  1. Those were his Tennessee stats through two games before he got to Houston
  2. These beta nerds never finished a dungeon in D&D
  3. France's big leap will be in 2032. If their young guys pan out, they might have a chance at surpassing the US for that cycle. . Wemba might be the best player in the world in 2028, but the rest of their roster will either be really young or really old. Canada will probably be the competition in four years; they'll be able to fill a roster with 12 NBA players who play regularly while being led by Shai I'm assuming Jokic won't be elite in four years, and Luka and Giannis won't have good teammates
  4. Fairly certain that Embiid was trolling France I'll be shocked if Embiid is in good form in four years. He already runs like a 40 year old man There are other small athletic guards who are better shooters and defenders, and who are less of a headache. Like Maxey.
  5. He played pretty well at times for Houston last year
  6. I mean, he could immediately make his team better by hiring a non-shitty OC
  7. They're both talented, but Zion doesn't defend, doesn't shoot threes, and doesn't stay healthy, and Flagg will be 21 years old. I'd say Flagg might have the better shot of the two
  8. Non Curry USA players shot 46.2% from three in the tournament. Curry shot 46.8% The shorter FIBA line is easy money for a lot of NBA stars
  9. Ideally sure, but that's probably not reality. The all-NBA types would rather have the summer off than play in the World Cup, especially if they're coming off of deep playoff runs
  10. Random note I just heard (I'm not fact checking it).. all Iowa defensive starters are at least 22 years old
  11. I don't really agree. The US can field a team of about 8-10 players who can knock down open or mildly contested FIBA threes at a 50% clip plus a few more who can do it at a 40% clip Steph is the best shooter of all time, but the US can still fill the court with nothing but good FIBA three point shooters
  12. I've been thinking about the future of the US Olympics team, because there's a good chance we won't see this level of talent (three all time top 15 players, plus three more current top ~10 players in the world in Embiid, Ant, and Tatum, and several more top fifteens in Booker, AD, Haliburton, etc, plus Holiday who's been a excellent national team player) again for a very long time I think there are three ways to build this next team out 1) Just put the best and most senior NBA players on the roster, and plan on out-talenting everyone. This team is built around Ant, Tatum, Booker, and Embiid plus other elite shot creators like Brown, Brunson, Kyrie, Mitchell, Fox, Zion, etc. It's not necessarily all iso ball, but it's much more static than we see most of these national teams play. Probably a lot of post-ups, pick and rolls, and 5-out iso dribble drives 2) Prioritize players who can both catch-and-shoot threes at a high level and also defend. This past gold-winning team shot 46% from three across the tournament, and I thought that shooting ability was ultimately the biggest reason for sweeping the tournament. Even if you're a bit of a ball stopper/surveyor but supreme shot creator, if you can catch and shoot at a high level, it's fine. That's past team did have some defensive holes, with the most obvious one being Steph but also Embiid's inability to close out on three point shooters. This team isn't necessarily just taking the best NBA players, but just a bunch of players who don't have weaknesses within FIBA ball. The biggest question is which players can be your offensive hubs in four years? This strategy leaves out Tatum (shooting) and Embiid (defensive switching), small guards who'll get picked on defensively, and any other non-catch and shooters 3) A hybrid of the two, with a couple of primary offensive hubs surrounded by role players. This is the strategy of the recent gold-winning team, but without the three all-timers I prefer option two, but I don't see them going that way, and it'll probably be one or three
  13. He's a good power scheme runner, and a terrible zone runner. If Mixon is healthy, they should trade Pierce
  14. Hunter looked awesome Diggs is in over Dell on 12 personnel Pitre playing nickel allows the run defense to be more solid when they're sitting back in two safety shell, and also allows him to blitz (his best skill) with less of a telegraph than when he was playing safety. You don't want him covering someone on a slot fade, but they'll probably have him passing off deep routes Texans vs Packers Super Bowl, imo
  15. Which was my point The room is fine as it stands. If more injuries occur, Niblett makes sense
  16. Niblett makes sense if there’s an injury cluster at the position and you need bodies because it’s week 10 and you’re down several running backs. He got plenty of carries in high school so he’d at the very least be comfortable taking handoffs, and he’s dangerous with the ball in his hands. He also probably doesn’t hurt the two-deep like moving someone else would If you just need short yardage because Blue goes down, then sure there are better candidates
  17. Niblett is small for a RB, but he's probably the most skilled of the bunch
  18. We get a good look at Fisher tonight, along with Green's first full healthy offseason in a long time
  19. Thanks for the info I'll post again that people shouldn't fret over the starters in the secondary since the 2nd string plays almost as much as the first, unless the defensive philosophy has changed with Nansen coming in
