  1. There were always dissenting voices, and those voices grew in numbers towards the end, but they were almost always met with pages of dog piling and copium. It‘s not really worth debating, the threads are still there for people to read. In any event, I personally still wish Davis were here. Here’s to hoping that Kenny Baker turns out to be a great find.
  2. Well those posts from you were less than 2 years ago, but sure. And I disagree that he did well in 2022. Sure, if you want some 2024 quotes in 2 minutes, happy to help. But I do agree that the recruiting group think started to fade a bit after the 2024 class began to take shape. By then the group had reframed the narrative to him not needing 5 stars because he was such a great developer of talent (which to be fair to the group, maybe true).
  3. Yes, I agree. Here are a few gems from the 2023 thread just from using our shitty search function for less than 5 minutes:
  4. lol. That was absolutely not the consensus on this board 12 months ago. The consensus was that Bo was knocking it out of the park with underrated gems like Sydir Mitchell, Jaray Bledsoe, Aaron Bryant, Kris Ross and others, and that any gnashing of teeth about our future DT depth chart was nothing but histrionics. It's fine, it's what fans of college football recruiting do.
  5. I certainly didn’t have Boston on my WCF bingo card.
  6. It’s been pretty fun to watch this board do a complete 180 on Bo Davis in the span of a few months. College football fandom at its finest.
  7. Well the coaches sure seem to think otherwise, since we flirt with just about every average to above average defensive tackle in the portal.
  8. Internet is serious business for middle aged engineering dorks.
  9. Maybe? That 2009 defense was nasty. 08 was certainly more fun
  10. I think the Ws are washed (other than Steph obviously). They'll probably wind up with the 8 seed, but I expect them to be a fairly easy out for OKC (6 games at most) if that's the matchup.
  11. New Waxahatchee is great. new Vampire Weekend is surprisingly good. Prep-School Gangsters is classic VW.
  12. *Unless of course he’d signed with Texas, in which case he’d be an elite prospect woefully underrated by those Texas hating recruiting services*
  13. The responses to this post (by an idiot poster like me no less) tell a different story. My favorite gem is "Sydir Mitchell being the monster that he's projected to be". All that said, maybe he gets his shit together (here or elsewhere). He's still young and talented.
  14. Ah, that's my bad. I have not been keeping up with the cases. I guess it's just a safe assumption that any kind of limitation is invalid going forward until we fully shift to employee/contract mode.
  15. I think NCAA will enforce whatever the SEC and Big 10 want/allow them to enforce. Making transfers sit out a year absent a head coaching change or real family issue seems like a reasonable way to curb the rampant player poaching/transfers. Probably not a good thing for Texas since at the moment we are a net winner of the current landscape.
  16. Eh, that's not my understanding (on the first part), but I concede I don't personally know him. I think he made a poor judgment trying to straddle the line. Like I said, he'll land on his feet (maybe via the path you suggest), but I don't think it's his desired outcome.
  17. FWIW, Hur is getting a frosty reception from the circles he used to run in due to the political shit storm he caused with his report. He'll certainly land on his feet, but it may be a bit more Trump-y than he personally prefers (which I suppose now means he could end up at Jones Day).
  18. When We Were Kings. The only right answer.
