  1. I just don’t see him pulling Arch. Sark has shown a tendency to stubbornly let the QBs flail. He did it with Card @Arkansas in ‘21 and with Quinn in ‘22 @Oklahoma State. Granted those were both against P4 teams on the road, not at home against a CUSA team
  2. Cameraman having way too much fun with all these stunned Tennessee fans
  3. Tessitore: “This has felt much more like a Texas-style offense today” offense proceeds to go 3-and-out
  4. A lot of room for improvement here but he definitely showed flashes. The throw to Endries to start out the final drive was on point. The out route to Livingstone was a pretty good throw as well. Hopefully as he gets more experience, the game will slow down for him. I keep thinking back to the development arc Sam had in 2018. He looked rough against Maryland and to a lesser extent Tulsa, then things really started to click for him.
  5. Littleton was definitely the standout to me. A true freshman in his first ever college action straight up won battles against the best WR in college football who many believe is a generational talent
  6. He wants people to discuss him. That’s part of his whole schtick. We don’t need to talk about him. He can fuck right off
  7. While he didn’t self sack like Ewers did, his footwork looked off at times. A couple of times he just threw off his back foot and tried to strong arm it. I’d like to think he’ll correct that with more game experience. On one hand, I definitely expected some struggles with his first road start being on the road in one of the toughest environments in the sport against the defending national champs, but I was still surprised how poor his footwork looked at times and some off his misses were just plain bad. I do wish Sark would’ve mixed in more quick-hitter screens. We had a solid one to Wingo in the 2nd quarter, then went back to long-developing pass plays. To me, it seemed like Sark came in with a very conservative gameplan and thought we just could beat them in a street fight like Michigan did last year.
  8. Well, at least we won’t have to play a defense that good again until Georgia. If Arch looks this bad when we go to The Swamp, we’ve got a serious problem
  9. Telegraphed that one. Ohio State loaded up for the sneak there. Should’ve called that fake sneak pitch to the outside Baxter scored on against K-State 2 years ago
  10. Quick screen to Wingo for a good gain followed by more long developing pass plays when our receivers can’t get any separation
  11. Being unable to audible or hot route receivers on the road is tough, too. If you call a pass play and don’t like the coverage you get, you’re SOL. I pretty much just stick to basic run plays or conservative RPOs to try and build enough momentum to take the crowd out of the game. At least this year you can see the receiver icons more clearly on the play art when selecting a play. I don’t recall that being the case in CFB 25.
  12. Sark needs to find someone to play the role of a traditional fullback in goalline sets that’s not just a defensive lineman. I think Baxter and Gibson with another year in the S&C program can be good short yardage backs, but they need someone in front of them to help clear the way.
  13. I have a feeling we’ll see Quinn at his best today. Wouldn’t be surprised if he uses his feet more and breaks off a couple of big scrambles. If we get the Quinn that showed up in The Big House, we win by two possessions.
  14. I don’t get why Sark doesn’t try to get the ball to Bolden more. He had two big plays in the 2nd quarter, but I don’t remember hearing much from him after that. He has reliable hands and great speed and agility in space.
  15. Quinn’s obviously still not 100%. If we can grind out a win on Saturday and get him 3 weeks to recover, I think we’ll see a much improved Quinn in the playoffs.
  16. We need this clip with Craig’s call instead of Fowler
  17. Just protect the ball and don’t lose the field position battle. Lean on Wisner. Get a first round bye, then get Quinn, Bond, and Banks healthy over the break. We’ve got this!
  18. We’ll see. I’m not sure I totally agree here. The only real impact is that it killed any outside shot of them making the playoff with a loss to us (although I think any 3-loss team with no real signature wins would have a tough argument). They’re still playing for a chance to play for the SEC championship and thus a chance to earn a playoff spot with wins over us and Georgia. If the loss last night would’ve eliminated them from SEC title game contention, I’d be more inclined to agree about last night’s loss crushing their spirit. Now, the physical toll of playing a long game like that could play a role on Saturday, but they still control their own destiny to some degree.
  19. The couple of times I’ve watched A&M play this year, none of their position groups stood out to me as special. Their DL could give us fits, but that’s about the only major concern I have. Their offense is a bunch of JAGS, so not really concerned unless we gift them short fields like we did against Georgia. All that being said, I’m sure they’ll play out of their minds since this is their super bowl, so we’ll definitely get their best punches. I think the real X-Factor is going to be the stadium. Kyle Field is typically overrated, but it’s going to be absolutely rocking. Momentum and crowd energy are really hard to quantify, especially in college football. However, I trust Sark and co. to know how to manage that. Plus, some of Quinn’s best games as a Longhorn were on the road (last year @Bama and this year @Michigan).
  20. So then why throw Arch out there against Georgia? Sark can say he did that just to settle down Quinn as much as he wants, but at the end of the day he had to realize that if Arch goes in there, lights it up, and leads us to a win, there’s no turning back. It’d have been Arch’s team plain and simple. You don’t make that move if you’re dead set on rolling with Ewers the rest of the season 100% like you say.
  21. One thing I’d add here is the ramifications of having RFK Jr in any position related to public health. Giving him any kind of power to limit vaccine availability or at bare minimum spread vaccine misinformation is horrifying. And the dangerous part here is that this affects a lot more people than just those who refuse to get the vaccine. My dad is severely immunocompromised from cancer treatment, so more antivaxxers running around spreading preventable diseases to people whose bodies aren’t capable of handling those infections is just going to cause unnecessary and preventable pain, suffering, and death. And that’s not even getting into ramifications of his proposal to remove fluoride from water or any other health issues that he’s in no way qualified to oversee.
  22. My dad finally finished his chemo for follicular lymphoma. Met with the oncologist last week and it seems that the treatment did the job. He did stop short of saying he was in “remission” simply because this is form of lymphoma is indolent and basically incurable. The most recent scan did show no evidence of cancer, so obviously that’s a huge win. He’ll still receive maintenance immunotherapy infusions every six weeks for the next two years, but thankfully the immunotherapy is much easier on him than the chemo. Now, it’s just a matter of keeping an eye on his blood work and doing the best we can to stay safe in cold and flu season with his compromised immune system.
  23. Hold X/A to keep the ball on a triple option or read option. Basically the exact opposite of what it was in the old games. For the RPOs you have to tap the receiver icon before handing it off, so you have to make a pretty quick read or know exactly where you want to go before the snap.
  24. What ever happened with that guy? Is he still around?
