  1. This is the Alex Jones of recruiting
  2. Not sure anyone is surprised. Tom advanced pretty quickly in his career before taking on one of the largest head coaching gigs in sports. He doesn't have a far reaching network, Ash is a comfort hire without needing any dissection into the decision. I'll just reserve judgement to see how we perform. Hopefully this means we've had OC covered for a while and are just waiting to reveal.
  3. I don’t understand what his hold up would be to re-sign with USC if he weren’t still considering and/or planning to go elsewhere soon. However, were that true, we’d probably also be seeing names crop up as potential replacements for Harrell at USC. If he doesn’t want to leave him high and dry on ESD, it makes no sense to not tell Clay he’s bouncing until ESD, leaving Helton In a frenzy to find a replacement. If he is genuinely torn and doesn’t know, either us or USC could end up a creek without a paddle. A lot of the “supposed” names on our list are getting hired away. Herman’s demeanor over it all seems to be unbothered, which means it’s been taken care of or he’s just that arrogant. Given how desperately he wants to quit fucking with game planning, I’m praying for the first option.
  4. I just read another tweet that said so. Perhaps linking the original tweet would have provided more clarity than me just saying so. I have no idea how to track followers and who and when they followed, etc.
  5. Harrell followed Dajon Harrison and and another Texas commit (I think Hayden Conner?) apparently last night on Twitter. #Twitterscience bodes well for us
  6. From what I've been told about CDC from someone who spent time in his programs at TCU, the guy runs his programs with an iron fist. Hiring and firing power is completely stripped from his coaches outside of certain conditions, and he controls everything down to the assistant staff, but is "moderately receptive to opinions from his coaching staff" on who should stay, go, or come on. It's been very successful for him, obviously, but if he really is letting Herman pick the coaches, I'm disappointed. Herman has shown he can't help himself from hiring his buddies rather than using this university's ability to go out and hire an all-star. One could make the case that Coach Hand would be an outlier to the former statement; I'm hopeful that "Herman picking the coaches" is just a PR front, because at this point I have more faith in CDC than I do in Herman.
  7. The worst part is saying 8-4 is "feasible" is that it just isn't. It's a fucking fighter's chance at best. I don't think anybody here realistically thinks this clearly dejected team can waltz into Waco and pull a win out of their uninspired asses. It's only made worse by the fact that the Texas Tech game is this weird forced fucking rivalry that nobody wants every single fucking year in this conference, and this year it'll be on the day after Thanksgiving at 11 in the fucking morning. It's going to be a neutral site game and Tech is gonna smell the blood in the water when this team walks onto DKR. The "feasible" options are 7-5 if we somehow manage to stop pouting about what we should've been and get our shit in gear. That would require a competent coaching staff, however. Even if Herman were to do some Mark Richt-esque shit with high seasons and low seasons, get that shit gone. CDC had a slew of good hires at TCU's team that kept them in elite-status and in our nightmares. Hopefully he can bring some of that to Texas sooner rather than later.
  8. Somebody needs to remind dodger02 that elementary-grade logic or better is not permitted within TexAgs Premium
  9. That's what I'm beginning to think too.
  10. If Mike Roach is retweeting this surely there's more to this story. I get he's not well informed, but would he really retweet horse shit? He's apparently been missing from USC summer workouts + fall camp for over a month now. https://twitter.com/ShotgunSpr/status/1161086276893736960?s=20 Whoops didn't realize second reply was already posted, sorry.
  11. "Jimbo and Elko get who they want" except for like the entire DL in the state of Texas thus far, and numerous other guys. They also "want" Noah Sewell, but that won't happen either. More delusions of grandeur to quell their inevitable sequel to their signing day collapse. Also, by all accounts (at least on Surly), it seems that barbecue did not go anywhere close to plan since they pressed Princely and he suddenly wants nothing to do with them afterwards lmao.
  12. "Glad Evans chose to keep it in the SEC where he'll have a chance to clap our cheeks, instead of going to different conference where we won't ever have to face someone we claim is a generational, once in a decade type of talent"
  13. Tunmise said a while back he knows where Princely is going. If that's true (which I suspect it may not be), maybe the fact that he's calling him 4i Princely actually bodes well for us. That would also couple with that report from TFB that Texas seems to be trending hard with him.
  14. Shit. I wanted them to lose that game for helping us get Wilson, who is probably a lost cause for sure now. Now I want Thompson more. Can we pull an aggy and call it a transitive win-win?
  15. Safe to say not just Texas media but all media whiffed on this one big time. If that isn't a big indicator... Regardless, Mike posted he thinks its only plausible CT Jr flips if Malzahn is canned after this season. That's not all that insightful as we all could have guessed that, but it's something that'll probably help us in re-recruiting him.
  16. I think we end up with Eaton or Jahari ultimately. You're right - it's hard to be concerned about DBs the way our rooms are stacked right now. It's just unusual to whiff this much based on previous DB recruiting. That's the way of the road though.
  17. Apparently CT Jr had told Dorbah and JaQuinden it would be Texas. Yikes. Also according to Mike, so take with a grain of salt, but the Auburn side didn't regain confidence until 20 minutes before the decision. What a ride.
  18. That's.. actually wild. I'd always known boosters were a constant in recruiting but I never thought of the.. brand sponsors? I mean I considered Nike was helping Oregon given their relationship, but outside of that, I didn't consider it. I figured they didn't give a flying fuck as long as some teams were using them. Is their only angle securing a potential CFB sensation wearing their brand or what?
  19. fuck - I'm an engineer, words are second in priority. Correction noted
  20. 1. Bijan is the anomaly Drayton needed. Bijan didn't respond permanently to pressure and he is very devout in his faith, something a lot of other running backs we've recruited aren't about. Many are more about the hype and the golden things. Had Texas joined in the Noah Cain sweepstakes sooner, Drayton would have won that too. But, for all intensive purposes, Bijan was literally the perfect kid for Drayton to make a real, meaningful connection with. 2. Everything I hear about Harbaugh makes me think of him akin to a psycho from the Borderlands game series with a little more intelligence.
  21. A man who understands the Gaussian distribution
  22. For conjecture's sake, as I know Demas is the last likely cat to leave that delusioned fan base: What record makes him see the light and decommit? My bet would be 6-6.
