  1. No, it's not. Social distancing and wearing masks were to "flatten the curve", nothing else. That means nobody really avoids it, but rather everybody doesn't get it at once. There will still be the same number of cases, but the that total will accrue over a longer period of time. Wikipedia has a moving graph that will make my post look less stupid. Just make sure you and BradinATX hold hands while crossing the internet to go look at it.
  2. Yeah, the Big Ten is in the backseat. That doesn't leave much wiggle room for the Big XII. Anything less than undefeated and it's over.
  3. That may be the point, but leaks go both ways. Anybody who ever wore a respirator or a gas mask in the Army remembers the drill of covering the filters and then blowing hard to make sure you had your straps tight and a good seal. I don't see anybody getting that with a surgical mask. Hence, the OSHA blurb on them not being effective for airborne contaminants.
  4. ...but smart enough to turn on my spellchecker. 😄 Tell me again how you are the smart one, it gets old, but it's still good for a laugh...or as you would say, "luagh".
  5. I didn't say I didn't wear respiratory protection. I implied I would have been dead by now if I tried to protect myself with a surgical mask. I used a half faced, dual filter respirator and a full facemask. I'm giving up. I can't tutor you and debate you at the same time.
  6. It's more like fencing in 75% of your pasture. It doesn't keep the cattle in, it just takes longer for them to finally get out. Nobody is going to NOT come into contact with the coronavirus by wearing a mask, it just might put it off until later. Hence, the oft forgotten phrase, "Flattening the curve". An idiot like me shouldn't have to school you geniuses. I was wearing masks and respirators long before you became an expert on them by reading the internet.
  7. I used to work in a electroplating lab, handling Caustic Potash, Caustic Soda, Potassium Cyanide, Chromic Acid Flakes and three other kinds of acid. We DID NOT use a surgical mask, even though the dust, mist and particles were 20,000 bigger than the virus. I was also state certified for asbestos removal, and I would have been fined for trying to use a surgical mask instead of half face respirator with N-100 cartridges. But hey, if wearing a half assed mask in a half assed way makes anybody feel better, then they should go for it.
  8. Seriously, I hear people here in Nebraska said the Big Ten tried to screw us with the schedule, but most complain only of the pettiness of it, not the actual schedule. Most are excited to see how Frost does in Year 3 against the Big Boys. Nebraska isn't going to get better by playing the Little Sisters of the Poor. One can't get any notice beating the likes of Maryland. Trying to build a win-loss record by tip-toeing around any real competition is best handled by the SEC. They are masters of it.
  9. This is from OSHA: "Surgical masks are not designed or certified to prevent the inhalation of small airborne contaminants. These particles are not visible to the naked eye but may still be capable of causing infection. Surgical masks are not designed to seal tightly against the user’s face. During inhalation, much of the potentially contaminated air can pass through gaps between the face and the surgical mask and not be pulled through the filter material of the mask. Their ability to filter small particles varies significantly based upon the type of material used to make the surgical mask, so they cannot be relied upon to protect workers against airborne infectious agents." https://www.osha.gov/Publications/OSHA3219.pdf So go fight it out with them. I know it must be hard to always be the smartest person in the room. Just announcing it constantly must be a drain.
  10. It's time to fish or cut bait. Time for Frost to show us what he's got. One can't judge how good a team is by playing FCS schools. Players don't know how good they really need to be if they don't play the best.
  11. We don't care as long as we get to play. Besides, if we really are still "bluebloods", then you want to get off the porch and run with the big dogs.
  12. Just like you, I am starting to see a pattern here with the Big Ten. It revolves around the word "stupid".
  13. Did you hear the one about the traveling salesman and the farmer's Junior VP of Public Relations?
  14. You didn't see their game today, did you?
  15. ...and yet, here Aggy shows up in a thread about the Big Ten, no less. Yeah, you're over them.😀
  16. I guess I'll have to take your word for it, having never been to one myself. Wait, tell us all it was just one...
  17. Nine years is a long, LONG time to have a chapped ass about Nebraska leaving the conference. Then again, there's no healing on the horizon for Arkansas bailing from the SWC, is there? That was 28 years ago.
  18. Or else a lot of them are just football fans and bought tickets to see a football game and would like to see only that football game. How twisted is that???
  19. At least a 20 minute call has one minute of communication. I have seen texts go back and forth with no communication taking place. Worse, is that both sides THINK that communication has taken place.
  20. Did you try to convince the kids by asking, "What could possibly go wrong?"☺️
  21. I can't say. I wasn't too old at the time, but that would be my guess. Otherwise, who in their right mind would let go of the hang glider? Back then, we called them "Rogallo wings". LOL, after Mom read about it in the paper, she warned all of us kids for the umpteenth time to "Stay away from that river!" I guess falling hang gliding enthusiasts were added to her list of the inherent dangers trying to kill her kids.
  22. This whole cell phone / internet / computer fad. I will be glad when it all blows over in a couple of years. I work in IT, by the way. So that's a professional opinion. Here's another professional opinion: "Texting is not a valid form of communication! If it's important, call!"
