  1. Made a GIF of the INT. I could make a higher quality one, but it would be 29 MB and I don't know what's acceptable on this board. Love him getting his teammate off him then pointing at Sark while rocking those burnt orange gloves.
  2. I've watched every game he's played this season, some by streaming but a few in person including last night. One thing is for sure, we should really consider giving him some touches in special teams and/or offense packages. He's a threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. I know that he's not playing the most elite Texas HS teams, but there's no doubt he is elite and I can't wait to see how he looks on the 40. BTW, Zeus mentioned the INT. It was a thrown on target and would have been a big first down in the red zone at a time when PAM was still very much alive in the game. Jonah went up high and just wanted it more. He absolutely Mossed the WR and it's a sin if it doesn't show up on NFL Countdown (I wish I had video of it). I know Randy Moss loves WRs, but I would bet big that we would be excited to have this play on his segment. And it all happened about 15 yards directly in from of where Sark was standing. The only person with a better view than Sark was the poor, dumb bastard WR that got Mossed. BTW, he hits harder than anyone Texas has had since Quentin Jammer. Glad he's gonna play for the good guys.
  3. This is an awesome summary, thanks immamac! I am quoting the part that made me happiest. You love to see it when we still benefit from guys who've moved on to the NFL. Culture, baby!
  4. Awesome!
  5. I just don't understand why you didn't just have a keg delivered. Oh...
  6. Yeah FSU’s entire performance could’ve been described by any number of quotes from John McKay. I think I’ll go with, "We didn't tackle well today but we made up for it by not blocking". I would tack on: didn’t throw well but made up for it by not catching the ball.
  7. Ffantastic! Welcome to the 40, young man! Hook ‘em!
  8. Oh sweet Jeezus, I’m happier than a camel on hump day! Can’t wait to walk to Courville stadium and watch his next home game!
  9. I mean they’re in Ireland for fuck’s sake! Good for him!
  10. It may not be a commitment edit, but it is one of his best ever edits.
  11. Judge Billy Williams Jr. is Galveston County Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3. It's an elected position. County Judge would be a lot bigger deal, politically. Let's hope Fong and Nahlin are correct. I will be going to some of the Tors football games and I would love to root for Jonah without hesitancy.
  12. Yeah, I was hesitant to post. It's not technically insider info, and I claim none. My son isn't on the team. And there are 2000 students at the school. But I told him to be on the lookout and he had just texted me and I thought it was pretty funny timing. I am really glad there's optimism about getting him. A few months ago I was worried about aggy because I wasn't sure how much Jonah is influenced by Mike Evans. Dude is royalty around here. I even went to his parade on the Seawall a few years ago after TB won the Super Bowl.
  13. LOL, my son goes to Ball High. I just got this message from him: "Saw Jonah Willams wearing a usc shirt today" I hope this doesn't portend "a major shift!"
  14. Wow, good catch. Surely he can't be referring to that level of ancient history. Perhaps he recently watched European Vacation and had a vague memory of "Pig in a Poke," which prompted him to associate the two programs in a rival-based, angry sex kind of way.
  15. His subliminal thing slays me: "You had a great time, I was very funny, thank you!"
  16. Carl Reed Jr.'s dad was once Man of the Year at Shermer High. He then pursued a career in the Custodial Arts and landed a strategic position at his alma mater in order to become "the eyes and ears of this institution." I think we can trust him.
  17. He just shit that deer and he's working on another one. We all have our specialties...mine's fruit salad. Tommie Harris was a helmet shitter. Unicorns shit rainbows. It's science.
  18. Hmm. Homer was created and drawn by a guy named Matt. Also, substitute a 'g' for the 'c' in Lance, and you have Lange. Also, within a double-stranded DNA molecule, cytosine bases on one strand pair with guanine bases on the opposite strand (C-G). It all adds up. Welcome back to the 40, Lange!
  19. Alright, this being Surly, I don't object to this post. But it does make me want to point out the fact that Dick Tomey had an impact on our upward trajectory in 2004. Sure, Greg Robinson gets a ton of credit but don't forget Tomey's contribution. We started playing tougher, no question about that. Which leads to the current topic. This past season's Longhorn team was known to be very tough and physical (per sources on opposing coaching staffs). Who gets credit for this? I hope it wasn't mostly Davis and Choate. If so, I think that's one of the most important elements of replacing our DL coach, perhaps more important than plus recruiting ability. I think the comments on this thread suggest Rod Wright has IT. If memory serves, he was one very large piece of the 4th and 2 stop of LenDale White. If I'm on the DL, I'd listen to Rod Wright.
  20. His surrogate dad/father figure Steve McNair was traded away from the Titans before VY could get there. And he was killed three years later. So his support system crumbled in parallel to his difficulty with "Coach 7-9."
  21. Man what a precious memory. So I have a story about this. That evening I saw Ty Allert at Maggie Mae's and he introduced me to his fellow San Diego LB teammate Billy Ray Smith. I was so happy about the game I asked Ty if he saw that final play and Billy Ray started moaning in pain. Of course, I wasn't even thinking about him being a former Razorback. He was very cool about it, seemed like a very nice guy. Fun times.
  22. In his Monday press conference recently, he said he does a post-mortem of the season and that they evaluate everyone on staff starting with himself. I would love to know how fair and complete of a job the evaluation looks and use that as a guide to how we should look at his compensation. Given his past, I was very concerned when we hired him because of the amount of stress that comes with the UTHFC position. I thought it would be one of the most difficult challenges to his sobriety imaginable. I love that he's been successful and the growth that he's obviously had over the years, including his time on the 40. At this point he does look like our long-term guy. It's so damn nice to have this feeling again.
