  1. Sam is tolerable at times, but E should be banned from saying anything publicly for the rest eternity.
  2. No, because we didn’t have to win that game. Plus, my option 3 literally said “saving it for the playoffs.”
  3. The lack of Arch usage boils down to 3 possibilities: 1) Arch is not capable of giving our offense a spark. 2) Arch is capable of providing a spark, but Sark is too stupid to use him more. 3) Arch is capable, and Sark has been saving it for the playoffs. I don’t think anyone on this board is brain-dead enough to think it’s 1, so it comes down to 2 or 3. I know there are people on here that think it’s 2, but I for one think (and hope) it’s 3. Sark has taken our program from being a complete joke to back-to-back playoff appearances in the span of 4 years, he gets paid more money than most of us will ever see to make smart decisions, AND he’s still widely respected by non-biased analysts as one of the best offensive minds in college football. I think it’s reasonable to have a little faith and count on us using Arch in a much larger capacity moving forward.
  4. Not to mention some much-needed rest for Wisner. 60 carries over the last 2 weeks had at least a little (if not a lot) to do with his ineffectiveness last night.
  5. Quinn not listed at all? That's huge!
  6. A lot is being made about us being at a disadvantage with this being first night game in front of a hostile crowd, but I haven’t seen anyone point out the fact that aggie has a freshman QB starting his first game ever in this type of high pressure situation. The 105k rabid fans will worship him if they win, but they’ll just as enthusiastically want to lynch him if they lose. That’s a ton of pressure.
  7. No, I was agreeing with your point.
  8. It's almost as if the transitive property doesn't apply to football.
  9. I've always thought the way he ran the route looked like he thought there was 0 chance the ball was going to be thrown his way.
  10. It was a stupid question anyway, considering there's a chance this isn't anyone's last game at DKR.
  11. You gonna listen to that from a gimp, who’s prayin we lose so he can be the missing link?!
  12. Quinn, Milroe, Jackson Arnold. FIFY
  13. Doesn’t make a shit anyway. We won’t need a punter this week.
  14. Advantage: 2024.
  15. Alabama is far more likely to lose both these games than they are to win them both.
  16. Texas - 34 Michigan - 14 Michigan Receiver yards - 135
  17. Horns win 52-10 WR Yards From Scrimmage = 352 (which will include a long run on a jet sweep pitch/handoff).
  18. We may want to poach some, but it sounds like they have all banded together with the "Fuck Schloss, we're not going anywhere" mindset. Several of them have made social media posts to that tune.
  19. I love it. I'll admit he wasn't on my wish list, but I think that was mainly because I didn't even see him as a viable option. Due to his recent success with building a program from nothing into a national champion in 3 years, I didn't think he'd even be interested in leaving ASU. I've obviously always known him as "the coach that created the greatest swimmer of all time", but I never really knew much more about his coaching style. Once the hire was announced, I dug into videos, podcasts, interviews, etc. to learn more about how he runs a team, and I was fired up with what I saw. Once the initial shock wore off, I was left firmly believing that CDC made the best possible hire for a vacancy that was left by the greatest to ever do it. I realized the other names on my wish list ultimately made no sense compared to someone with a resume like Bowman. With all that being said: I don't think we can rule out anyone for the baseball job, even if it's whoever wins it all in Omaha next week.
  20. I recently learned firsthand to never believe any rumors about Texas coaching hires while CDC is the AD, no matter how many people claim to have a "reliable inside source". Explanation: I swam for Texas, and one of my teammates (who was one of my groomsmen in my wedding) is now married to CDC's personal assistant. During the UT swim program's recent head coach hiring process, I figured I was in position to get all the inside info and/or leaks before the official announcement was made. I read lots of "insider source" rumors on various college swimming message boards, but each time I checked with my buddy his response was basically "I haven't heard a single word about any of it. I wouldn't risk my wife's job by telling you the name if I knew it, but I swear I don't even know the name". And sure enough, once the official announcement was made (Bowman) was not one of the 2-3 names I had been hearing from those "insider source" rumors. The moral of the story: if CDC's was able to keep the name of the new swim coach from leaking through his personal assistant who is married to an ex UT swimmer, I trust his abilities to make other hires without leaking info as well. This actually makes me sad, because I used to love reading into the rumors and getting fired up, but that fairy tale is over for me. On the flip side of that: the fact that CDC was able to hire a swim coach 2 days after he won a national championship for another school gives me great confidence that he's not going to swing and miss on this hire. I agree with all that have said the silence thus far is a great sign. He'll make the announcement once he has his guy, so I tend to agree that his guy is probably in Omaha.
  21. Not sure if you're being serious or sarcastic, but I'll take the bait on this just in case you're serious. Being a D1 college swim coach is an extremely stressful job. There's a significant amount of science that goes into creating a swimming training program, and the catch is there's no such thing as a "one-size fits all" program for college swimmers (especially males). You've got to plan out the entire year in advance in terms of how quickly you ramp up to your most intense training period, then how long you stay at that intense period, and then how quickly you back off the intensity as you head into the big meets. Then you have to take that plan and tweak it slightly for 30ish individuals every single year. It takes a special mind to be able to put all of that together and coach a successful team, and once you reach the level where you're expected to deliver national championships on a regular basis (i.e. Bowman at Texas), the stress levels are very high.
  22. I thought he was a Georgia lock. Did I miss something? Would love it if we got him.
