  1. I'm not here to cloak things up, but I don't think the tariffs themselves are what caused this meltdown and the correction after unveiling them didn't have to be a complete walkback to calm the market. The problem is this is stupid any way you look at it. It was stupid how it was announced, rolled out, picked, communicated, justified, any way you look at it it is completely and utterly stupid. Its completely devoid of any rational thought or basis in common global reality. It is stupid on such a profound level, no one knows what the fuck to think. When no one knows what to think, herd mentality is the most dangerous, and right now there's a mass exodus of both foreign and domestic dollars out of the market to get to something someone thinks is safe.
  2. The bottom is any company that isn't actually profitable and was using stock issued to a frothy market to pay for shit going to 0. Buckle up its gonna be a fucking ride.
  3. Dude I'm not sure what you are talking about. Do you have any proof whatsoever?
  4. I'm down to sanction a boycott.
  5. Just don't threadshit with Politics only, leave any spin or opinion on the political side out of it you can put any opinion on the economic/news/business side of it.
  6. Not too worried about it, comes with being an active poster. I'm not gonna speak for Wulaw, but I do know he's not in CR much if at all these days and he's definitely not openly rooting for anything like stassney is saying. If it was obvious that he was supporting things antithetical to the spirit of surly we would stop the sponsorship. I need some help understanding that though if it's the case.
  7. Are you confused about posters? Wulaw doesn't post in CR AFAIK and the sponsorship is paid.
  8. What are you even talking about? Is this one of your sarcastic posts it's hard to tell what you are joking about anymore.
  9. Not trying to be a dick, but that is a totally different thing than this. If every black person in the united states protested or did a strike it was only 11% in 1960s and its under 15% still today. If half the population protests or strikes then shit will happen real quick.
  10. Not sure I agree with violence, but protests need to actually be disruptive and cause something. They can't just be a way to get your feelings out
  11. Yeah if all these people just didn't work for a week it would be impossible to ignore.
  12. Yeah I'm not sure what this even does. Protests need to be peaceful but completely disruptive to something to work. Everyone going out and being pissed off that things aren't going well isn't gonna do shit but make people feel like they did something. These protests should happen any time doge tries to enter a building or when they try to close a park etc.
  13. I was told all hedge funds sold off and were gonna buy the dip wiping out retail investors.
  14. video.mp4
  15. This is actually accurate lol
  16. This is what happens when don't vote would have won the general.
  17. Kobe. Not even close. He influenced the entire roster, kawhi is just a good player.
  18. I guess my extremely sarcastic tone from the previous 3 posts didn't carry to this one. I'm making fun of how stupid this thread is, many others understood the assignment lol
  19. No I didn't, and the post wasn't emotional. The significance cannot be understated and it's not a power dynamic between retail investors and hedge funds/mega funds on who is gonna catch the upswing of a secondary market. This impacts the primary market and intrinsic value and revenue of nearly every single company on earth, not just a few in a sector here and there.
  20. Idk how to get this thread back on track. Try to leave politics out of it.
  21. I think some of you are really not understanding how hard it is to stab someone once and they die.
  22. Same, I'm a bull moose through and through. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bull_Moose_Party
  23. Lol this is just so wrong on so many levels it's impossible to even reply to seriously. Was there always a correction coming? Sure. This is not a stock market correction, it's an entire recalibration of a global investment strategy which is primarily going to be driven by "don't invest in America, they are batshit". It cannot be understated how absolutely insane what happened yesterday is and will continue to be when the ripple effect begins. This is just the first wave. I saw somewhere, this is worse than anyone had on their worse case scenario bingo card for what was going to be announced, by a fairly wide margin. There's multiple primary effects that come from it, but the secondary and tertiary effects are going to be big and not good.
