  1. Takes me back to like 3 years ago before my cable co moved WGN into the next tier. Great sitcom syndication and their local news has way more murders
  2. Is it safe to say that nothing important will ever make it into the meeting minutes? In any university town, the people pelting you did not actually attend the university. Plus the two schools have mellowed out. Irish fans had no serious complaints in Columbus last year outside of OC Rees.
  3. Is the word dis-contiguous? Whatever you call it, no conference with an island has ever lasted. Even with the University of Hawaii.
  4. We have the more recent win in the Citrus. Also in 1990 we cleared out Miami and gave the pollsters cover by beating Colorado but/for the phantom clip.
  5. I don't know if College Station has an identity outside of the university but no one says A&M is a local monopoly. Valpo? https://blog.history.in.gov/ku-klux-u-how-the-klan-almost-bought-a-university/
  6. In the SC/UCLA -> Big12 scenario they almost have to take ASU as well. You don't leave an enormous public school in a top 10 metro area as a gap in your footprint.
  7. No. Not even similar. It is very hard to name another famous program that sits in the heart of a top 5 recruiting territory and made a history of underachievement. Maybe Georgia Tech.
  8. He seemed a bit big in Saving Private Ryan. But he seemed like they time warped in a real soldier.
  9. You should have made them leave their key. fawlty memory? Pitt did that to the Big East too.
  10. That's not the story posted on the old site went.
  11. Ranking Team Conference Bowl 1 USC Pac-8 Won Rose, 42–17 2 Oklahoma Big Eight Won Sugar, 14–0 3 Ohio State Big Ten Lost Rose, 17–42 4 Alabama SEC Lost Cotton, 13–17 5 Texas Southwest Won Cotton, 17–13 6 Michigan Big Ten none 7 Auburn SEC Won Gator, 24–3 8 Penn State Independent Lost Sugar, 0–14 9 Nebraska Big Eight Won Orange, 40–6 10 LSU SEC Lost Bluebonnet, 17–24 11 Tennessee SEC Won Bluebonnet, 24–17 12 Notre Dame Independent Lost Orange, 6–40 13 Arizona State WAC Won Fiesta, 49–35 14 Colorado Big Eight Lost Gator, 3–24 North Carolina ACC Won Sun, 32–28 16 Louisville MVC none 17 UCLA Pac-8 Washington State Pac-8 Utah State Independent 20 San Diego State PCAA It looks pretty normal to me.
  12. So... the family secret was going from dark mysterious lover to wise caring stepfather. The only other thing I got was that Perseus looked at Medusa.
  13. I can't think of any conference where UCF makes sense. That's is probably why they never stop changing conferences.
  14. There's some kind of law that I can't love a show until I've hated it. Usually because a preconception that wasn't what the show is actually about. I just started BSG in 2021 so to me it's kind of new.
  15. I wouldn't call it stupid. SyFy has their specific formula in which the main ingredient is 20s kids on adderrall. The Ark is a nice call back to classic Trek and Battlestar. Also on SighFi I just saw an episode of the new Twilight Zone with Rhea Seehorn. I could only see it as set in Kim Wexler's life after Saul.
  16. Rowan and the black guy keep appearing in different fantastic places.
  17. Can someone please explain how they keep teleporting around?
  18. IF you mean the ND-SC game, the networks would like a word with you.
  19. Doubtful it was the BUG's idea because the SEC never played a full round robin.
  20. If we don't limit it to B movies then what's the point? For example, No Country For Old Men, is a noir set in the west made by top dollar creators. I don't know how to discuss it alongside Apache Uprising. Likewise I am not including any Wayne movies after 1946 because he is basically his own genre.
  21. It's like 75% of ND's philosophy of scheduling where you have annual rival siblings, biennial cousins, and in-laws played once or twice each decade. I like how the SEC proposed 3 rivals without a 4 team pod. That said it is a good design of a bad idea. A college football season that looks like the NFL is completely unsatisfying.
  22. I would be proud if that was the cause of our golden dumpster fire. It's actually only DC Elko. Elko was forced upon Kelly by AD Savvy Jack. Elko asked ND to match an A&M offer after 1 year. We did. But after the handshake deal, he went back to A&M, who as you know, just won't be outbid. ND refused to bid again and I am glad we did not. Otherwise I am unaware of anyone trying to poach Mike Denbrock, Brian Van Gorder, Kerry Cooks, Bob Diaco, Chuck Martin, Chip Long (available), Jeff Quinn (available), Del Alexander (available). Most of those were Kelly's yes-men. A position coach to Ohio State or a HC offer is not really a poach. Don't get me wrong this is a total failure of leadership. What the fan mob gets wrong is thinking this has been normal. Jack&Brian normally kept staff drama under wraps.
  23. Fewer articles on how steep immigration increases applications to your flagship university. I just read 250 people are added to the Houston area population every day. I doubt they are coming because they think you are a racist state.
