  1. No clue, maybe a few who brave it and the lucky ones in boxes and under overhang. If the game gets out of hand one way or another, I expect mass exodus. Rain and winds out of the north 15 mph. Fantastic! Which team gets an edge with craptastic weather?
  2. I appreciate you not being unhinged in your response because I am aware of your revelations about yourself on this site because I'm not responding to frothing unhinged post. I don't belong to Focus on the Family or utilize any of their resources. But the original implication (and now admitted as tongue in cheek) that was the violence perpetrated here was directly responsible by groups that disagree with homosexual marriage/lifestyle. Many posters have now decided to make this a referendum on the evangelical church and their views on homosexuality and marriage. You absolutely can find a lot of hateful rhetoric from mainstream "christians" and there have been many threads on the topic. But that's one of the biggest strawman for this shooting that I've seen on this site outside the CR. The original topic was whether the shooter was a member of a Christian organization (or received his violent referendum) that advocated for violence toward the community that visits the nightclub. And that's not the case so far. There is no ground swell movement within evangelical circles to commit or condone violence. Pew research shows well over half of evangelicals support homosexuality or don't think much about it (live and let live). I'm not accusing you of this but it's intellectual dishonesty to pin this recent shooting on one or two factors of influence. Colorado has laws for this. They weren't followed. These laws were passed partially in response to Sandy Hook. There is failure in the system. But the shooting was preventable.
  3. More fringe and not representative of mainline large organizations like Focus on the Family. Fallwell backed off his rhetoric 20 years ago. And while Pat Robertson is a stain on evangelical Christianity, he is not representative of the whole. The logic of applying fringe guilt to a whole group with a same label is what the far right used to codemn all Muslisms for terrorism. Not a good strategy. Kudos for your research. So if you’re going to throw a large organization in with the hateful rhetoric of these churches and TV huckster, then you need to provide examples of their rhetoric that supports hate and violence.
  4. Pollard has a gear I haven’t seen from Elliot in a couple of years. Bijian is Zeke and Elliot combined. Hope he doesn’t get wasted on a J Jones team however.
  5. Only half?
  6. This is Surlyhorns. Jumping to conclusions and hyperbole are not only tolerated but condoned and rewarded.
  7. Well it’s probably a good sign that your kids don’t like booze.
  8. I know luck = hard work + blah blah blah but TCU is due. Yes, Patterson left the cupboard stocked and Dykes is a good coach but TCU sold their soul to keep pulling the wins they have.
  9. Inarguably? Lol. They just barley named the shooter. So yeah, I think you can argue. Hyperbole Is an exhausting way to go through life.
  10. Yeah that small fringe group that potrays absolutely no Christian values is your anecdotal evidence that the 22 year old shooter is a card carrying member of Focus on the Family. Maybe the shooter is an absolute nutcake that should have had mental health treatment and no access to weapons. I would start with that angle instead of blindly lashing out. Actually I would start with it’s a tragedy that could have been preventable and let’s mourn the senseless deaths and injuries while we gather evidence on why it happened.
  11. No dipshit, js1 is more concerned about the religious right than innocent dead people.
  12. Not at DQ. That air conditioner is a window unit haphazardly stuck in thin wood paneling and has managed to collect 10 years worth of grease and dust on the vents. To make it worse, it is always three feet from the back corner bathrooms blowing the scent of toilet cakes and old man urine into the heart of the restaurant.
  13. Ah yes, tragedy and death. Perfect time to bash a group you don't like. Never stop being Surly.
  14. You’re more optimistic than me on those deep routes.
  15. I think you mean most funnest. It’s like a Penders team with defense.
  16. Going to have to go back to making my own eggnog. I grew up on the production Borden stuff and actually like HEB's light eggnog but that stuff is over $12 a gallon right now.
  17. I "feel" like if Russian wasn't launching a barrage of missiles aimed at civilian infrastructure then the Ukranian missles would have never been launched in the first place.
  18. I agree that positive reinforcement is the best thing to do BUT make sure that person wants to discuss weight at all. There's a ton of emotion that surrounds excess weight and a person really needs to be receptive to discussing it even in positive connotations. There could be a "Gosh, Washpark thought I was an ugly fatass before I started losing weight and now he comments." Yeah, I know damned if you do, damned if you don't. People will usually initiate sharing about their weight loss if given a chance. Then you can feel out how much they want to discuss.
  19. I agree, people who are laying this completely on Ewers are one dimensional critics. Unless Ewers is uncoachable, then a bunch of this is on Sark. It's painfully obvious that there are game plan adjustments not being made and Sark cannot rely on his inexperienced QB to be an in-game manager. Walking up to a defense front obviously stacking for the run, sticking with a run up the middle and not changing the play is lazy and/or inept head coaching. Continuing to allow Quinn to zone in on Worthy on a deep route time and time again has been mind boggling. Definition of insanity type behavior. Minimal involvement of some other extremely talented offensive players is poor coaching. Sark needs to adapt and while there have been some very creative play calls, he craps the bed when he stubbornly sticks to his script. Yes, it sucks that players are making stupid mistakes, but you need to coach around it. Certainly you can score a touchdown in a game and a half with the personnel on the roster. The stubbornness of Sark trying to enact "his" offense with players who cannot operate it yet and scheming so predictably that an opposing D coordinator with an IQ of 78 can figure you out will be his downfall.
  20. With hits like “Someday”, “So Far Away” and “Burn It to the Ground”, this could be the perfect fit for Sark’s third season.
  21. Especially when you have some of the fastest players on the field. Smh.
  22. She’s probably going to need life long therapy and sue the Air Show and the pilots’ families for getting exposed to this tragedy.
  23. So B12 refs infiltrated to SEC. No harm in letting that play out.
  24. That fumbled ball could have been advanced. What are the announcers talking about?
