  1. And I can guarantee if it happens on the Georgia sideline, Kirby will be right in the Refs face about where the that Ref comes into picture at the end.
  2. Yea I don’t get that at all either. I think at a program like Texas , you go through the season to try to get more reps and then make that call when the transfer portal opens in January. On the flip side, if his heart and head are not engaged, then it’s best to part ways.
  3. I agree. OU sux needs to give him a Jimbo like contract!
  4. https://x.com/orangebloods_/status/1978163096083419491
  5. At this point I give that a zero chance of happening unless Kirby gets trucked by an opposing player during a play. I mean he shoved a Miss State player last season and he claimed he didn't remember the incident and the SEC office basically said nothing to see here.
  6. You might be right. I had better hopes SEC officiating would be a ton better than what we experienced in Rig 12 and it is , but marginally IMO. When we played Bama in 2023 at their place and the SEC Refs called the game, I thought they gave us a fair shot. But then when we played UGA last year all bets were off. My thinking is some of the SEC Ref crews are true Blue Bloods and resented the new teams coming into the conference and in particular us because we are not exactly a Southern school in a small town/city like most of our counterparts. UGA does get of favorable treatment but I contend one reason it's because Kirby is always in the Refs ears. There is some logic the Refs will throw a coach a bone or two to shut him up. But yes they do seem to get more favorable treatment much like we've seen in the NFL with whomever is the top dogs or who is supposed to be the top dogs like Kansas City. Or back in the 80's when I was kid it was San Francisco
  7. Indeed. This has to be a first for at least a very long time. LOL maybe going back to when they were Big 8 and we were SWC?
  8. This...Never understood the hype for Mateer in the sense he was never Heisman material or even a game changer for OU. His work last year at Washington State was nothing to really to write home about which included loses to New Mexico and Wyoming and going to OT against San Jose on top of a couple of more losses and close games to really no bodies. The argument from the media and OU fans was he'd flourish with a SEC quality team around him. But when he played against Auburn and Michigan what you noted about his throws was no different from what we saw Saturday. Unless the pain affected his ability to run and he was guarded for wanting to avoid taking a nasty hit directly on the thumb area or landing on it, it was very much our defense that contained him which Michigan and Auburn had less success doing.
  9. Elmo is from New Jersey? I thought he was good ol’ Southern boy or from the Midwest?
  10. I think Burnt was in a damed if you do, damed if you don’t situation. Their fanbase was pretty much locked at this time last week when social media and the OU Insiders started momentum train rolling that Mateer would be ready to go on Saturday. Of course Mateer helped feed the narrative too.; Had Burnt benched him after being cleared to play and they lose the hot seat temp would’ve been upped several degrees. It’s possible Burnt and his Defenive staff thought the Texas D lost a lot of its edge from the Ohio State game due to the play against Florida and though Mateer could withstand the Texas D.
  11. I made a comment on the game thread about Arbuckle and the sudden media love he was getting and he’d be shown on camera as much as CBS shows Taylor Swift when the Chiefs are on CBS. Funny they started the game during OU’s first drive which resulted in a FG showing Arbuckle several times with Herbie slobbering all over him. But once their offense started going southward and Mateer collapsed under pressure, I don’t think I saw one more camera take of Arbuckle for the rest of the game.
  12. It would be awesome if someone would do the same to Kirby as he runs up and down the sidelines like he did with his timeout and at times (many) on the field of play. I’d love to see him trucked and then finally flagged for sideline interference.
  13. I would’ve supported Auburn fans throwing bottles on to the field. Really.
  14. I wish someone would knock Kirby and his visor on his ass
  15. This SEC crew should be tarred and feathered.
  16. Fact.
  17. Time to get happy drunk!
  18. Oh shut up Herbie.
  19. Niblet is a man!
  20. This has to be a record for holding calls called against OU
  21. Damn short by a few.
  22. Got to go for it here
