  1. No intentional grounding?
  2. Players have to execute. Far more often, that is the problem. But credit Georgia here too. They have scouted well and playing with their hair on fire. Kirby has them dialed in. Unfortunately, Ewers hasn't really got it back together yet. It could happen anytime though, and if he does, things could change quickly.
  3. It's always interesting to see how any talk in the Game Week threads of concerns about Ewers, or Georgia's talent, etc. is always met with derision and attacked.
  4. For me, the decision to do that has a lot to do with how far down do you think you can come back from. Against OU, we were never in trouble. This could get ugly quickly. Trouble is, how well can Arch handle reading the defense? Especially one as good as Georgia's. There comes a point though, where you have nothing to lose.
  5. This. They have scouted well. But Ewers needs to wake up from the funk.
  6. He is too psychologically fragile. But when he's on, he's virtually unstoppable. He just has to get it together. And Kirby has done his homework too.
  7. They could be playing better. Both are true.
  8. Hopefully he wakes up soon. The OL isn't helping things. They aren't playing with the same intensity as Georgia.
  9. Holy Shit! Way too early in the game to be so defeatist. WTF over?
  10. Goodson's Cafe large CFS. Chicken Fried Chicken on opposite plate.
  11. The ass whipping we gave them lingers still.
  12. There was also no small amount of uncalled holding by Wash and a blatant PI on the last pass in the endzone. Pretty hard for Adonai to catch that one with a db draped all over him and pulling down on his shoulder.
  13. Finebaum picked Texas.
  14. I wouldn't have phrased it as getting hit; rather, he called the run to get Quinn's juices flowing and regain some confidence. But I think your main point is correct because he was definitely playing scared. I don't buy that the early disguised schemes by Venables explains that away. Sure, it could cause him some confusion, but he wasn't trusting his protection and fled the pocket prematurely several times. Good disguises shouldn't affect his footwork and pocket presence, but could certainly cause some delays in making his reads.
  15. Nah. It was after his handler was told the hotel pet deposit during F1:
  16. Doesn't matter the reason why. It's still stupid and unbecoming.
  17. Exactly. I expect the ratings for this game to reflect it too. Hot take, I know, but interested to see how it stacks up to the Ohio State vs Oregon viewership.
  18. I don't want to hear it at anytime, for any reason, ever. I don't want the younger fans picking it up as a habit because surely a bunch of them will be chanting just because everyone else is, not because they know the Hell why. We're Texas.
  19. I think we win if we get peak Ewers. If he starts out like he did against OU -- trouble. But having that game out of the way, I'm optimistic he won't regress, or if he does start slow, that he'll adjust more quickly this time. Looking forward to see how the defense and the PK/Nansen duo handle the chess game too. Will we see more Lafau in this game? He really popped against OU. And how will the secondary handle an offense that poses a true passing threat with an elite QB and WRs? To what degree can our pass rush mitigate stress on the secondary?
  20. They are still a very talented team. Has anyone recruited better than Georgia for the last 5 years or more? It's pretty much been Ohio State, Georgia and Bama as the top 3 recruiting teams typically and we've started breaking into that arena of late. Georgia hasn't played to their potential for complete football games yet, but they are battle tested if for no other reason than not taking care of business in the first half of games. They will be galvanized for this game and may play their best football yet. Not hard to see the potential for a real barnburner in this game. Who knows how it actually will play out. Likewise, this will be our first test against a good offense. It's absolutely valid to acknowledge that. So yeah, we're rightfully favored, but totally understandable why not by a substantial margin. Bama managed to get Beck out of sorts in the first half, but he came out having regained his composure in the second and darn near pulled off the comeback. Will be interesting to see if our pass rush can get home to Beck or disrupt him. Also interested to see if Georgia can have success running the ball up the middle. We've been somewhat susceptible to that.
  21. And a gun rack at the rear window.
  22. I don't expect they will be so cavalier for this matchup. Not saying you are asserting they will either, but this game is mega-important to their season with one loss already and us clearly being their toughest opponent yet.
  23. That has been OU's MO in the RRS for about as long as I can remember. It's like anything else (holding, PI, etc.), they do it until they get checked either by refs or players, and the refs have always let the chit fly until a Texas player responds. They're trying to intimidate and punk the players. About time someone like Cam Williams said, "Oh, Hell No!" to that BS. Same as was required in Michigan and probably again in Fayetteville too.
