  1. The one that still is killing me is Hodo at second. Maybe it was Daly...I can’t recall who it was for sure. Ground ball at you or behind go—it’s that fucking simple. His secondary lead didn’t even make the decision hard so there’s no excuse.
  2. So what if we win tomorrow, are we back to Omaha worthy? Is it a game to game basis?
  3. Wonder how many @NorthLoop drank last night with his daughter having a sleepover during the game
  4. Indeed and the ump is another factor that I a may not be putting enough thought into. I guess I felt that the risk was to great leaving him in there after the first batter. Anyway, he had a helluva showing in the 7th and 8th which is huge for his overall growth.
  5. I’m not saying this is certain but I’m pretty sure the second batter was where we were trying to get them to chase up and away. This could be for a number reasons, more than likely trying to get the hitter to chase while combining it with a good pitch out in case of an attempted steal. Witt also was facing the 2 and 3 hitter in the lineup so pounding the zone could be asking a lot for a freshman in that situation. It only takes one pitch and Pierce was probably trying to avoid that when he got into favorable counts. It’s a tough tho because Witt had thrown a good deal of pitches, was rolling and the go to thought is keep pounding the zone but it gets more risky after each pitch he throws in the zone.
  6. Yeah I’m not against taking Witt out after the 8th, he had every right to go back in the 9th. But after walking the first batter and not pulling him then is where I disagree with Pierce.
  7. I think when Witt started over throwing his off speed to the point where it was effecting his grip should have been a sign to Pierce. Witt was trying to hard, he had 1-2 count but still lost them. That’s another major sign to get your pitcher, a freshmen, off the mound after the first hitter and get in another arm. Which was ironically a freshman as well but hadn’t throw 40.+ pitches.
  8. I agree. Pierce seems to do this more than he should. For example, the maturity the freshmen have shown over the course of the season is extremely impressive. But he still needs to do a better job of balancing their limits with their talent. I feel like he struggles with pulling the trigger on certain guys because of the success they’ve show but again they’re still only freshman going up against some good ball clubs.
  9. What a fucking battle by this team. 13 hits, clutch hitting, clutch defense and clutch pitching - some all around damn good baseball these guys just played. So fucking proud of what this team displayed tonight! Fuck the roaches and take the series tomorrow! Hook’em🤘🏻
  10. Ever since the ankle injury he’s been rusty. Needs to calm down and let the game come to him.
  11. Lowell would like a word
  12. Is Lowell going to be on more now?
  13. Agreed. Would like to see him go at least 6.
  14. This series loss will help us in the long run and be a wake up call in the meantime. Texas played good baseball at okie st and probably came into this series a little to cocky against a well coached ball club that just lost a home series to Baylor. Combo that with Ty having an unusual bad outing and tech playing perfect clutch defense, and well it is was it is. Learn from it, grow from it and be ready to play a big series against tcu.
  15. Yes. Cams not horrible at 3rd, he’s just the least impressive of a solid infield core. Although, Zubia has had some head scratching plays but nothing like his previous seasons.
  16. Cam doesn’t have the range for the outfield
  17. Young but talented team loses the first game of a big series to tech and is now only down by 2 with runners on. This series is not over yet and if they do happen to lose the series tomorrow, let’s wait till after the tcu series to fully judge this team. Look, I’ve been one of the most critical when in comes to this team and particularly with Pierce but their goal of winning the conference is still attainable. But some of you guys are acting like they just got swept by tech when in reality they still have a chance to win game 2 and obviously game 3. They can drop this series and go to Fort Worth pissed off and win that series, which would leave us winning 2 of the 3 big series. That’s a damn good result from this team.
  18. Anxious to see how this team react.
  19. I never realized the XA has always been like that or at least here recently(?).
