  1. The Seminoles won't get stuck in the snow trying to break into the SEC but it's a possibility with the BUG.
  2. Remember how you were worried about money? Well now you have a lot less to worry about. I thought we had agreed that these new contracts are actually settlements to compensate the left behinds. For all of the schools that have been screwed over by CR, no ESPN executive has had to sit for a sworn deposition.
  3. I am curious about FS1 coverage too. Is it part of those 'streaming services' that are actually cable packages transmitted over the internet? There is a Roku and a Pluto service that have a sports section (I never check). Also Sling is basically a skinny cable package distributed in over an inefficient medium. SIAP. Yes, these scenarios all assume the AVC has dissolved.
  4. I don't like it. But the compensation is that we could join the BUG and have a season where don't play any of the original 10 teams.
  5. Why would a conference [tv network] take UoAZ without even discussing ASU?
  6. In Socal perhaps. NorCal won't pay much attention. It's why Pitt will never be Auburn again. I think you are underestimating that. It's not just growing but growing with young adults. Yeah but Stanford will remain Stanford. Schools want to associate with them and they will get one of the last spots.
  7. It was a made up rivalry between an academic inferiority complex and a boring athletic department. But both school are necessary to the final P-whatever so it is not something to worry about.
  8. The Big12 realized that geographic absurdity made for a good media footprint. They just need to get the four corner schools: San Diego, UW, Brown, and Miami.
  9. I don't believe CU will move to the Big12_whatever. That would make sense and the one common prime factor is that no CR makes sense.
  10. Passing on a top 10 metro area for the least important program in the conference? Well, how long was the list of schools that the Big12 supposedly snubbed for WVU?
  11. Also lost Johhny Lujack at 98. In 1943 ND started 6-0 and the QB was randomly drafted into the service. Lujack took over as QB and won the 43 title, despite the choke @ The Great Lakes Naval Training Center. That was presumably their most famous game as they cancelled football in 1945. Never once saw Lujack in the Heisman House.
  12. I am riveted by the scene where the drifter walks in on the two women. Were they allowed to say 'rape' back then?
  13. One the of the most prescient episode of the original series, so far.
  14. I like to show this one on the airplane.
  15. I think I remember some real rinky-dink 'documentary' in the late 90s with live action dramatizations. I remember because they cast black people fighting for the south.
  16. Clearly the film industry needs a prolonged depression.
  17. Shifting walls means you have been in Vegas too long.
  18. I half agree with the too many action scenes criticism. I thought the first hour of the movie had too much action and those scenes had too many close ups of a shoulder. After that the story got moving and was more balanced.
  19. If the Houston metro area were its own state, it would rank in the top 15 for population with @7 million residents. San Diego appears to be just inside the top 25 metro areas with about half the population of Houston. And everyone knows San Diego is so expensive that you can't move there until your kids are out of school. They are in the conversation because the other schools in SoCal dropped football years ago.
  20. We argued about whether Elsa was a "Bond Girl." IIRC she just stands around Christopher Walken saying nothing. Unpopular opinion; if they were going to set it in the 1960s they needed to move beyond the Nazis. Nothing in the master plan was plausible even if you accept the pseudo-scientific time travel gizmo. Still a fun summer B+ popcorn movie. If you set the blockbuser bar at Raiders then you will be in perpetual disappointment.
  21. The characters seem to have gotten used to being teleported, so much that they don't talk about it.
  22. Both Arkin and Vigoda seemed to be immortal.
  23. MGM+TQI* keeps showing The Warriors and Full Metal Jacket about an hour before my bedtime. America's worst lullabys.
