  1. If you can believe it, Greensboro, Georgia. We were golfing at Great Waters, and not looking for bourbon, well, not for collecting.
  2. I have had success finding both Blanton’s and E. H. Taylor (full proof and single batch) over the last two weeks. One place had the Blanton’s sitting on the shelf. Something I haven’t seen in a long time. Anyone else experiencing this?
  3. Mike’s a treasure. But he is one delusional fucker…
  4. I have absolutely no data to support my conclusion, but I like our chances.
  5. Congratulations. Hope you both find unlimited happiness…
  6. I like that…let me see what I can cook up..
  7. That’s what I’m talking about! Hey, I dig that modern equipment is technically better. But, there is something special about listening to a broadcast over such a radio. I’m sure it has to do with nostalgia on my part…
  8. Let me give that some thought. I wouldn’t want it to come across as ostentatious.
  9. Wow, that is a much nicer than mine. A little before my time though. Most people have no idea of their history. I have a JT4 (55?). I got mine while we were stationed in Kegnew Station (Ethiopia) in the early 60’s. Supply Sargent would pass them out to military dependents. Man, that was one fucked up place to live.
  10. Well, one of three. Warren being the only one she named publicly.
  11. “We came this fucking close” that’s it, that is their logic.
  12. The question I have as I am not a lawyer. Does the Sherman Act play into this? And could we see Congress get involved?
  13. I can say the movie Woodstock probably shaped my opinion more than anything. Before that movie my impression of The Who, and their act was that they were quirky. Woodstock changed that for me. I saw for myself that they had matured as a live act. They had powerful songs, unfortunately I didn’t particularly like many of them.
  14. That’s actually quite clever..bravo.
  15. I have not tried that, but I like my chances.
  16. Buzz, I am a collector of musical history. A collection that spans almost 7 decades, and subsequently became the soundtrack of my life. It includes all forms of musical media, as well as original art work, sculpture, photographs, vintage audio, and if you ask me, some really fucking nice instruments. You would salivate if I let you get anywhere near it.
  17. I get lost trying to understand how in hell did the guy who wrote Magic Bus, also write Behind Blue Eyes, and Baba O’ Riley?
  18. I’m in the same place. Probably 5 or 6 songs that I really like. Never got the band. However, I do disagree with those hacking on their talent. I believe all of them were really fucking good musicians.
  19. That is awesome. The desire to be important really is an addiction.
  20. The interesting thing is the quirky shit. Because they were released years apart. The powers that be added or removed certain songs and or vocals. Take Kiss’ second album. The song Black Diamond does not appear on the cd. I’m sure it’s some kind of copyright bullshit, but it’s different. It was my favorite song on the fucking album. Same with intro to T for Texas on Skynard’s live album. On the CD you get the complete Steve Gaines intro by Ronnie before he plays that wonderful intro. None of that is heard on the album. The same with the Jimmy Carter announcement before Sweet Home Alabama. Just some examples when comparing the different formats. I love stumbling across the anomalies.
  21. I’m an audiophile, I keep everything. Besides CD’s, I have a nice collection of albums, cassettes, 8-tracks and both 4” and 10.5” tape. They all sound very different to me. Though I understand few others would bother to care.
  22. ou looks younger, and smaller. Skip’s no facial hair policy really exaggerates the difference.
