  1. https://robotacopdx.com/ I had a carne asada taco and a pork belly taco. They were delicious. Washed them down with a Paloma.
  2. I was out and about in war torn hell-hole Portland last night. After rambling down the fire bombed streets I stopped for some tacos and tequila and then headed over to The Get Down to see this guy. Black Joe Lewis
  3. Did the Pack A.D. open for them? I dig them.
  4. I live just north of the Columbia river in Vancouver, Washington. Door to door I'm nine miles from downtown Portland. The Texas Exes meet here https://thefieldspdx.com/ for game watching. We don't have that big of a crowd usually. This is really a Georgia bar. My son has a soccer game that ends right at kick-off so I'll probably just haul ass home to watch it this weekend.
  5. I discovered that my favorite Portland band, The Macks, will be playing on Sunday 11/2 at the 29th St Ballroom opening for Acid Mothers Temple. I might have to add this show to my itinerary. Tickets
  6. Sunday in Portland they're planning another Naked Bike Ride to protest ICE. I took part in the one in July with 7000 other riders. It was chilly but a fucking blast. I had a great time. I'm planning on doing it again but am a little apprehensive about the conditions and the response from the gestapo. Sunday is forecast to rainy and a high of 57. Brrrr.
  7. Also, I didn't realize that the cartels were out of business. Those boats comprised the entire organization? Damn, cocaine makes you multitask like a fiend.
  8. ^ WTF?
  9. Is Portland Burning? This is a link to the live cameras around Portland.
  10. Just picked up two tickets to NIN in San Francisco. They're not coming to Portland on this tour so I'll go to them. I'm looking forward for my travel concert plans. 10/31: Viagra Boys, Stereolab, Black Lips @ Far Out ATX (My buddy and I got our shrimp costumes already lol) 11/1: DEVO & B52's ATX - DEVO gear is happening of course 11/11: Tame Impala - Forum in LA (fly in fly out) 3/15: NIN - San Francisco (fly in fly out)
  11. You should check out their opener King Buffalo. Pretty bad ass psychedelic stoner rock.
  12. Ricky has experience playing FB Bijan could be behind him
  13. I have dinner with my parents every Wednesday. I'm really happy that my 14yo son gets to spend so much time with his grandparents. He might not appreciate it much now but when they're gone he'll have a wealth of memories to look back on. My mom is 82 and my dad is 79. They're not in the best of health but have recently started trying to improve. Dad has lost 15lbs (85 to go) and my mom has started going to the pool to work out and rebuild strength. I'm really proud of them but I've noticed in the past few months they've been talking about their impending death, a lot. Yesterday, my mom wanted to show me her new book and presented me with this: I appreciate that they want to make things easier for me and my sister when they pass but this feels so morbid. I suppose I need to quit with the denial and accept that the end is nigh. It's tough to think about.
  14. Got free tickets to see Redder Moon tonight. They are a goth darkwave band. I look forward to the goth tattooed girls that will be in this windowless basement venue. For real. That is my wheelhouse.
  15. Gas up here in the PNW is closer to $5/gallon.
  16. That turned my stomach. Fuck!
  17. So big change of plans for my trip to Texas. Instead of flying in to Houston to see Devo and the B 52'son 11/2 I am now flying in to Austin to see Viagra Boys on Halloween and Devo on Saturday 11/1. Probably be in a shrimp costume for Halloween and my Devo gear for, well, DEVO. I'll have at least one of my compatriots with me in full gear.
  18. I get it. I had lumped them in with the Sleaford Mods as soccer hooligan music. Then I watched that documentary I posted upstream. It completely changed my opinion of them. Now I love them.
  19. Thank you, sir!
  20. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening to wrap up my summer backyard concert series. The warm sunny day transitioned to a clear cool evening and made for a sublime setting for an amazing performance from Tim Perry and Mira Stanley. I am so grateful and honored that artists of this caliber grace the stage in the Backyard at the Barage and share their immense talents.
  21. I want to see Idles sooooo bad! If you haven't checked out their documentary it is well worth a watch. Completely changed my perception of them.
  22. Worth it. They put on a great show. Research Chemicals was particularly great.
  23. Not The Ritz. I was pretty much a fixture there in the 90's. My roommates worked there.
