The language certainly does not take the personal recommendations and discussion away from physicians and their patients for individualized Covid vaccine decisions.
It is pretty clear, five years and multiple strains later that Covid has become a nuisance illness for the vast majority of Americans. If you really want to make a difference in vaccinations that are currently have poor uptake then the focus should be on adult RSV, pneumonia, and flu vaccination rates which have suffered under public hesitancy of vaccines since Covid. This is in addition to childhood immunizations like pertussis and measles. And while the current and very public and tragic measles outbreak is highly concerning, many more children died this year from RSV and influenza.
All the other adult and pediatric illnesses I mentioned currently have a much higher morbidity and mortality than Covid.
Public health should not bow to the political and media hot potato.
