  1. I was merely answering a question about Day being rumored to be looking at the NFL. I haven’t followed actual NFL hires though.
  2. Neuheisel has been saying that Day and the Bears could be a thing for weeks now.
  3. I think you had asked about the two guys being lowly rated to some effect? If so, and I haven’t checked rankings yet for the 2026 class, but both of the dudes we’re talking about are going to be big time P4 targets, including Texas. The way I’ve heard them spoken about, they sound like top 150 guys. It sounds like both guys would lean UT. If the number does move to 105, I do think that increases the likelihood that Texas tries to get greedy in certain spots.
  4. I don’t have an opinion since I haven’t seen either. The word is that they’re planning on taking 2 true safeties, so maybe both guys get the push. The thinking as of last week that I heard is that the Panther Creek guy is a better football player and the North Crowley dude is more athletic but might not ever be the better football. Why wouldn’t they take both guys? Maybe they will or maybe they have someone else ranked higher than both as a priority. Not sure yet.
  5. This dude is toxic in every way. The idea that any place worth a shit is going to give him a shot in the spring seems absurd.
  6. There are like 250-ish draft picks in each draft. Guys below that are highly unlikely to be drafted. That list looks like ass.
  7. Do you honestly believe that this is a thing for Texas or anyone else?
  8. I laughed. In all seriousness, no one should be surprised if that dude gets poached in the next year or so.
  9. The Panther Creek S is the number one target at that spot on the board. Not saying there won’t be other targets, but he is number one. That includes the potentially higher ranked dude out of N Crowley.
  10. I don’t know, man, the issue looks systemic. It’s not like Sarkisian has only sucked in the red zone with Ewers. Also, the Grubb stuff is the worst fan fiction you guys have been tossing out.
  11. It’s funny, I haven’t thought much about who good candidates would be regarding red zone aficionados. I’ve always had a high opinion of Mangino. That would be a hilarious hire.
  12. And then ATM intervened. This was more of a case of the guy thinking he’s worth more than what Texas thought he was. UCF was presumed to be his landing spot for reasons that aren’t solely financial. So ATM must really want him if he goes there. Niblett played all over the field this year and got snaps in many games, usually while the game wasn’t out of hand. The staff likes him. Sarkisian, allegedly, is falling in love with the concept of optionality. Winston, Townsend, and Niblett are all variants of that at different sizes and the scatback with two initials for a first name in this 2026 cycle is also being valued in the same way. What that eventually means for the evolution of this offense, if it does evolve at all, is anyone’s guess. I posted about this on the recruiting board today after getting an earful from two separate and unrelated ends this week about Harris and how he is valued by Sarkisian and maybe not so much by others. Too lazy to go find it or rewrite it, but I offered what I can on it.
  13. You’re being overly optimistic. I do expect Lott to be a Longhorn in the end though. The IOL from Klein makes the most sense. I find myself wondering if Stewart sticks with the commitment, or is allowed to stick with it. The number is almost always going to be 3 or more, especially with numbers going to 105. Of course, that might be why Stewart stays committed as an inexpensive 4th guy on a larger roster. They are going to go after a WR in the spring if they’re able to get traction with the right one.
  14. The thing about legacies these days is that you can still land them, all things equal. However, when everyone else knows the player is a legacy, they’re going to make sure they help that kid get his market value from the home team.
  15. Sounds like something the #1 Chuckles Fan would say.
  16. You should change your handle to “#1 Chuckles Fan”.
  17. Not sure what anyone else is talking about but you just compared Chuckles to Bill Parcells and it looked like you were interested in putting in more work to defend the guy. So please, keep going.
