So Axos may have had a choice, lose $175 million against book value right now, or potentially more on liquidated property right now.  They may well still lose the same amount a few months from now, but at least for now they are able to kick the can down the road a bit.

    Do I have that right?

If they took his stake in a property they hold the note on as collateral if he loses they get the whole property.

Our stuff is maintained and updated. 40 year old Russian armor still has the same engine oil it left the factory with. At least the little bit that hasn’t leaked out.

I was comparing it to the French gear being donated. The Russians are puting stuff from the 1950s back into service

If the good guys win and MAGA is defeated, and our national politics return to some semblance of normalcy (a huge if), it's going to be absolutely insane to look back on Trump years from now. If we lose shit will just get worse, though perhaps never quite as bizarre as the Trump era.

Either way, there are going to be a shitload of Trump movies and shows coming out for years.

Mel Gibson is probably salivating about doing a Passion of Christ type tribute to Trump.

Republicans hate poor people, yet poor people still support them.

We really need to get in on this grift.  Trump took our Bible selling idea.

Maybe we could do our own translation of the Bible, only in MAGA speak, so we leave out all of the parts about Jesus helping poor people, crippled people, etc. and about treating people nicely.  Basically leave in the Old Testament, and a dozen pages from the New Testament.

Republicans and MAGA love stupid and hateful people.  Stupidity and hate knows no sociopath-economic boundaries.

Now I'm curious. Is Joe Biden any good at golf?

The rub is that DJT can’t even stand upright and stay still.  He’d collapse within six holes.  He can’t even walk to the greens, he drives his cart everywhere.

I was talking to a neighbor the other day about the occasional coyotes I see in our yard. I had one pretty close to the house but didn't have a pistol handy to shoot it. He said he'd use a long gun, which makes sense but their houses within 1/4 mile behind us and I told him I didn't think it was a good idea. He told me he has a .30 cal and .50 cal air gun which would take them down. I won't bore you with the rest of the conversation but when I ask him about charging them, he said it took 30+ minutes with an air compressor. I didn't ask him how he was planning to get a coyote to stand still for 30 minutes while he charged his gun.

Which leads me to my question. What good does a gun do you if you have to wait 30 mins to an hour before you use it. Does anyone have any experience or insight to why they make sense? They can be as expensive as regular rifles and besides the novelty, I can't see any real advantage with them.

Not making any accusations in about your neighbor but a while back I had a neighbor that liked to target shoot and we got to talking about it at a block party.  I invited him to come to the range with me but he declines and  tells me about his setup and that he shot high powered air rifles.

A few months later we found out he was a convicted felon sex offender.  The reason he only shot air rifles was because it was illegal to have a regular weapon.  Just sayin.

Teri Lynn Roberson, couldn’t care less about the business fundamentals.

Roberson, 52, from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex in Texas, said she purchased five shares of Trump Media at about $72 a pop, right around the stock price’s Monday peak, to show her support for the former president.

“It’s mainly to support Trump and his legal battles,” she said.

Might as well have made a donation, she did not buy anything of value.  I wonder how many digital trading cards* she bought.

*I don't think you can call them NFTs because IIRC, they are not secure and registered.

How is losing the second time by 6 million votes doing better than the first time again?

It was a personal best!  Also best outing ever by a loser!

I'm sure it doesn't take long to get a privately held company in a condition to be publicly listed

I think the company is already public, they are merging Truth into the SPAC, like a holding company of that asset.  The price of the SPAC has already been trading on the news/plans to merge Truth into it.

    Question

I'm too lazy to google right now. Why is someone merging with Truth Social?

If Trump get a billion by listing on Stock Exchange, will this be like Telsa, people will just be pumping it up because they're fanboys?

It's one of Saul Goodman's money laundering schemes.  You know like donating to a go fund me or running for political office and having PAC money funneled to your expenses.

I don't think admitting that you have the cash helps you in your case to have the bond waived, not that he had much of a chance anyway.  Whatever cash he does have is probably for operating expenses and paying the outstanding loans.  He can't use that or he'll default, he can't lose a property to seizure because it is the collateral for another loan.

The reason I think Cannon is galactically stupid is not limited to the fact that she is bungling the law so badly.

If she wants to throw the case for Trump, this is among the most unwieldy, obvious, and obviously appealable and reversible ways to do it.  And if that is her plan, she apparently is too stupid to realize it.

All this will do is delay the case.  There are subtler, more discretionary, and unappealable ways to do that.

She hasn't fucked this thing up yet, but if she persists on her current course, she's going to get another public spanking from the 11th Circuit.

How much will Cannon be able to delay the case due to the staff shortage?  She has to have time to hire and train replacements, right?
