  1. Indeed some aren’t getting it done, especially out of the pen. Gordon would be our Tuesday guy but Witts injury has shown us the guys we all were expecting to step forward and become bigger players out of the pen are struggling big time. Southard has great stuff but no consistency with control. Sthele and Cobb have been OK as whole thus far(I would have picked Sthele over Southard tonight). Ekhardt is looking like our Tuesday guy for the moment but he might have been viable option out of the pen. Dre is hit or miss, maybe coming out of the pen will provide better results? Not looking like it. Luke, Stewart, and Johnson are young and unproven with Luke looking the most promising. Then you have the guy that shall not be named but rhymes with flair. The rest that I’m missing haven’t done much either. I do think that the Witt injury has hurt them mentally with guys pressing too hard at times but right now it is what it is. Witts injury is long and gone and guys need to suck it up and throw strikes.
  2. Maybe we took the entire staff for granted because there’s not a ton to be desired when looking at this years staff as a whole.
  3. Yep, made the comment earlier in the year when Witt first went down that we were going to feel the loss of Cole the most.
  4. We get a quarter of the RISP in and we have a 5 run lead, maybe more, going into the 9th.
  5. For the future I have this bad feeling that if it’s a close lead with Stevens and Pete, and the bullpen needs to finish the last two or three innings, it’s going to be a 50/50 chance we win or lose. There’s just not enough consistent reliable arms in the pen.
  6. Pete had 3 bad pitches the entire night while sitting down 17 straight in the process. He pitched a good game. Kinda sad we went all smooth brain there at the end.
  7. That’s embarrassing
  8. Now would be a great for you to get going, Silas.
  9. Not like this Southard
  10. Lmao the ump followed Faltine really close all the way to second.
  11. The low strike call is going to be there tonight
  12. Should be a fun weekend
  13. 2 really good back to back at bats for Melendez and Stehly. The fastball for this tech pitcher seems flat.
  14. Kennedy lead off 💣!!
  15. Yeah, the way they are setting up in the lineup it’s hard for them both to fall off too much. If they stay patient with good discipline like you said then eventually teams are going to have to suck it up and throw to one of them. The challenge is obviously that it’s easier to stay disciplined against IWU type pitching than most of our conference opponents. I’m excited to see how they handle it going forward.
  16. Stehly is in right. Is we put Campbell back in right the then we just traded Daly out for basically the same thing in the lineup.
  17. Then who’s going to play second?
  18. I don’t think Card being used as a battering ram would have been a good idea.
  19. I mean he’s played in every game except for one.
  20. Thanks, haven’t been able to watch a ton here lately. It’s nice to see he’s adjusting to make his swing shorter. Props to him.
  21. Did Messinger shorten up his swing?
  22. What a great day to do nothing. Start off with F1, then Texas baseball going for the sweep, and to finish it off Texas basketball fighting for a spot in the sweet 16.
  23. Bahrain is Bahrain at this point but I’m afraid Danny is going to start out slow again this year, hopefully not. I think I read Lando has 200 testing laps more than Danny.
  24. Uh, crappy hitting is nothing new to the program. Hell we were a 2 seed last year and went into the first World Series game striking out 21 times. 21. This year is starting to look exactly like last year hitting wise, we either hit the ball or don’t. Not a whole lot in between.
