  1. Did Tucker take into account that Russian median household income is like half of that in the US?  No.  When you take into account the disparity in income then you can see that the "discount" on groceries is not real because of how much of your income it takes as a percentage.

    Other great things in Russia

    • Life expectancy is about 10 years lower
    • Alcoholism is much higher
    • health care is mush more basic
    • Access to outside information is censored
    • Go to jail for what you say on youtube
    • Conscription to become fodder in Ukraine

I've been to Russia (Actually USSR) back in the late 80s on a school trip.  The tour guides take you around to the nicest tourist approved places.  When you walk across the street and look behind the high cinder block wall and see the slums they get mad.

I thought we were an autonomous collective! We’re actually a Layer Cake?

Ah, now we see the violence inherent in the system.

Here's a theory.  Maybe all these deaths are from people that were chosen by the lady of the lake but were too drunk and clumsy when that watery tart threw a sword at them.

After all, it is called "Lady Bird Lake"

Side question for us olds...why are like 80% of TikTok videos shot while sitting in a car?

    I have a few theories:

    1. Car is cleaner/nicer than their house/apartment
    2. Car is quiet and decent acoustics.  House is noisy, someone in the background is yelling at the kids
    3. They have a phone holder on the dash.

I have to guess that there are more than a few attorneys who are passing on top dollar advice to the whistleblowers’ attorney. Outside of Ted Cruz, does anyone have more hatred towards them than Paxton?

Right, Biggest shitheels in Texas starts with 1. Cruz the bad luck charm (Glad he likes the Astros and not the Rangers) and number 2 is Paxton.

Not sure what merkley’s reasoning was but Bernie’s is on brand.

If a Jewish Senator is calling out Israel then maybe we should scrutinize a little more.

Isn't the Biden Administration ask that Israel allow for evacuation of families from Raffa before the army goes in?  Is that a bad policy?  WTF, are we trying to create another Putin in the region?

It's like republicans are taking crazy pills:

    1. Putin bombs apartment buildings - don't let the Ukrainians have anything to defend themselves
    2. Civilians are trapped in Raffa - Don't ensure they can evacuate before Israel bombs them

These are really the Republican positions on these matters.

i will say this -- it surprised me how little all the other celebs got.  they did that one around-the-stadium thing showing lebron and lady gaga and some others.  shot to joe montana at the beginning.  other than that, it was just tswift.  i think she was the only one worthy of showing more than once.

Let me disabuse you of that. If you're actually seeing the embedded content, it's still being served by YouTube/Twitter, and the browser cookies they use to track you are still being sent to their servers. They know who you are, they know that you're watching a video, embedded or otherwise, they know when you did it and where you did it from.

They absolutely collect, just like how Google Ads are still showing targeted ads to you on non-Google sites.

Sorry, I was confusing and imprecise.

They get more tracking data if you have an account and they can see what you have viewed over time.  If it is embedded they get less data and if you purge cookies or watch incognito or other techniques even less.

The part about Truths being screenshots and not tracked is true and if we copy and paste screenshots from twitter instead of embedding tweets that would not be tracked here either.

Correct. Apartheid Elmo still doesn’t understand who the customer is or the product he is selling with Xitter. Limiting eyeballs to Twitter is a choice, and a dumb one.

Yeah, I assume you mean our eyeballs (viewers) are the product and the advertisers are the customers that pay for more eyeballs.  So give away the platform and sell the ads makes more sense.  Charge a premium for fewer ads. (YouTube, Spotify, etc follow this model)

But there are strange quirks about embedded tweets and youtube videos I have noted

    • They never show ads (twatter or youtube).  They need to drive you to their platform to serve the ads
    • I have a strong suspicion that they are not able to collect the demographic data on the viewers without your account login info so the advertisers would probably pay a lower rate for non-targeted ads.
    • Off topic, I think this is one of the funniest parts of Truth Social - the main content to draw viewers is Trump but all his crap is posted as screenshots (not even embeds that they could track) by Bots on other platforms where it gets a lot more eyes so there is no incentive to advertise on Truth if you can get a bigger audience on TwiXer.  I guess the targeted prepper, red hat and lumpy pillow buyers might be an exception.  At least youtube and elmo can track embeds
  10. ACB has been challenging the Trump arguments.

On the disqualification argument about Congress “could” remove the disability with a 2/3 vote. If Congress wanted to remove the disability they could do it today.  The fact that they have not removed the disability for Trump means that they don’t want to and that saying they “might” do it in the future is like a prison inmate saying let me out now because the governor “might” commute my sentence in the future.

Yep, but over at fox news they'll have some outrage story about Taylor Swift or andocrene harvesting instead of these rulings.

So does this ruling affirm that a sitting POTUS does have executive immunity, or does it just say should such a thing exist, it doesn't extend past time in office?

They specifically call out the a former president can be prosecuted for any CRIMES committed while in office.  Executive immunity would still apply to official duties because the official duties of the president are not criminal.

That bit about following the advice of pillow salesmen and conspiracy theorists instead of say the advice of Whitehouse counsel is coming back to bit him.

So what's next?  Is that final or does he get to appeal again?

Yeah, He'll wait to submit his appeal to the USSC on the last day but my bet is they decline to hear it unless the money flows to hear it just to delay and then they deny the appeal anyway but the straightforward apprach would be to deny the appeal.

Eh, it would be nifty if he were incapacitated with something; say a stroke.  A stroke so bad that the GOP would somehow have to shift over to someone unelectable nationwide like Cruz to be on the ticket because Trump would be in such bad shape that they would have no choice to have a Plan B, but at the same time still coherent enough that a huge chunk of the MAGA verse would still hinge on every incredibly slurred word he someone uttered, and would refuse to even consider voting for Cruz.

Who am I kidding; the GOP would go full Weekend at Bernies and just prop Trump up here and there every few days between now and the election and the press wouldn't even bother to ask basic questions like "Why isn't Trump speaking in public?" and people like Steven Miller would be ghostwriting the Trump social media posts and there would actually be pundits using that social media presence as proof that Trump "has grown up!"

     I already covered this:
