  1. Has that guy had scoops in the past? I'd be surprised if Houston signed Mixon based on his history, and that could easily be coming from the Mixon end
  2. That metric was pretty good considering the offensive line injuries the team dealt with all season
  3. There isn't a first round RB in this class, but there are ~9 good RBs who can be in rotations as rookies. Ray Davis played for a McVay guy at Kentucky, so he should be able to step in day one, for instance Were people freaking out last year before Caserio signed Singletary for $3.75m? How did that turn out?
  4. There's always options at running back in the banana stand
  5. He's been consistently better than Greenard, but Greenard is younger and is entering his prime
  6. Also, Aaron Jones could be a nice fit considering he played in a similar offense for the last five years, probably depending on price
  7. By the way, Arik Armstead hasn't been released yet

    2024 NFL DRAFT

Dallas turner makes sense for them
  9. There are good RBs in the draft, although you don’t want to go into a season with them penciled in as your starter I like Ray Davis
  10. He's signing a cheap deal. Do the math
  11. I mean, he's played football since the injury healed
  12. There's still a dozen good starter level safeties out there. It'll be interesting to see which Houston signs
  13. The team knows Greenard better than anyone else. I'm not an appeal to authority guy, but when teams let their own guys walk, they're usually correct. Houston might get a good comp pick down the line Wilkins ending up in a four team auction among teams with cap space, and at some point you have to walk away when the most desperate team keeps matching offers I didn't love the idea of Saquon and I'm a bit alarmed Houston even gave him a competative offer, but I'm guessing DeMeco wanted him. Houston should be able to find good RB production for much cheaper in this offense, and also has a chance to draft a good fit like Ray Davis There will be second and third tier options out there at various positions who'll provide surplus value once teams start using up most their cap space, and the team will be deeper going after those options since it couldn't land the top of the market guys
  14. I'm more than happy that we aren't paying top-dollar for Saquon
  15. Houston has done really well with their cheap one year signings recently
  16. There's also Danielle Hunter and Leonard Williams
  17. There are some good second tier DL options, and having to go that route allows you to allocate more money elsewhere
  18. Wilkins to Las Vegas
  19. Mays/Tice talked about free agency, and mentioned the Texans a few times (going off memory) - Should be players for the top DT (Christian Wilkins) who's going to be very expensive since every team with cap space will be after him, but if Houston doesn't land him, then Leonard Williams for 30% cheaper would make sense for Houston - When asked which team could pay top of the market for the top safety rather than try to find value at the next tiers, Houston was mentioned first - They don't like the Saquon Barkley fit, and think a zone running back who regularly gets you positive yardage makes more sense (like a Henry). Other than RB or a two-way backup TE, they didn't really mentioned Houston on offense - They like Houston for a #3 rotational DE like Espinesa - Teair Tart could be a nice upside roll of the dice for some teams, but Houston could bring him back - They like Houston for a two-way Mike like Jordyn Brooks, or to a lesser extent Azeez Al-Shaair who has experience with Ryans https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/free-agency-preview-best-fits-big-tickets-under-the/id1528622068?i=1000648452479
