it just never seems to sink in. Then we have friends who their kids are just naturally empathetic children. It's really aggravating as my biggest fear in having daughters was having the "mean girls". Any help would be appreciated.

girls can just be brutal on those campouts.  I have seen a caste system develop at 4 yo with girls that know each other better spurning other girls (from the same school) that are just more of acquaintances.  not hard core bullying but more active exclusion from the group.  "you can't come sit in our bunk"  "tell so-and-so that I'm not talking with her"  etc... my little girl has been on the receiving end of some it (her core group of friends have pussies for fathers who won't take them camping do not make many campouts).

As to what to do, not sure, I witnessed some of it and just talked to all the girls right after it happens and most agreed that it's no fun to be left out or told to go away from the fun.  Several said that they did not want to exclude anyone but so-and-so said to do it.  After that it's usually not an issue as they get back to playing around and having fun.

  11. finally got off my ass and did a little 5 gallon batch of a mexican vienna lager last weekend.  hopefully it turns out like a Victoria.  I have made it a few times in the past and never quite nailed it.

started brewing late and was finishing up around 1pm on a hot day, but got the wort down to 55F before moving the wort to the fermenter.

Sure they got to play us at home and won both games. We weren't a great ball club early in the year.

    Texas since that series: 33-12
    Arkansas since that series: 31-15

Looks pretty evenly matched to me.

    advantage aggy