  18. Harris is a laconic yes-man who’s constantly more reactive than proactive. He’s bailed out by a HC who is something of a control-freak when it comes to roster management and oversees in great detail that issue on behalf of Harris - when he has the time. He’s also regularly bailed out by the NIL machine, even as he’s talked shit about it unwittingly to people involved with it. The latest experience with this guy was the program being flat-footed on transfer risk coming out of the Cotton Bowl. Everyone was left scrambling when over 30 guys came forward with demands Unacceptable. As SC alluded to, not everyone in the coach’s offices thinks he’s the cat’s meow as he’s frequently seen playing favorites. Finally, Harris himself is allegedly a leak to OB and probably passed those thoughts on himself in order to ensure it’s part of the dialogue. I don’t care about the playcalling and don’t see him giving it up, but he absolutely needs to hire a red zone assistant that he takes seriously. An older, former HC known for being great on that front would be awesome. Someone from the NFL maybe. He’s incompetent in the red zone and someone needs to call him on it if he doesn’t see that.
  19. The posters who cling to the notion that Sarkisian is UT’s Jimbo Fisher are some of the dumbest motherfuckers on the planet. I see them on Twitter as well, throwing out the canards of various stats that appear to show Fisher outperforming Thirteen Win Thteven through 4 years. I’m sure a few of them know better and just prefer to troll, but most of them really appear to be too stupid to grasp trajectories or all of the obvious gaps between the two regimes. By the end of year 4, the attrition and arrests and numerous other culture issues were starting see a lot of daylight. There’s none of that at Texas under Sarkisian. Similarly, because of the abject failure of their mercenary class of 2022, many of them really do seem to believe that the same thing will happen to other highly ranked classes to follow. They seem to be legitimately unable to see the obvious reality that that class is the fucking outlier. It was the most expensive bagged class of all time and they pulled those mercenaries into a culture rotting from the inside. The issues were so clear that we spoke of that class having issues there in real time. Their behavior shouldn’t surprise me, but it does. These are truly stupid people.
  20. Sir! In the spirit of Abe Lemons, I’d like to buy a glass-bottomed car just to see the look on LotusHorn’s face as I ran him over. Also, having never read this thread except for this last page, this looks like some sort of bum fight. Sarkisian pretty much fucking hates the NFL, btw. Credit to him and Sexton working another raise though.
  21. I somewhat agree. Most of the time, cordial should be the approach. However, sometimes, a motherfucker needs a beating and you need to fight your way through the fodder to get to him. I never felt that way in football, but a GBall guy, like 6’6”, 230 on their court, straight up punched me in the face during a free throw shot. I went after him in the handshake line and while he laughed as people were pulling me back, he also seemed fine that people were physically restraining me: Vernon Crawford at Texas City did the same in hoops after two years in football telling me he was going to fuck my mother while I caught passes on his ass. And then I tried to pull a pitcher out of his girlfriend’s house after he was protected by his Dobie teammates to get him to the parking lot after he threw at me on 4 straight pitches. He later played for years in MLB too, so his arm was a lethal weapon. I saw him at a wedding that I was paying for a few years ago and he tried to apologize to me. What a complete pussy. It’s been 30 years, pussy. Enjoy your pension. So now that I think about it, I don’t know how much I disagree. That said, I don’t if I am a standard example of the norm.
  22. That’s mostly bullshit. I won’t tell the story that my friend told me in private, but a recent meeting with key boosters for both NIL and infrastructure bombed in ways that were uncomfortable to hear relayed. He would have been more motivating if he’d have showed up nude and drug his balls all over the snack table, dumped the tea urn over the top of his head and then walked out the entry door while whistling dixie.
  23. I’m interested to see if they even let that dumb motherfucker fly back with the team. That was a truly stupid follow-up to a td saving tackle.
  24. Forgot to say that the other big thing is that there is a feeling among everyone observing that this team is getting outcoached every game.
  25. I asked someone yesterday who is a patron of the program while we were on a call sorting some other shit unrelated to basketball about the future. The bottom line is that Terry is really well-liked, but he’s not motivating anyone. Money is down, attendance is down, ratings are down, and enthusiasm is down. The biggest problem for him is that the Moody Center is dead during games and poorly attended. He has to make it to the second weekend or he’s gone.
