  1. The football team's performance may have been disappointing so far, but Codaxx vs Thatguy has really lived up to its billing as the best slugfest since the Rumble in the Jungle.
  2. (Developed) talent and athleticism are glaring problems at some key positions. As far as team motivation goes:
  3. Brooks is really a tackle, but since the staff had no ideas they decided to throw him to the wolves at Florida. Maybe he really is the best option moving forward. If a freshman RT is your best option at LG then that is pretty cool 5 years into a staff's tenure.
  4. Brooks is a freshman and shouldn't be playing in any sane world. PFF grades: Stroh - 48.8 Brooks - 0.0
  5. Eligibility? Can he play LG?
  6. I was worried, but Baghdad Bobby convinced me.
  7. Last year's offensive line was underwhelming, given the number of starts and the years in the program. This year's offensive line looks like one you find on a team with sanctions and scholarship reductions.
  8. I want to believe. At the very least it would be great to see the defense come out and play to their potential from the opening whistle.
  9. Wait, does this mean it's time to root for disaster? Down the drain for Lane!
  10. Oregon plays one more (currently) ranked opponent this season when Indiana visits 10/11. Otherwise the next toughest game could plausibly when they have to play Iowa out in the null field enveloping Kinnick Stadium, rather than the final game against Washington. Now that Penn State has lost to Oregon, they may very well have 3 conference losses by the end of the year. They play at Iowa, get a bye, then visit Ohio State followed by hosting Indiana. I would not be surprised if they go 1-2 in that stretch. As far as the SEC, we'll see how it shakes out. In current SP+ we have the number 1 defense, but offense is 51st. If offense moves up to semi competent in conference play, should do all right. I thought it was funny in another thread reading a worry that A&M might be undefeated by the end of the season when we play them. That will be the day. But even if it did happen, it would make beating them actually meaningful and sweeter, unlike most times when it is just expected.
  11. Architecture was inspired by Bass Pro Shop.
  12. As long as we are bouncing Stroh around, might as well try him at QB for a series.
  13. Football is ninety percent mental. The other half is physical. -Yogi Berra --El Hornarino I do not know which option is the least terrible. Caldwell named starter for this week, "open competition" this week (not in the poll), or Arch to start but with a short leash. Which one best relieves him of the notion he needs to play perfect every down, while maintaining confidence? Regardless, he doesn't have it right now, and is looking more like a change of pace / short yardage QB rather than a full time starter. Hopefully our staff is more enlightened than I am.
  14. Texas 41 UTEP - 7 WR - 315
  15. 4 yards per carry is great if the plan is to run three downs in a row and not commit procedure or holding penalties.
  16. Texas 51 San Jose St 3 Rushing 235
  17. Offense was essentially a microwaved cow pie. Except for the awesomeness of Alan Jackson.
  18. Obviously someone needs a deal with Lamborghini Trattori.
  19. Texas was the first team to beat Ohio State in a night game at the horseshoe. More articles should mention that bit of trivia.
  20. That's just our halftime adjustments kicking in.
  21. Massey's simulation results: Texas 57 ASU 13 Texas 31 ASU 23 Texas 31 ASU 10 Texas 24 ASU 17 Texas 56 ASU 15 Texas 40 ASU 13 Texas 40 ASU 13
  22. I'm underwhelmed, given this is year four. It is not a single position group or player on offense that is the entire problem. It's a good thing the defense has been elite.
  23. He has had 3 top 10 offenses by FEI. 2008 USC (9), 2019 Alabama (2), 2020 Alabama (1). The 2020 offense had 3 Heisman finalists on it.
