There’s not going to be a battle over the supreme court position.  Dems will go through the motions and that’s it.
Welllllllll if it's 50/50, can Pence cast a tie breaking vote without being present in the senate chamber?

I think that if he had it, he wouldn't tell us. His base play is "bullshit." If he gets sick and dies then I'll believe he had it.Â
He let it slip during a therapy sesh on fox though. This wasn't a planned announcement
-
So if Trump and Pence are in quarantine and Pelosi isn't... What happens when there's a critical government function that needs someone in person?
Who's gonna fucking preside over the senate for the supreme court battle??

My guess is their quarantine is a hell of a lot different than yours and mineNo doubt. But I'd bet ya a beer that it's not going to be anywhere close to the same capability/capacity as without an outbreak in the west wing. And I was more thinking of the staff and analysts who do slot of heavy lifting and sifting of sensitive/classified documents for the decision makersÂ

Ohhhh boy. He comes out of this unscathed and fine, the whole lot of people are taking one giant leap back to normalcy
Bigger issue is the required quarantine for anyone exposed. How do you access a SCIF to get classified info to make decisions if you're in quarantine? Our government and national defense/security apparatus wasn't built to work remotely.
Not good stuff, and not good for any american.Â
-
So this definitely is going to turbo fuck our entire national security and defense apparatus.Â
Like. Bigly.Â
Top brass didn't keep their masks on around trump and per reports the white house has been pretty nonchalant with COVID mitigations. Anyone who's been to the WH in the last week is going to have to quarantine.Â

Well fuck my ass if fox fucking news didn't break one of the biggest stories of the year that the white house didn't want to get out

Going to be interesting to see how much news they let out on test results in the morning. We only know about the positive because of a non factual opinion show call-in. Wild shit

So brass tacks talk: shit is about to get TURBO FUCKED in the west wing. Systems of government were not built with social distancing in mind. Nevermind that the trump admin has been shunning the use of masks and by all reports, haven't been following other health best practices either. So there's a potential for MANY people being required to go into a 2 week quarantine.Â
What if a general or intelligence officer is contact traced to hicks and they need to go into a SCIF to view classified info to make a critical decision? They can't. There's no way for them to get that info. Our ability as a nation to strategically respond to events is going to be very negatively impacted.Â
And it's an own fucking goal

Counterpoint: You can still mail your mail in ballot.
*Ducks*
Just have to trust that USPS wont "accidentally" lose your ballot, and that the trump admin or hotwheels doesn't find some way to not count them or destroy them.

Internal document shows Trump officials were told to make comments sympathetic to Kyle Rittenhouse
QuoteWASHINGTON — Federal law enforcement officials were directed to make public comments sympathetic to Kyle Rittenhouse, the teenager charged with fatally shooting two protesters in Kenosha, Wisconsin, according to internal Department of Homeland Security talking points obtained by NBC News.
In preparing Homeland Security officials for questions about Rittenhouse from the media, the document suggests that they note that he "took his rifle to the scene of the rioting to help defend small business owners."
...
The Rittenhouse talking points also say, "Kyle was seen being chased and attacked by rioters before allegedly shooting three of them, killing two."
"Subsequent video has emerged reportedly showing that there were 'multiple gunmen' involved, which would lend more credence to the self-defense claims."
The document instructs officials, if they are asked about Rittenhouse, to say they are not going to comment on an ongoing investigation and to say that "what I will say is that Rittenhouse, just like everyone else in America, is innocent until proven guilty and deserves a fair trial based on all the facts, not just the ones that support a certain narrative. This is why we try the accused in the court of law, not the star chamber of public opinion."
Officials were instructed to bring conversations back to the need to preserve law and order: "This is also why we need to stop the violence in our cities. Chaotic and violent situations lead to chaotic, violent and tragic outcomes. Everyone needs law and order."
Sounds like some familiar talking points from this thread....

Did Russia fuck up 100,000 ballots? That is serious election meddling.Â
It looks like a procedural error, if you actually read the article you link to, it reports the following error:
Michael Ryan, the executive director of the New York City Board of Elections, told the board during its weekly meeting Tuesday that the third-party vendor used to print the absentee ballots, Phoenix Graphics Inc., erroneously sent oath envelopes with names, address and bar codes that were different from the names and address listed on the voter's ballot.
Swing and a miss there, fucko. The fact that they caught it and are addressing it in a timely manner would go the other way to the conclusion that is NOT election meddling. Just error-correction along the way, which is gonna be necessary in a system meant to handle over 100MM votes.

I remember when I bought my glock 19 many years and years ago and spent 5 minutes looking for the safety. I'm not a read the instructions guy, but I gave up. Cracked me up once I realized the "safety" was "don't pull the trigger!".
IMHO, a good holster is a better safety than the safety on a gun. If it's out of the holster and in your hand, it's a deadly weapon. And it's MUCH more clear if it's in a ready to shoot state or not at a glance.
Not a big fan on striker fired for that reason though, love my P-07 to carry w/ one in the pipe with hammer down. First trigger pull is DA (you gotta mean to pull it) and then afterwards is SA

A Kentucky judge has delayed until Friday the release of secret grand jury proceedings in Breonna Taylor’s killing by police, so that prosecutors can edit out witnesses’ names and personal information.
Audio recordings of the proceedings were originally supposed to be made public Wednesday, but Attorney General Daniel Cameron’s office asked a Louisville court for a week’s delay to remove details such as witnesses’ addresses and phone numbers.
On Wednesday, Judge Ann Bailey Smith granted a shorter delay, giving the attorney general until noon on Friday.
Â
Any of you law dogs seeing any of this as weird? They've changed their story several times on when they'll release this info. Seems extremely disorganized and ad-hoc
They needed no time, then a week, then only 3 days to sufficiently redact the necessary info. It doesn't give me much hope that we're going to get anything actually useful out of these recordings. I won't be surprised when we get pages and pages of blacked out transcripts

Why didn't they even attempt to try and do a Trump accent/impression? That was what kept it form being a 10/10. The Trump satire was weak.
Mr Garrison as trump is what they've got at this point lol. I don't think they anticipated him getting stuck into that role
