  1. It looked like slight hesitation for reading the hole. I jokingly said to my buddy I was watching the game with that Wisner was initially shocked to see the online get movement on a third and short.
  2. This. He did make a couple throws during the game that showed the thumb wasn’t a big issue at all. Some posters on this board noted that when Mateer was at Washington st, he struggled against good defenses. That’s basically what we saw yesterday.
  3. Underrated part of this play is Townsend keeping his head on a swivel and making a key block.
  4. Lance Jackson is going to be a monster.
  5. But sir, the most reputable posters on this platform have confirmed it to be true. Moreover, Twitter — the most reliable bastion of objectivity and credible reporting, particularly when its comes from anonymous burner accounts — has also verified it. We are turbo fucked.
  6. We could really use a dynamic back like Blue right now.
  7. I really don’t know what this means. He got here in May so Sark saw something after the spring camp that needed additional eyes, but it’s not working. Or maybe Sark wanted to bring another coach in because we can and Drevno’s hire is completely irrelevant to the issues on the Oline.
  8. Our best options on the online right now are guys that can move people in the run game. I really don’t care who they are— we just need to give our run game a chance to succeed.
  9. I think what Saban brought to his assistants the most was execution on game days. Simply put, his presence on the side line was felt top to bottom. Sark has course corrected multiple times on different aspects of the program throughout his time here. But Sark doesn’t have that feel on game days like Saban does. Most college coaches don’t. The correction usually comes after the fact and is really hammered in the offseason. Sark intervened with PK after the first year and we really haven’t looked back since. The offense on the other hand is his baby. The reflection and plan to action is different. I truly believe he’s a great great play designer and play caller but there is an obvious disconnect on game days that I fear can only be fixed if he approaches it the way he did with the defense.
  10. Sark is throwing everything including the kitchen sink at the offense right now. Arch is too erratic to find a consistent groove during the game which makes it hard for Sark to adjust. Once the game slows down for Arch we will start to see the offense have more an identity. We were able to find one with Ewers and his deficiencies (he at least had an oline that could somewhat pass protect). The identity Sark eventually finds with Arch will still look flawed because there is no fixing the big bag of shit our Oline is right now. Wins are just too difficult to find with the combo we are getting from Arch and the Oline.
  11. I’m not sure if anything will be done during the season regarding the Oline. Maybe Flood has too much agency with the Oline and Sark needs to take the that away from him. The whole unit needs to be reconstructed after the season.
  12. Yeah, this is a good theory. I think it’s something he can grow out of since for the most part he’s been receptive to criticisms. The Oline needs to be taken care of though. Whatever he and Flood are seeing in practice needs to be fixed. The decision he makes with the Oline going forward could determine his trajectory as the head coach of Texas.
  13. The opposite can also be true. Herman and is gang of idiots wasn’t developing their hand picked talent or even attracting talent. Sark will have a good amount of his guys drafted this year but there needs to be some change on the coaching front in key areas. On the portal takes, it’s a new age in football and it shouldn’t devalue the role of a coach. Guys leave programs and try to land at ones that can get them to the league. Golden is a good example of Sark elevating his level of play and getting him drafted in the first round.
  14. Nope. This was the worst performance by the defense since ‘23 Oklahoma or ‘23 Washington(Penix had the game of his life against our avg at best secondary). This was game was an outlier performance for PK.
  15. Our LB’s were having trouble early because our Dline was getting their ass blown off the ball.
  16. I can usually stomach an oline that gets straight up beat due to lack of talent but still understands assignments. Unfortunately, in year 5 of Flood we’ve seen “talented” olines get beat by lesser opponents and looking clueless on what do assignment wise. Florida had 3 sacks and lowest pressure rate in the P4 coming into the game and the oline made them look like they were ‘85 Bears.
  17. Part 2 because I’m on mobile and messed up. Cal Higgins Grubbs Jack Mckernan Brett Crossland Brody Walls
  18. For those who are not on social media. Highlights Haiden Leffew Burns Luke Harrison Ruger Riojas
  19. It doesn’t matter how good it looked or if it wasn’t explosive enough. The run game, either with your eyes watching live or looking at the box score, was good enough. Objectively, our Oline is piss poor at the moment but was able to give Texas almost 5YPC against Ohio st. If anything you should look back at the Ohio st game after watching the Oline the previous two weeks and say better QB play gives a win. My initial response to you wasn’t even about the overall run game this year. It was specifically about the historical 3 high against Sark/Qb’s and the Ohio st games.
  20. Against OSU the first time Texas rushed for 58 yards. This year the run game was good enough but Arch couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn and struggled to see the field. The 3 high stuff against Sark wouldn’t even be a thing right now if he had consistent average qb play. Ewers struggled his first year against the 3 high and then after that it wasn’t a big deal. If Arch continues to struggle, teams will continue to run the 3 high if they have the right personnel and will be successful.
  21. It’s really just rhythm for the offense. That’s what they need right now more than anything. Sark isn’t going to ask the world of Caldwell; he just needs to execute the most basic day one install routes.
  22. Both Thompson and Card looked their best under Sark imo. With Ewers there was too much injury derailments that hindered his true development. I’ll die on the hill that Ewers was a good to great Qb(not elite!) when healthy and average at best when dealing with any type of injury. Just the nature of who he was as a player which was frustrating to watch. I also think the pro style offense we run really challenges QB’s processing ability. Someone like Ewers would have looked way better in a simpler offense like the Air Raid but the readiness wouldn’t have been there at the next level. I think it was confirmed the style of offense Sark runs played a big role in the Manning’s decision to pick Texas. Ewers’ first year starting in the offense was rough and real bad at times. Maybe we’re witnessing that with Arch on top of the complete circus going on between his ears. So, I’m not ready to fire the alarm bells with Sark and the QB’s, yet. If the reports from Bobby and Gerry are true, that everyone inside the building is completely flummoxed about Arch on game days, then Sark needs to let the kid breathe. It seems to be complete mental execution with Arch. If we could be a fly on the wall during film today, I’d bet Arch is relaying exactly what Sark needs to hear from a guy that’s struggling.
  23. Yeah, I can see that angle. If I’m McLaren they have 2 good drivers in the fastest car so no more papaya and let the best man win.
  24. I totally agree but the bold is where my head is at. If your Lando or Piastri in this situation, how would you be feeling as a competitor trying to win the title?
  25. What an awful feeling that must be for Lando and Piastri.
