  1. He says Jerry Sr was a rabble rouser til he met a hot organ player at the Baptist church. He wanted to fuck her so he joined her church, stole her away from her fiance who was off at bible college by turning to preaching himself, went crazy against the drinking and the homos because he was trying to impress her, then eventually, after he fucked her, he'd stumbled upon a grift he needed to keep going.
  2. This one just makes my heart hurt. I know what it's like to not be able to tell anyone about yourself. I know what it's like to always hold a little back, so you can't just be a genuine person to the people who you call friends or even loved ones. I know what it's like to avoid certain things you like because of what you are afraid it might say about you. I know what it's like to pretend like everything is a-ok when things are actually pretty fucking dire. None of those are things that anyone should have to feel on a non-stop basis for years and years, and for the last decade or so, kids were getting much closer to not having to know what any of that was like. Enter this legislature, which has decided that no, we should bring all of that back. It's like they all got together and decided, "If we can't create another generation of self loathing, scared homosexuals then what good are we as a legislating body?" It's some bullshit, and I don't understand why Republicans put up with that nonsense. If this country is in as bad a shape as they say it is, shouldn't there be more important things to be focused on?
  3. In the least surprising new ever: Vile piece of shit admits he's a vile piece of shit, news at 11. Falwell - It was all a ruse!
  4. Never ceases to amaze me how many people who claim to be patriots begrudge every single penny that goes into the coffers of the country they profess to love so sincerely.
  5. Who is this Peter Attia guy and why would I believe anything he says after saying that? It's exactly what it is. I bet they also have a requirement that he not be a nicotine user as well, but he's not bitching about that one, probably because he was never a smoker, or was willing to give it up.
  6. I was actually a Kareem fan and to a lesser extent, a Rockets fan back then. Didn't fully care about and transition to the Rockets as my primary team until Hakeem finished up at Cougar High. So I had multiple reasons to hate the Celtics, and by extension, Larry Bird. Fucker was a great player, but no thank you. This is the crazy thing. I bet they have a rule that smokers must quit smoking or people need to lose x amount of weight to hit a target weight as well to qualify for these transplants. He's drawing the line at getting a shot. WTF our ability to think critically is completely broken in this country.

  8. Guarantee you the things she's buying are full of sugar, alcohol and nicotine.
  9. Couldn't remember his name fully so I just called him DJ.
  10. Well yeah, but back in those days, I think that was a requirement to play for the celtics. Danny Ainge, DJ, Kevin Frankenstein, and Parish were the all time greats at being ugly while playing basketball. That team was one for the ages in that department.
  11. All these years, I had no idea that my hatred for Stockton made me part of a legion. I didn't realize we were so numerous. That guy never did shit against any teams I cared about, so it wasn't even that I disliked him because he was good against my teams, like Larry Bird, who can also fuck right off, but that hatred came because of his greatness and not because he was a sniveling piece of shit, which is what Stockton looked like to me at the time and I guess he's confirmed it for us all now.
  12. Yep had a string of girlfriends, she was my last one. We broke up when I was 24. I could go on and on about her putting me off of women but no, truth is, had my first boyfriend and my first girlfriend in junior high. The boyfriend was because I liked cock and the string of girlfriends because I lived in small town Texas and it wasn't ok to like cock. Took me a long time to realize, once I moved to Austin, that I didn't live in that small town anymore and it was ok to just like cock and quit keeping up appearances. I am not a gold star gay.
  13. Yep sorry I wasn't clear. There are tantrum throwers in this thread. I don't see you as one of them.
  14. Except we do put those mandates on smoking and alcohol in government by prohibiting those not of a certain age from partaking, and private companies also provide both carrots and sticks for weight loss and smoking/alcohol cessation. This doesn't feel like a completely black/white issue to me and it's frustrating to see so many people try to argue black/white so emotionally, when the answer lies in the gray. We are never going to be able to properly define the gray if the people yelling for black and the people yelling for white can't quit publicly tantruming long enough for the conversation to even happen.
  15. My last girlfriend was a bartender at Expose and she was paranoid and an alcoholic. She would periodically bring over hundreds of dollars in 20's and ask me to hide them for her in case someone broke into her apartment.
  16. I go to Chicago a lot for work. Every time I tell my Grandmother I'm heading there, she has a freakout about me getting killed by gang violence. Every. Time. This is a semi-regular point of discussion for my dad to this day. He's concerned that we've gotten rid of our police force and no matter how many times I explain to him what actually happened, he just needs to make sure I'm being safe with no police 3 or 4 times a year. It's amazing, really.
  17. I always thought that show was about the Night Tripper singer from New Orleans.
  18. WTF, no. Chips was awesome because John and Ponch were hot. Also Bo and Luke, and for the challenged among you, Daisy. Meat Loaf did not have that going for him. At all. Terrible terrible take.
  19. I thought he did more than just play a part in Rocky Horror Picture Show so I was going to say maybe that for a very small subset of people (mostly a certain type of person in Gen X and older), but I never really understood that phenomenon either, so yeah, I'm with you. I have periodically since they passed thought of a Prince or a George Michael or a Kenny Rogers and been sad they died and played one of their songs in tribute. That won't ever happen for anything he ever did.
  20. What was really a surprise, he's a Buddhist. Or at least he was for the Lunar new year in 2019.
  21. I'll happily administer the tests as long as I get to pick the participants! Also, ok you all have had your fun bickering back and forth about who's on ignore and whose not, but jesus fuck it's time to act like you aren't 10 and move on.
  22. The incidence of myocarditis in young males is higher in young males who actually get COVID than that get it from the vaccine, as a Joe Rogan video upstream in this thread showed. You might want to rethink this argument based on that data.
  23. What you aren't getting here is that with proper vaxxing and masking this current variant probably never would've existed. So yes, it potentially could've been avoided. What we have to hope is that as Omicron rages it doesn't spawn some new, worse variant.
  24. I gotta say, Gary Chambers doesn't have a shot in hell here, but I love him anyway. I started following him after his dressing down of Connie and I think we need more people like him in government.
  25. That basically sums up the modern Republican platform. "The rules apply to you, but not to me."
