Yeesh. Still don’t like that Boyce is leading. Hopefully he’s improved a lot, but he was so bad last year, it’s hard to image him starting is a good thing. Sounds like our second corner position will need some help, no matter which of the three start.

I know there have been reports of inconsistency during camp, but I will be flabbergasted if Anthony Cook isn't starting opposite of Green for LSU.

I might go after Rezdôra. Any tips on getting a reservation? Calling vs using Resy?

How’s Il Buco? Interior looks like a place my wife would enjoy.

Pretty sure it’s Resy 1 month in advance at midnight.

Il Buco is a nice old school-ish atmosphere, especially if you ask to be seated in the wine cellar.  Parents loved it when I brought them.  I think the food might be just barely a notch below the other places I mentioned, but still very good.

Looking for Italian Recs. Can’t get a table at Carbone

Carbone is fun but I don't really think it's worth the price tag. That place hits the wallet surprisingly hard.  There are great choices in virtually every neighborhood.  Downtown, there is L'Artusi, i Sodi and Babbo in the West Village and Peasant and Il Buco in NoLita/NoHo, all of which take reservations (a month or two in advance). Via Carota might be my favorite restaurant in the city but it is becoming a real fucking beating to get a table at a reasonable hour because they don't take reservations.

I suppose all of these are on the trendier side, so if you are looking for old school red sauce, probably not the best choices.

I really doubt Eaton is gaining 30-40 pounds but he even then he still wouldnt be similar in play style to Davante Davis even if they weigh the same, which was the point.

That wasn’t the point. The point was that he is at best a stash and develop player, which Davante Davis also would have been in a properly run program, in my opinion.

Right. At this point, Eaton isn't near the football player that Hill was, either in coverage or in the run game, and Hill was probably both longer and faster as well. At the time, I thought Hill should have been a 5*. Eaton is more of a flyer you take because you feel good about Kenyatta, Crawford, and Pouncey, and probably Imbraheem as well.

I think Eaton is more like a Davante Davis take. Maybe he never breaks through, or maybe ends up being our starting corner in 2023 or 2024 after spending several years in the program and learning how to play the position.

And yes, I get that Davis played significant snaps early, but that was only because we were in the middle of the talent black hole created by Mack and Charlie.

This is the fucking high point of my life. Or at least Monday. Holy fuck. The problem for them is that:

    a) it’s crazily almost believable

    and

    b) there are a whole lot of people who want to believe it, including their own inferiority-complex driven proclivities.

May the swimming pool party return like Christmas in July each year. Next year, my understanding is that two head-to-head targets will play keep-away with Jimbo as the monkey-in-the-middle that they never let catch the ball.

When you first posted the blurb, I legitimately found myself debating its veracity. Fisher’s Napoleon complex just makes it so damn believable.

    Apparently:

-Tillman is showing up at LB and will be a factor. Being in for the spring was big. He gets forgotten a lot because he wasn’t highly rated, but that’s what you get with underdeveloped Florida players. He has a huge wingspan, he’s fast and fast twitch, and he’s mean.

-What kind of pussy is the Tre Norwood kid to get hurt in fall practice ahead of Kirk Johnson going down?

-They think Sweat is a fucking beast. They like the DL, but that guy has them excited. They’re putting real depth together where it matters.

-They love Smith and Whittington as impact players. The hype is merited.

-Green is the best CB going away and they love what they have overall there.

-Chris Brown is getting raves and he’s not even going to start.

-From someone who has been around the program at practices for more than two decades, “this is the most athleticism on defense since the prime of the Mack Brown era”

This shit is heroine in my veins. This time of year I would even take an @rickyspub "I'm told" update.

Todd Orlando is from the Mike Zimmer school of roster management. You can never have too many good corners. For us, a corner that doesn't win the job is just a nickel that needs to put on weight

What you are saying may be true , but our Nickle the last two years was PJ Locke, our Nickle this year will be BJ Foster, and none of Cook, Green or Jamison have cross trained at Nickle (yet). Orlando seems like he’s of the “best 11 on the field” variety.

It's week 1, Herman is tinkering. He used Collin in the slot, why not ask whether Epps beat him out too? We won't know shit about shit until the end of next week at the earliest. Just like last year, Calvin Anderson was a waste of a roster spot and a joke of a talent from a joke of a conference by day 4.

Trying to keep this in mind when I read reports of Denzel Okafor at RT.
