  1. well yeah. how else are they gonna yell "state's rights" with a straight face?
  2. i don't know where to put this (title of my sex tape), so i'll just put it here. i'm finding the relationship between the border situation and the general election fascinating, because trump is meddling from the outside (have we ever seen a candidate do this?) and folks like romney are throwing a spaz about it - https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/4429211-romney-trump-border-bill-biden/ obviously the more in-fighting, the better. the american people seem to have elevated the border into a top 2-3 issue. if congress does something, which they're trying to, it's good for biden. trump doesn't want them to fix it, because he wants to run on it. which frankly, is the most insightful, coherent move i've ever seen from trump the candidate, so someone else must've given it to him. it also reminded me of something, and it was bothering me, until i found it. here ^, whitford is trying to get a lawsuit properly funded against big tobacco, and is elevating the press profile to get attention, and then taking a stupid victory lap when he got it. ron silver, who stole every scene he was in, is running the reelection campaign, and puts him in his place.
  3. maybe if we let the migrants watch fox news, they'll find out what an economic disaster america is, and they'll turn back on their own.
  4. i actually didn't love the movie first time through, which is the opposite of lock stock, snatch, and (the 2nd) sherlock holmes. but it gets better on every viewing.
  5. what would he know about a humiliating public loss?
  6. closers are like fg kickers. they can come through and win lots of games but you really only pay attention if they fuck up. i knew i would get there. there are 4 pk in the hof.
  7. he plays an ex ufc fighter brought in to fix up the bar. conor mcgregor is in the credits. the only other names i noticed were lukas gage and billy magnussen, who would make a good rich dude bad guy. doug liman knows what he's doing, so maybe it'll be decent. i'll wait until someone here tells me about it. comes out in march.
  8. if there was a stat like "3rd downs achieved" that people gave a shit about, your analogy would be better. baseball is a stat game. saves are a thing. at least 2 guys got in the hof because at the time they had "the most saves of all time". not because of innings, k's, bwar, or era+. they are not the same. a better analogy would be if there was a d-lineman that was exclusively a pass-rusher, only played 10-15 snaps per game, and was just judged on sacks. of course if you have a bunch of sacks, you probably go to the hall of fame.
  9. if it didn't get fixed when the gop was competitive, ain't never gonna happen.
  10. lol. the fact that my joke (which wasn't funny) about him going to cr and balancing it out went over the way it did is objectively funny, and i stand by it.
  11. counterpoint - if used properly, covid could delay every one of his trials for years. "my wife thinks she might have covid" has gotten me out of plane tickets, hotel reservations, dinner reservations, birthday parties, baby showers, get-togethers with annoying people. it's insanely useful.
  12. one thing we know about trump is that he always learns his lessons.
  13. what's also alarming are these terrible poll questions about whether a conviction in any of these matters will change their mind or make him "unfit" to be president. there seem to be plenty of people that are ok with the indictments, but claim they will sing a different tune if he's convicted. which is to say, there's a part of their brains that think these charges are all just bullshit/witch hunt. first off, anyone who says a conviction makes a difference is a fucking liar. second of all, whomever writes these poll questions needs a slap to the face.
