  1. I’d be ok sticking with Goosby and Baker at tackle (assuming both return). Funds are finite and they were both playing pretty well by year end. I think we’re ok at Edge, absent a situational player like Spence being available. I liked what I saw from Phillips, Littleton and Black at corner, although depth would be nice. G-C-G is an absolute must, to state the obvious. Safety, RB and WR (assuming the freshman leave or aren’t ready) as well.
  2. Have been in New Orleans all week visiting my in laws for thanksgiving. Gumbo below from Commander’s Palace, Casamento’s (bonus shot of oyster soup and chargrilled oysters), and Dakar (non traditional Senegalese, of course, but incredible). Bonus shot of etouffee from The Galley in Metairie (absolute classic, no tourist local seafood joint).
  3. And Alabama lost to Florida St. Like I said, any person with a functioning IQ.
  4. Again, this is completely false. All you need to do is look at our ranking compared to Vanderbilt and OU. Same SEC record, head to head wins for UT. Any person with a functioning IQ knows that if we had the exact same record, we would be ranked above both teams. Gee, I wonder why we aren’t.
  5. I was similarly totally wrong about him. I thought Vasek would be legit and we’d be in trouble if Burke ever saw the field. Idiot, I am.
  6. Have to give it to you, you were really in your bag at the end of the first half. Like the bitch that you are. Respect
  7. Does this count as a big game?
  8. And if we'd beaten Ohio St or Georgia (or just replaced Ohio State with Samford on our schedule), we'd also be going to the playoffs. Relevant.
  9. It’s pretty simple that you don’t know what the word “relevant” means.
  10. Except that is completely false. It’s obviously very relevant.
  11. Do you have functioning brain cells that allow you to comprehend sarcasm?
  12. Like Juan Davis was a monster, or an actual monster?
  13. Recently got the 4K disc of Vertigo and popped it on last night. Just a stunningly beautiful film
  14. This guy is going to be really awesome next year if we can upgrade the talent around him. Props to Arch and the coaching staff for his improvement throughout the year.
  15. I mean I was pretty happy with the non call we got at the most critical moment of the playoff quarterfinals last year…
  16. To follow back up on this, it is crazy to me how much better quality the individual apps are compared to YTTV. The big noon game looks incredible on the Fox app and like shit on YTTV. ESPN isn’t quite the same upgrade in quality, but still much better
  17. This is somewhat right, but the real reason they are in this position is because Paramount put the WBD board in a corner with their unsolicited bid. The spin off by itself wouldn't have triggered Revlon duties, but the board was immediately under tremendous pressure to run a sale process once the bid hit (sure, let's call it a strategic alternative process for fun, but in my opinion there is no chance they continue with the split unless they get really bleak antitrust advice). This is a really good internet post because it is both impressively wrong and yet also self-assured. Bravo!
  18. Except maybe let’s have the new guy actually recruit
  19. Thanks to both of you. I’ve read differing views on whether it’s better to use the Sony apps or Apple TV 4K (which is what I typically use to stream). Some seem to think the Sony apps upscale better. Both look incredible with movies, but I’ll try to toggle back and forth with sports today to see a difference.
  20. I made a big upgrade in my TV recently from an old cheap 50 inch LG to a Sony Bravia 9 65. Streaming movies and playing 4Ks/Blu-rays look absolutely stunning, but the lack of quality in YTTV sports streaming is really noticeable and distracting. Is there a common solution, or it’s just because they broadcast in 720 and the larger tv makes it more noticeable?
  21. There was a fair bit of discussion about this movie in the netflix thread. Incredible opening act, mid-tier second act, and absolutely putrid third act. Kathryn Bigelow is one of the all time greats, but this is a total stinker. Wasted some pretty good Ferguson and Letts performances, sadly.
  22. That’s interesting. Based on watching the games, I find it hard to find a discernible difference between Auburn, LSU, Missouri, Arkansas, Miss St and Florida, on the one hand, and Penn State, Washington, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Purdue, on the other hand. OU and Vandy would pretty clearly be the second and third best teams on either A&M’s or OSU’s schedule. Just to be clear, I’m not suggesting either team is either overranked or overrated. Just that both have only faced high level competition once this season.
  23. OSU has a resume comparable to your school, just with more cache. One legit win and a whole bunch of bread. But unlike Texas, for example, OSU and A&M have generally showed up and flexed muscle against their bread.
  24. There isn’t going to be a 4th Big 10 team unless Michigan wins out. In that scenario, they would jump 9-3 Texas (justifiably so). BYU is the other team we have to worry about. If they win out the regular season (even if they lose to Tech again in the conference championship game), I think it’s a coin flip if the committee would favor a 9-3 Texas, although we’d have the better strength of record certainly.
