There’s no way you could have told me in the mid 2010’s that R1 story would be the start to some of the best Star Wars ever put together. This is not only going to make R1 that much better but it will add to ANH in ways I’ve never thought were possible. The amount of sacrifice Gilroy displayed to the audience was astounding. The human cost of a rebellion in Star Wars has never, and probably will never be, presented in such a raw and up close type of way. Just brilliantly done. I love Luthen so much and the first episode of the night was so damn good to his character. His moral complexity through out the series could not have been written better. He was cold but calculated and you can easily see why the rebellion on Yavin would grow tired of it. His actions weren’t always noble but they were necessary. Good on Andor for making that known.

That was a tough first episode of the night.

It’s a shot from the trailer. edit: from season 1
  4. On the flip side, here is JT O’Sullivan’s opinion on the play. (I hope the sound works) ScreenRecording_05-13-2025 13-11-10_1.mov
  5. I think it really started with mid to young Millennials and Gen Z took it up a notch. For baseball in particular, the players started to differentiate between what is meant to be a celebration versus something that is actually meant to disparage the opposing team.
  6. Pretty sure Tennessee was the team that had a player hit a home run and after rounding first he flipped off either the second baseman or the right fielder. What Jonah did was like a 3 out of 10 on a scale of nothing happened to very bad. And our coach still went out to intervene and calm him down. Who gives a fuck what other the other fan bases think.
  7. It’s not surprising to see the offense pressing when they lose their Friday night starter and the pitching starts to fumble a bit trying to find their groove again. I agree with you (I think it was you) that our pitching has covered up some flaws in our lineup. Feels like the bats are trying to do too much at the plate in an attempt to pick up the slack. And honestly, outside of Ruger, the pitching staff did a decent enough job this weekend. I was kind of shocked to see them struggle so much at the plate outside of one inning in game two. I think guys like Rodriguez and Williams are standing out a bit more because they are keeping their approach caveman style—see ball, hit ball. And for the most part they are still able to work the count. Maybe not having a game on Tuesday will give the guys a mental reset.
  8. Jonah’s pitch to make it 2-1 was in the exact same spot as Stewart’s strike out call. What’s new tho
  9. There’s a good chance Borba is going to hit a ball hard every at bat. Just don’t know if it will be pulled fair or foul.
  10. This would be a great time for Borba to demolish one.
  11. Not really. The former doesn’t mean you watch meatballs down the middle in a hitters count.
  12. The approach at the plate is just bad right now. I don’t think there’s much Schloss or Tulo can do. Schloss said after the Arkansas series he was frustrated because the game plan was to be aggressive and the guys simply weren’t attacking at the plate. You just gotta hope it’s a really bad slump and they’ll figure it out soon.
  13. Back in the win column bb. Go win the series tomorrow!
  14. Not even close lmao
  15. Mr. Strawberry, Chip is saying that there were eight or nine guys dealing with the flu and Ruger was one of them. Looks like you were correct with him dealing with some fatigue. At least it’s not something injury related.
  16. Losing control could also mean something mechanical that isn’t due to injury. I mean, the guy was thrown into the Friday night role. His first start was damn good then he gets shelled away which can happen to any pitcher. Ruger simply could have been trying to do too much on the mound tonight. Or maybe I’m just reluctant to throw out the word injury with how much we are dealing with on that front.

Imagine those fucking eyes appearing in a dark room.
  18. I’m not saying he’s not hurt but Ruger’s velo is still there and he doesn’t look uncomfortable physically. I don’t know what is going on with the last couple of starts but maybe they just over calculated from what went down in Arkansas and found themselves back in the same position. It could be as simple as he got rocked so hard that it is indeed mental now. Everything that wasn’t missing the plate was up.
  19. Mendoza completely lost.

I doubt we get this level of maturity ever again from a Star Wars project. I have friends that like Star Wars and what Andor has done but fall in the line of thinking that the franchise isn’t meant to be this mature. The farthest they think the franchise should go is on the level of R1.

Someone jokingly said Syril taking a mini nap in the middle of dinner with his mother and Dedra was foreshadowing his eventual death. And to think, Soller, the actor who plays Syril, completely improvised the mini nap on set.
