  1. I guess I'm not sure I understand what needs "rethinking" in this landscape. Texas is a have, not a have-not, but it isn't the only one and a few are bigger. If Oregon or Michigan or Ohio State wants to turn everyone else, including Texas, into a developmental school, then there's no recourse on our end. Dell, Hildebrandt and others with 11 figures are not participating with Texas. Guys like them or with even more money than them are playing roles for other groups. We cannot crowdsource our way out of that problem. He sucked in the playoffs, and that directly follows the beginning of shit talking in social media. He's been paid really, really well. If someone wants to pay something absurd for him, and he's checked out, so be it. The guy has made close to $2M since stepping on campus two years ago. We can and will get angry at whoever is buying him, but I also don't begrudge anyone who has a problem with the player here also.
  2. Muhammad has been talking shit about leaving and "not shorting himself again" for more than a month. I'm assuming he's gone. I assume others include Wingo and Hill with the way everyone is acting.
  3. Texas just signed the #1 class in the country. NIL and those aiding it aren't an issue. There's not really anything that can be done if a billionaire comes in over the top for someone or if an aggressive collective offers a ridiculous pile of cash to someone. An entire roster has to be managed.
  4. Sounds like everyone needs to prepare their anus and some things are about to get ugly.
  5. I think I wrote this elsewhere, but with unlimited coaching roles available for hire, Sarkisian could easily create an "Offensive Red Zone Coordinator" position and hire someone with a proven background as a playcaller/designer in the red zone and short yardage situations. That person would collaborate with Sarkisian and have those circumstances as their main focus. The red zone and short yardage situations have been a problem from day one for Sarkisian. He's fucking inept with those concepts. If he doesn't put in the work to fix it, which is not just film study but actually needed outside thinking and influence, then Texas will never win the whole thing with him at the helm. He doesn't just need to polish up. He's incompetent and needs someone else managing the work in this regard.
  6. Gerry's posted an in-state top targets by position for the 2026 and an OOS version as well. I've spoilered the OOS version in this post and will do the same in the next post for in-state. For the multiple posters with the attention span of a gnat and the reading comprehension skills of a dead marmot, these are lists of the very best target, in Gerry's view, for each position. Accordingly, these lists inherently exclude other players at each position that will also be targeted. Also, I like the formatting and I don't give a shit about people using dark mode or apps to read this and you're welcome. In-state tops:
  7. Gerry’s actually reading this kind of copy? hahahahahahha
  8. Happy for this dude. He cared about academics and so did his mother. He got his degree. He turned out to be more of a project than early help, but he ended up being dominant at times and will likely be a top 60 pick. Now he can go get paid.
  9. Burton is saying that Sarkisian likes where they're at with the WR room at this point. Evans would be a speed guy for returns. I've heard similar thoughts on the WR room and most of the roster. That's a change from this fall when the word was that they wanted to find a speedster to add to the WR room. If all of that is true, it tells us that the mix of Wingo, Moore, Niblett, Butler, Jaggerstone, Lockett, Ffrench, Terry, Dubose and McCutcheon is revving the staff's engine, for better or worse. I agree with all of this. I don't want draft eligible guys with the hope of getting drafted heading elsewhere in CFB. That said, don't be completely blown away if Blue does somehow join the portal as well in the next two days. Allegedly his NIL ask is absurd, but that's not coming from usual places so take it with a grain of salt. I would love to see Golden go early and as many longhorns get drafted as possible. Golden is the 4th highest rated WR on their Big Board, behind only McMillan, Burden, and Egbuka. Bond is the 11th highest rated WR and number 79 overall. They view Hunter (#1 overall) as a CB. I haven't read up on how this WR class is regarded by the scouts and such, but it looks like a really weak class to me. Burden looks like he's straight out of central casting as an early 1st round bust. I watched him many times this season and he's the worst kind of bitchass prima donna WR. That's an easy guy to root against.
  10. I don't know how often PFF updates their big board, but they do update it regularly. Currently, they have Golden as 23rd on the board for all of draft eligible CFB players. For RBs, they have 29 players ranked in their top 300. Blue is still not listed as one of those top 29 RBs for the draft. Trevonte Citizen, formerly of LSU and currently at McNeese State, is the 282nd ranked player and last TB listed. There are names up and down the list that we'd all recognize, and plenty of them are also very fucking fast. Not saying it can't happen for Blue, but he better hurry up and get on that grind, cousin. What other site? Your handle is new, albeit your posting behavior familiar, and we don't know what to trust coming from a post like this. You could be citing any idiot.
  11. The guy wasn't writing with the notion that victory is certain. We all can concede that winning a national title, especially now with the playoff, is very fucking hard and will require either: 1) a confluence of luck, skill, and schedule or 2) a loaded roster, the likes of which come along every 4-5 years for one team, and in today's era of the portal and NIL, we've yet to see evidence that that can continue to happen.
  12. You're also expecting David Aaron's big breakout game to be next week against a slow secondary for Iowa State. Just send that speedster deep! Gerald Hansen is about to use that elite speed to streak past the Oklahoma State secondary and propel us to glory! If speed were all that mattered, sure, he's drafted late. Maybe the Raiders go for it.
  13. Go ahead. Let’s have a neg off. Your whining here about something that is readily part of the miasma of discussion in this thread is as much of a drag as us discussing a guy’s draft prospects who may still also declare himself to the portal. That’s an over the top reaction due to your own personal preferences.
  14. I will bet you any amount of money that you’d like to risk on this premise. Just tell me the amount and I’ll take the other side of it.
  15. It’s not like I’m writing an AA off or something, but Booker has yet to have a big game against a title contending opponent. She needs to show up against one of those before she proves herself to be Jeff Bagwell.
  16. I’m still not in a spot where I can be my usual nice and polished self, so I’m just going to be brief and say that this is a terrible fucking take. You clearly haven’t looked at the RB list for this draft. The fucking stud RB from UNC is ranked as low as the late teens by some services. There are known hosses all over the top 30 this year. Blue ain’t one of them. He will need to run a low 4.2 to get into the top 20 and he’s not Xavier Worthy.
  17. He’s like Sanders in the last class. If he’s your 4th DT, okay, I guess? If you wind up needing him in the class, things probably haven’t gone well.
  18. How fast do people honestly think Blue is? Fast enough to remedy the him fumbling all the time? To remedy him going down with one arm tackles on the regular? To cover for weak pass pro? The guy is a deeply flawed prospect coming out in what may be the deepest RB draft ever. If he gets drafted, I’ll be stunned.
  19. Moore likely got a mixed draft response between 5th round projections all the way over to UFA. One more year of $250k-$400k and a chance to improve that outlook is better than a stick in the eye.
  20. I loved grabbing a late lunch there while waiting for others to arrive on day 1. It was never busy though, so I can’t say I am surprised.
  21. Moore’s camp has told Bobby Burton that Trey Moore is returning to Texas. Nothing set in stone, but that would be a big deal, IMO.
  22. Booker against NCSU - 8/21 Booker against ND - 7/21 Booker first half against SCar - 1/14 Also, the defense looks like trash.
  23. Big Game Booker, showing out again. JFC.
