  1. I found some fun YouTube reviewers called Bourbon Junkies that were pretty entertaining. I think they’re based on Michigan, but they have several great reviews of a wide variety of bourbon and seem to know their stuff. They don’t take themselves too seriously and appear to be genuine enthusiasts. Feel free to check them out if you’re so inclined.
  2. I have a Private Select from Alamo City Liquors and enjoy it quite a bit.
  3. Anyone ever tried Early Times BiB? I read several good reviews of it as a quality lower priced bourbon. I picked some this afternoon, but curious what you guys think about it.
  4. Unfortunately I don’t have anything unopened to trade. Still building up my collection, but I’ll drop you a DM if I come across something interesting.
  5. What is this magical site? I’m just looking for a fucking bottle of Blanton’s in San Antonio.
  6. Yeah, I paid $65 for it. I’m sure it’s overpriced, but I’m still looking to figure out what I like and I’m willing to overpay for the first bottle. If I don’t like it I just won’t buy it anymore.
  7. Hasn’t seen it around in a while, but picked up some McKenna 10 tonight.
  8. It looks like there is a silicone mold that you put over the glass and then you fill the mold with water and then freeze the glass. Then you pour your bourbon on the ice mold. Click on the link and there’s a picture with step by step instructions of how it works.

  10. Feeling like a Maker’s Mark Private Select and Eagle Rare kinda night.
  11. One would have to think that some of the rarer bourbons won’t be gobbled up by bars and restaurants and actually make it to liquor stores. I can’t imagine they’ll be buying as much as they normally over the next few weeks, so maybe some of us will be lucky enough to land some W12 or Blanton’s. Trying to stay positive in the COVID-19 hysteria!

I think the security guard broke the Russian’s neck against the tire.
  13. So that’s what it’s like to be fucked in the face for 40 minutes.
  14. Picked up a bottle today from Alamo City Liquors ($42) along with a bottle of ECBP C919. Eager to try both after the recommendations here.
  15. There’s a great Mexican breakfast/lunch spot on Stone Oak Pkwy called Vida Mia. The chicken mole chilaquiles are unreal.
  16. I’ve always thought of the ending of the series like this. When Benioff and Weiss were chosen to do the show (back in 2005) I bet they thought the 5th book would be out by the time the last season of the show, so they would only have one or two seasons without source material to draw from. Instead, they ended up doing the last three seasons on their own and we all found out that they’re nowhere near the writer that GRRM is. I wish they had kept their focus on GoT instead of branching out to other projects (which no doubt diluted the quality of the final few seasons), but I suppose in Hollywood you need to strike while the iron is hot since you never know when your days are numbered.
  17. Big’z Burger Joint is about midway between 1604 and I-10 (about 10 minutes west of 1604/281), but they have great burgers and a big lawn area for the kids to run around. FYI, Freetail is a bit further west of Big’z on 1604 and is solid as well.
  18. Longhorn Cafe serves up a mighty fine CFS
  19. Drinking some 1920 right now. Very complex flavor profile, but really enjoyable.
  20. Ah ok. The only one by me is Palenque Grill, so I stand corrected.
  21. They’re two different establishments. Palapas is a quick service location while Palenque is a sit down restaurant. Both are good, but it’s like comparing Five Guys to Chris Madrid’s.
  22. “This move really shows how dynamic Jimbo is as a recruiter. Leon was the greatest safety prospect of all-time and Jimbo was able to land him. Then within two years of landing on campus, the best safety in college football can’t even crack the two-deep in Jimbo’s vaunted secondary. If that’s not real recruiting, I don’t know what is” /Looch
