  1. In the early 70s, we were in the Far West Classic in Portland and Indiana was one of the other teams in the tournament. It was early in Coach Knight's career. We had the last game that evening and Indiana played in the first game against BYU. Our coaches let us go to that game and it was amazing. These names won't mean anything to you younger guys, but the Indiana guards were Bobby Wilkerson and Quinn Buckner. The BYU guards would cross the mis court line and those 2 guards would shut them down. It was scary. Anyway, during the game, there was a loose ball headed toward the Indiana bench. Their freshman center was Kent Benson who was a highly recruited 6' 10 white kid. He goes diving for the ball and saves it but goes flying into the bench chair right next to Coach Knight. Coach gets up and starts yelling at the kid to get up and back onto the court. The poor kid is trying to get up but his leg is stuck in the chair. He falls back down on the court trying to get his leg out and Coach Knight is still screaming at him to go play defense. The kid finally gets up and goes running down the court. Everyone is laughing except for that kid. Some of you can act like assholes but there was never a shortage of kids that wanted to play for him at Indiana.
  2. That's about as crazy as giving a coach a $100 million guaranteed contract.
  3. Not bad for a lowly 3 star who was offered to get his 4 star brother. Hook Em Donta.
  4. There was never a vintage basketball court because the volleyball team also played there so they had volleyball lines on the court as well. but I agree, it would have been nice.
  5. Maybe it's me but it's easier to see the basket when the lights are on.
  6. There is nothing wrong with the sight lines.
  7. I think that I would rather drive a Lambo in Austin and be a hero with a great career at UT than Missouri. And in Sark's offense, with proper development, he would probably be a higher draft pick than at Mizzou. I could be wrong, but I have to believe that if Evan was in Sark's offense rather than Jimbo's, he could be a higher draft pick with far more income than his NIL he received at aggy.
  8. We need to stomp them big time, but we need to be ready to play. This is their game of the decade, and we need to beat them down early.
  9. Boy, was I wrong. I always thought that aggy was just full of crap. Now I find out that they were just full of gas which isn't good for the environment.
  10. Dad, that's what happens when you go to a school because of the NIL money you get.
  11. What is the allow button. Don't laugh.
  12. You are now promoted to 2nd LT Hulk. Congrats.
  13. Colt was a 3 star as was the brother of a 4 star that ran for 2000 years a couple of years ago. I'll take our coaches evals over the recruiting services 24/7,
  14. Jimbo screwed up. He should have scheduled Miami of Ohio instead of Miami of Florida. Not that it would have made much difference. 😁
  15. I don't post on the recruiting board very often, but I am going to make a general statement about recruiting and academics. Poster tend to make comments based on their own personal experiences. I can give examples but will focus on academics. Let's say that a highly recruited young man from a small east Texas town takes a visit to OU. He wants to major in business and is serious about getting a good education. He takes a trip to OU and the first thing that the OU coaches do is take him to the academic center where he sees more computers and other devices than he has seen in his entire small town. He sees dozens of tutors working with some of the football players and he is incredibly impressed. Then he meets some of the business professors and they knock his socks off with their business presentations. Then, the coaches take him to meet Michael Price. Sadly, he passed away a couple of years ago, but he was OU's Red McCombs. Price tells him how his OU business education helped him become the huge success that he became. The kid is in awe and comes home and raves about the OU education. Poster laugh at the kid because they are making assumptions based on their own personal experiences and not on the young man's recent experiences.
  16. This is so sad. I knew Bill well when I was in college. He would travel with us to out of town games. No one loved UT more than Bill. He will be missed. Someone mentioned Dr Cooley. In addition to being a UT grad, he was also a UT basketball letterman. I suspect that about now, Bill and DR Cooley are talking with Coach Black about UT hoops,
  17. Welcome to the family Cam.
  18. I spent part of my honeymoon in Chatham at the Old Cranberry Inn so this hits really close to home.
  19. I used to sell peanuts at the Astrodome so this thread is close to home.
